This would’ve been before he was playing guitar, or maybe learning but not competent. Buck had Don as a harmony singer and fiddle player from late 59-61. They traveled the country in a 50’s Chevrolet wagon I believe it was. Buck was the guitar player and they used Don on fiddle and house bands at the dates they had. Somewhere in those couple of years Don started learning from buck and developed his playing and style and by 63 he was what I believe to be one of the greatest players in country music. Which is quite astonishing. 2 or 3 years really isn’t the time needed to develop that much as a player. But Don did it
@Telecastersanonymous Don played the lead in the original studio recording in 1963. He was definitely a fit guitarist by 1964. It probably was just a rule of the film. If you notice all other acts in this film, were being back by the same band. Don was playing guitar for Buck by
Greatest male duo in country music ever!
2024 and nobody in today's country music can even come close to buck and Don's talent..The buckeroos forever!!!!!
Watching from the PHILIPPINES and appreciate these videos.
The amount of suspense I felt waiting for that girl to pop back in for a second bite of her turkey leg…
Definitely Hee Haw material for the future.
Thank God Don was there too. I know those musicians are talented Nashville studio folks, but they ain't the Buckaroos.
It's a shame they didn't let Don Rich play guitar on Act Naturally.
Don Rich was such a handsome cuss.
Pete Drake on Steel! Wonder why Don didn't take that Jazzmaster and play himself
Right !
