Colbert has NEVER struck me as being in the least bit smart. His comedy has always been flat, unimaginative, uninspired, and completely lacking in original thought. His program, over the past 4 years, has relied mainly on constant attacks on Trump, right wing politics, conservative thinking, people who live in what is called "fly over country" in New York and Los Angeles, but is basically the heart of America (farms, industry, fishing, textiles, electronics, oil, and mainly the productive part of the GDP), and a distain for anyone who fails to live up to his low, low, LOW standards.
Douglas is absolutely 100% correct, after all, you would never find the contributors on FOX (of which he is occasionally one) being biased toward Trump and the republicans. Stephen Colbert should be replaced by Greg Gutfeld who is, quite honestly, up there with Chaplin, W.C. Fields, Woody Allen, Richard Pryor, Chris Rock and Robin Williams as one of the USA's greatest ever comedians.😀

There are some stark omissions regularly and ignored hard data... but everyone's doing it, especially on Sky, so whaddaya gonna do? Anyway, you really can't stray for a minute if you claim to be the voice of integrity with hundreds of thousands tuning in. Even the few instances when you do follow commercial editorial policy and do little bendy things with language and context are too many.
Murray would love an invite to appear on Colbert. He's desperate to be invited onto all the respectable shows where he can show off his Home Counties drawl and condescending sneer.
If only every trial had the same sentencing given the circumstances. Working with a family is a special consideration, but not a get out o f jail free.
