This Beginner Videography gear, the Panasonic HDC TM700 is from 2010/2011. This camera has a Leica Dicomar 12x optical - 700x digital zoom on a 35mm lens. 3mos tech, FHD 1080 60p, colour night mode and auto slow shutter for low light, as well as macro functions. It is so small and light it could be fastened to a drone. Beginner Videography Gear is cheaper than going pro right away. With Beginner HD videocamera, gear, you can get quality for a small budget.
When the TM-700 came out in 2010 I bought two of them and 6 batteries, 3 chargers. Both cameras are still perfect and all batteries still work. Best camera I've ever used/seen and I've seen many in the past 15 years. One of mine is still basically new, the other has done over 100 NFL games, 100 NHRA events, 25 NASCAR events, 53 rock concerts and countless/too many other great stuff. Love them.
Just rediscovered my tm700 after buying a Nikon d5600 Dslr - the Panasonic is awesome in it's capabilities, color, image quality, image stabilization and built in 5.1 sound is pretty good also. In todays(2021) marketplace you would need to spend a BIG chunk of change to equal this little guys performance and features. Mighty fine all digital camcorder, and I have owned many camcorders (Sony, Canon, Panasonic) over the years. This TM700 outshines them all. Buy one if you find a clean used example!
I actually rarely use this camera anymore. We use a Panasonic GH5s and a Sony a74, and some times my Canon HF G40. But thanks for the info. Also, I still just plug it in. It's never been an issue where I wasn't near an outlet anyway. This camera pretty much always sat on a tripod getting good audio from the best position possible while I roam around with a higher quality camera.
Great review. I have three of these little beauties and use them a lot for 'B-roll' and for use in possible damage/loss/high damage risk situations. The footage especially, if stabilised on a tripod or static mount is simply outstanding! Also, in crowd or 'run-and-gun' situations this thing is unobtrusive and also pocketable. Wouldn't be without mine!
I really appreciated your review, nice practical evaluation and not ‘bogged down’ by over technical. I have the 2014 HC-V250 which I find an absolute dream. I wanted a second camera to film scenes from two angles. Almost impossible to get hold of these camcorders without going to 4k. People keep telling me to get an DSLR and use it for video but I find these Panasonic camcorders just so easy to use.
It's easier for camcorders with small sensors like this to focus because the depth of field is so large. So, the autofocus system is not that good, you just have more leeway with this camcorder than you would with a GH5 or especially an S1H. That's what makes camcorders so good for event coverage. The footage looks flat, but it's all in focus for the most part.
Stil have two of the panasonic sd900 1080p ,still a great cam in 2021-22 ,Do have panasonic vx990 4k but still end up going back to the sd900 as the colors are well balanced thanks to the 3mos sensor
Enjoyed your video. I have a TM700 and want to use it on an upcoming trip to Tanzania. I can't find my owners manual, and don't remember what maximum capacity SD card (32GB or 64GB) it will accept. Would you happen to know?
I still have mine and I Love it. I quit using generic batteries a long time ago..I own 2 Panasonic Original VW-VBG130 Batteries www.amazon.com/Panasonic-VW-VBG130-HDC-HS700-HDC-SDT750-Camcorders/dp/B000SCUWOY Look around for your best price.. I switch back and forth between my 2 batteries so when one is charging the other one is in the TM700. They still work great holding their charge well..at least 5 years later. All of the videos at my youtube site were shot with my TM700. Another Great feature is that I shoot in 1080P 60 fps I do not have to take still pictures at events because I can go home, download my clips and then playback on my Puter.. When I see an area that I want to get a picture from (to save or email) I pause and then go forward a frame at a time. When I get the Frame / Picture I want I click for a screenshot and I have a great Clear Picture. I use Cyberlink PowerDVD 17 to view and get Screenshots.

@@AymanBruh Yeah, it is really old now. I have way better cameras now too, but it's neat looking back at old tech especially compared with the new. That's a good idea for a new video actually. Thanks for the inspiration.
You never look in the camera. What are you looking at. I do not think you read text. There are two sorts of people. Eye watchers and mouth watchers. I always look at someones eyes and then it is very strange feeling that you are not really looking into the camera.
@@revokdaryl1 nope, mouth watchers are usually less secure. not looking at eyes prevent making more direct contact. Besides that it is also culture related. In my country not looking someone in the eyes while talking feels as disrespectful while there are other cultures that explain looking into eahothers eyes as rude and too invasive.

Cool, I haven't seen that one before. I'll have to look it up and find out more.
2023, I still have one, still works, have the big battery, works, big memory, works, bout to put it back to work. It’s unbeatable. Still. Weird, eh?
Same here! I just grabbed a 46 to 52mm stepping ring so I could use my variable ND filter with it for that lovely depth of field.

where did you get the microphone adapter? for the camcorder
It came with the camera. It was an included accessory in the box.
How did you get yours to shoot 720p and 1080p 24fps?
I'm sorry I didn't see your comment till just now. I'll have to check, give me a couple hours and I'll get back...

Does this camera have a night vision mode
No Not really, it just has three sensors that are sensitive, providing a slighty better image in low light.
