Oh boy the 80’s were really backward at times. Thank you soft cell, banshees, bunnymen, new order, pet shop boys etc for helping us displaced, outsider kids 💋💜❤️

synth music from around 78-83 was realy great. it ad that analog sound. no presets and no digital. it still sounds fresh compared to what came after, which was still good, but more generic
There were certainly presets but yes, overall I agree. The Fairlight and DX7 could produce amazing sounds but most musicians needed a team of men in white coats and about a billion quid to make it happen.
