It's just crazy to see terapagos see so much play online, almost none in Japan and see so many people think the deck is just bad when it can do so many insane things.
Hey Ciran wanted to reach out and congratulate u on your recent top! I am only a few hours from you #canadagang hopefully some time I'll run into you during a cup or the Toronto regional! I wanted to ask you about Lugia and curious on your thoughts about the lists still playing great ball without squwakabilly and playing more then 2-2 rats
Feel funny watching this after reginals. "I don't know why I put pult in this tier list, I know Shintaro is playing a list without pidgeot but..." This is totally a god tier sign hahaha😂 I mean, there must be some mysterious force that made you add it to the list and then a Japanese player really won the whole thing
I was literally thinking that when Pult won haha. I played some games with the list and it's pretty good, I still don't think it is a crazy strong deck though
I've been absolutely LOVING terapagos/pidgeot. What list would you recommend starting from? I'm curious as to what my hoothoot/noctowl numbers should be and boss to counter catcher ratio

@@CiaranTCG does 1-1 Pidgeot ex ever feel low or is it just kind of a win-more and noctowl is usually enough? Also I definitely want to drop my squawkabilly, I can def see mew being good. I almost put in transformative start ditto just to increase fan rotom start odds lol
1-1 feels perfect to me. It's a win more. I'm considering cutting Mew and beefing Noctowl up to 4-4. I don't really like Ditto since you don't have a way to pivot it active turn 1
Interesting tier list. The title tells the whole story, but some people may not know that for local events, it's usually Bo1 swiss. That can have a major impact on a deck choice but not as important as knowing your local players' playstyle. I don't remember you mentioning that at all. For example, on average, Garde is great into OgerBolt, but if you're too slow, it's game. OgerBolt is known for its consistent turn 2 donks. So idk
Even if you're slow with Gardevoir you have time to set up against Bolt. You can let them take 2 Kos before you and you still checkmate them if they don't have tool removal!
I’ve been absolutely loving Terapagos/Pidge, but sadly can’t play it to my events this weekend because my turtles haven’t come in the mail ;-;. Beyond that I think I’m either playing Lugia because nobody at my locals techs for it, or Gardy because it lets me tech for the best players (devo for zard, league hq for bolt/ancient box, hammer for Lugia, etc.). I might also just end up on Bolt because it makes me think the least, who knows 🙃
Lugia is always my fall back deck when I'm not sure what to play. I do love me some Gardy though. I'm going to check out the card stores near me today to see if I can get some Terapagos for cups this weekend!
Any tips on improving charizard matchup on roaring moon turbo? It’s my first deck and I’m really liking it and its pace but Charizard freaks the hell out of me
Charizard is just a tough matchup for the deck. One thing I try to do is take the first KO with Baby Moon and then KO Rotom. If you do this you can Frenzied Gouging to get yourself to 1 so they can't Dusclops/noir. You still leave the door open for Briar though
@@CiaranTCGbefore reading this I actually started doing exactly that and basically just using baby moon to do chip to set up for calamity storm. I also considered replacing baby moon and some other cards straight up with a small dusknoir package but that doesn’t seem worth it lol
My problem with Bolt is that you kind of rely on your opponents not setting up in a lot of matchups. Most decks win if they execute their strategy. Over 13 rounds it is hard to consistently have that happen
@@Marlinrimes it can, but if most decks get perfect set up they'll just win the prize trade. Into other 2 prize decks bolt does win if t always sets up though
Hey! I'm going to play in the Joinville regional on Saturday and I'm going to play vstar lugia because I'm a lugia bot. The problem is that I hear people saying that Charizard is a good matchup for Lugia but recently I'm having difficulty setting both minccino, is there any specific tip for when I can't put them on the bench or one goes for the prizes? ?
When charizard has a duskul and or a dusclops on bench it’s almost impossible to safely bench just one cincino. You pretty much need to have 2 cincino on a bench to even have a chance of getting a mincino. The only thing I think will help is just playing a bigger rat line. It’s very easy for zard to get dusknoir if it’s not prized.
You normally only get to set up one Cinccino a game. When you bench Minccino make sure to primal turbo 2 energy to it or else they can KO archeops and leave you no option to KO zard. If you play wyrdeer that is also a nice end game option to take out zard. If they ever bench rotom or lumineon the game gets a lot easier too since you can normally go hands for 2 --> ko zard/rotom --> ko zard/rotom
It's just crazy to see terapagos see so much play online, almost none in Japan and see so many people think the deck is just bad when it can do so many insane things.
It really feels odd. Whenever I win the flip I expect to win the game if I just draw average! Decks like Zard will even blind second in to you.

Ive been trying out Luxray/Reversal energy for the Stage 2 decks. havent gotten to use it a ton, but feels like theres something there
With Noctowl and Pidgeot it isn't too hard to search out. A lot of decks play Pidgeot rn, so could be something to explore more
