During the Ottoman Empire in the 20th century, Lebanese Christians emigrated to many Latin American countries. In my country, the Dominican Republic, many Christian Arabs emigrated to parts of the north. The Christians adapted to the population.
Very true
Dominic Republic is a secular or catholic nation???

Lebanon is a Christian country and will remain and we are still here . We are 38.4% of population now . And if the diaspora return we become 80% Christian.
I have many christian friends, so sectarian people like you are not welcome. secondly, during the last 35 years or so, at least half (if not more) of the people who left were muslim. so saying that 80% is christian is just F***ing stupid. forth, there's no such thing as a massive lebanese christian diaspora. Most of them have assimilated into the adopted countries more than 2 generations ago. These new "diaspora" don't know and don't care about lebanon. Do you really think that a 3rd generation lebanese in latin america gives a shit? Finally, if you look at people who identify as lebanese in the diaspora, it'll be almost 50/50 or prbly more weighted towards muslim lebanese..who actually identify as lebanese, have kept the culture, language and religion. But one can only hope I guess..or be delusional 🤣

Lebanon was originally a Christian country
Nope. Wrong. Originally a Zorastrian country.
No
Zoroastrianism in Lebanon?! Are you crazy?
Possible.
What makes me doubt is the presence of Hindus and Sikhs.

Zoroastrianism has never been the largest religion in Lebanon. So actually, in ancient times, Lebanon was a mixture of paganism and Judaism.
Wrong ... now in Lebanon 66% muslims 34% Christians
Go freedom go Christianity
Zoroastrian are u kiddin’😂
Before Christianity, The ppl of Lebanon were mostly idol worshippers. Our ancestors used to Worship the Phoenician old Gods like Baal, Adonis and Anat. Then after Christ crucification the people of the Region adopt Christianity followed after many years by Islam
There are not 3 million Christians in Lebanon nor that many Muslims

What do the colored map stand for since it doesn't match the bar map.
Lebanese provinces. But 2 more provinces akkar ansd north beka were created
I'm sorry, but the data for this video is innacurate. Going from 1920 and onwards, there were significant swings in population balance, such as the influx of Palestinians in the 1960s, and the Syrians in 2010s. None of which were shown in this video.
It's because they don't have Lebanese citizenship.

Because of religion killing each other?
Lebanon as country had been formed just at 1920,before that was country of sham, including lebanon, Syria, palestain and Jordan.
Why not point out that this region was called Phoenicia, Ottoman, or Roman or Assyrian or Egyptian and other empires' land? Why you guys insist on sham only? Why not call it France since it was colonized by France? Lebanon is mentioned 70 times the Old Testament as "Lebanon" not as sham! Lebanon was formed since the creation of the earth. With due respect, but big NO to your allegations and have some respect for what God called this country
Can the significant increase in the numbers of Christians during the 18th century be explained by migration of catholics from southern europe to Lebanon?
Not really, ethnic Lebanese are christians..
There was no massive immigration from Southern Europe. Some European moved to Lebanon but I wouldn't call it massive
@chrisscostantine7372 It's weird, because sharia was enforced in most Ottoman provinces, and according to sharia law there is death penalty for converting from Islam. Maybe like in Albania, sharia law wasn't strictly enforced. Higher fertility rate of Christians by itself can't explain Christian demographic increase of christians
That's not accurate @ all.. 😂

Bullshit data
bogus data
Lebanon 🇱🇧 is always for muslims...May Allah Protect All Muslims in Lebanon from extremists Christians..ameen
Wtf is wrong with you bangladeshi? In lebanon there is no extremist christians. You are the extremist.
This is very wrong
Lebanese Christan catholic Jesus r the way merry Christmas everyone
I am not sure where this data came from, but it is definitely not true. First of all, Lebanon didn't exist in its present form till 1943. There was an area called mount Lebanon, and it was mostly Druze and Christians. You should look at the last census that was done few years ago. The Moslems were over 80% of the population with the Shiite edging the Sunni's by few fractions. The Christians made up less than 15%. You are off the mark in this podcast by quite a bit.
bro noo noo what u talking about? have u seen the latest census in 2024? Christians are now 6% in Lebanon!
Last census was 1932. not few years ago.
@@mathsforeverything there was a census done about 5 years ago.
@bowhunter3703 I don't think so. Please post a link?
@bowhunter3703 Articles isn't census. Last census was 1932. You are lying.
Proudly, Lebanon is an Islamic country ❤🎉
Wrong, it is a union with different faiths living in peace.
There was never budhists or sikh in lebanon lol and jews are almost instinct in the country . Where did you get your info from lol? 😂

OMG..the christian coping here is beyond the roof 🤣
There are may be 10-20 jews in Levanon😂and they show 5000....stupid klip
There are about it 5k Lebanese Jew but only about 40 remained in Lebanon. One of my friends is a Lebanese Jew.
It's wrong..because dur to war many christian flew from Lebanon.. christian in Lebanon hardy 10-15 percent..
Not really, we still make up to 40% of the total population, considering the voters numbers back in 2022. And it’s said that Leb Christians would make up to 55% if you take into account the Lebanese citizens who live abroad and are not registered to vote
I'd say christians are 35% at max and this number is subjected to drop more in the next decade. The thing is that in general Christian marriages droped these last decades and if they do they are giving birth to no more that 1-2 children on average compared to the average 3-4 and up to 5 for the muslims .
30% if I am not wrong
Wrong. We make up 35-40% at least. Some put the number even higher...
With lebanese diaspora (8 millions) mainly christian, Christians make up to 77% of the population.
