  • The actual history, the real story of the Rise & Fall of the Indus Valley Civilization (harappa and Mohenjo Daro) is buried under the sands of time. Quite literally. While we have unearthed some fascinating artefacts and tried to piece together their lives and stories, a lot of course is still speculation. In this animated history documentary, you will see all that we do know so far about the history of the largest Bronze Age civilization - the Indus Valley Civilization from 5000 years ago.

Wonderful. Those people were more systemic than today's of Indian societies. I wish we could learn more of them. Great work keep it up.

      Oh c'mon!
They were systemic for the time, but comparing a proto history civilisation to a modern one? Lmao, today's society is a billion time more complex and working much better.
Why people tend to romanticise history?

Very useful to find Sargonic scripture stating that Meluhha is 240 marching hours from Mari in Sumer. My suggestion it is the Yemeni port of Luhhayah (me- Luhha) is very strong. For Magan it could be (Makkan) which is the current Makkah. Melluha also means black land or land of blacks

You should know that Meluhaa mean high/Nobel abode , which make Aryavart in Indo Aryan language ( but Indus for sure never called themselves as meluhaa but they must used same meaning word in their language )

Meluhha was its Sumerian name as she said in the video. Sumerian was a language isolate not related to Semitic or Indo-European. We don't know which language Indus people spoke or how they called their culture or their cities because we can't read their writings.

@@jayakrishnan26 It IS technically Multan because Meluhha was all of Pakistan.
However the name Meluha is an older form of Beluha which shifts to the prakritized Belucha and later Beluchistan.
Beluha, and Brahui are allomorphs of each other and Brahui is the Dravidian language of Pakistan and a remnant of the Harappan culture.
So it isn't impossible Multan to have been an early variant of the word Meluha since the Indus people did expand into the Panjab from Beluchistan and eventually all of Pakistan. However the word Meluha is actually the present day word Beluchistan.

@@jayakrishnan26 The postulation over "Mel-akkam" was made by Asko Parpola, who himself admits that "Mel-akkam" is not a real word, and does not appear in any Dravidian literature. Parpola in his book "Deciphering the Indus Script" states that the Brahui of Pakistan are remnants of the Harappan culture.
The word Meluha becomes Beluha and from there Belucha and its allomorph Brahui. Belukha still means Kingdom in some Dravidian languages such as Kurukh, and Bel Still means King.
Harappa is in the Sahiwal district of Panjab, Pakistan which is neighboring to Multan district. Indus Valley civilization was spread across all of Pakistan but not all of India, only those parts of India that are close to Pakistan and the sites in India were all later Indus Sites and colonies of the Indus Valley civilization. The Indus people originated in Beluchistan and were an Elametic people, and their language Brahui/Meluha , still survives in Pakistan.
Pakistan is not india, never was and never will be. India didn't even exist at the time of the Indus Valley civilization and "india" itself is a made up word by the British who ruled India. The Indus Valley is part of Pakistani culture, not indian...
