In his early days, the Exotic One looked like a movie star with a build like a bodybuilder!...at 17 years old mind you, too! He did bulk up, getting bigger and more muscular and still had a great physique the rest of his career and always was considered one of the most dangerous wrestling heels in the ring! Being shorter was actually good for him because he could move like no other, and was stronger than most guys even a foot taller! I loved how he'd give a take down followed by a headlock and gave them a skull bashing while having such a mean face on him only to rise up and prance around the ring getting everyone all riled up in the arenas hating him even more! He was a huge draw because he understood the business and had the fans in the palm of his hands knowing how to get them mad at him for his heel tactics and having the ref turn away only so that Miss Linda could get her licks in with his opponent! I am still honored to have talked to the champ for 45 minutes over the phone back in 2007 talking about his career, how he first started as a teenager, how his gimmick was born, and how I learned about him through my father and the wrestling magazines I still have today from the late 70's through the 90's. The best years were the golden era of wrestling when we used to really believe in it and for that, both baby faces and heels alike should be thanked for giving us great memories of fantastic matches they worked hard to give us!
Exotic Adrian Street was ahead of his time and one of the most underrated wrestlers alive today. He deserves to be in every hall of fame and his matches & interviews should be required viewing for aspiring wrestlers. Thank you!
Got to say it James man. I never heard of this glorious being before you have brought his absolute genius work to the light of modern day. I'm similar to you James, I am born in 1985 so I was too young to see men like this exhibit this Amazing craft. Thanks for introducing me to him and his work, I truly enjoy every word shared here. Thanks for your great work again man. Carl From Newfoundland aka The Moon.
Great comment. I, too, was born in 1985 and only discovered Adrian 8-9 years ago thanks to a few UA-cam videos here and there. It's cool that an even younger generation will discover him and others thanks to this platform, in years to come. Legendary performers like Adrian will never be forgotten. 😀
Thank you for doing these interviews. I never heard of him before this, and he's great! I feel like you bring all of Jim Cornette's stories to life with this kind of stuff
Such a talented man.I urge young wrestling fans to watch his biography on Amazon. So many American wrestlers try to follow Adrian,s flamboyant style and persona. Some can close but no one came near the in ring skills he honed.Lovely to see him on the screen and his wife Linda still looks great. One of my favourite wrestlers and well before his times.Good health Sir!
Top man James 👍 like it's been stated previously, you let the guests speak!!,plus decent questions, and a major thing, you know your subject matter very well,I know it must be very hard to get hold of British wrestlers, but it would be great to hear from Norman Smiley,Dave Taylor,Steve/William Regal.. take it easy 👍.
@@WSI Deffo!!,I know or have heard a few on YT but if you could get him,it would be superb 👍 I'm a huge fan of his from his WCW days, even briefly in WOS back on ITV,even now I go on YT and watch a lot of his WCW matches,it's been said before, total Legend, and legit tough guy. Please take it easy, and I'm enjoying your top notch Interviews.
Man , Linda still looks great ! Adrian always fit ! I had posters of them out of wrestling mags on my wall , and my Dad .....well , lets just say did not like that lol ! Im straight , but it made him question ! Along with my rock albums like Poison were he thought they were women by there look on the cover !! LOL ! It was the 80s !!!
I got dragged to Poison/Warrant by a chick. I had been to see Atlanta's funk-metal badasses Follow For Now the night before, so watching the Cherry Pie video live in front of me wasn't optimal. But yeah, I caught similar crap over Adrian, Motley Crue and Twisted Sister. Neither of my parents knew WHAT the hell to think about Wendy O. Williams, especially after the sledgehammer incident in Milwaukee.
Beat up Jimmy Saville, what a man......R.i.P Adrian Street.Remember him well from late 60s/early 70s Watching british wrestling as a kid on World of Sport.
I had heard he was a Nature Boy Buddy Rogers fan but the fans thought him girly with his long hair pulled back so he thought , " So you want girly , eh ?"
As an American, I saw him i briefly, in my home territory, Mid South, in the mid-80s, and honestly--I didn't think he was any more gender bending than Alice Cooper. I mean, the guy had a girlfriend, Miss Lynda! That told me right there he wasn't gay. I actually thought he was pretty cool myself, and a little ahead of his time. I just wondered if he deliberately chose to wrestle in places like Oklahoma and Alabama where he knew he was going to get heat? In the mid-80s, Bible Belt, you teleport a guy like him into an area like that, its gonna be to most people like an alien landing from another planet. They are either going to hate him right off the bat because he's different and wears pink, or at best, don't understand him. It was kinda like the Sex Pistols "southern strategy" when they invaded America in 1978, deliberately go into the path of MOST resistance---the lion's den, the snake pit, the belly of the beast, if you will. If he had rather started in the WWF instead when he came to North America, he may not have had as much impact, since they had seen his likes before (Gorgeous George, to name one)
he most IikeIy preferred southern wrestling because it was cIoser to the styIe hes used to and prefers to wrestle, but his gimmick definitely wouId have more resuIts there too
You're a great interviewer mate. Questions are clear, well researched and you give the interviewee space to answer properly.
Best interviewer in the game right now, by far.
He's a lovely face, skin is so clear
Adrian Street is an absolute legend. It's wonderful hearing from this superstar of British wrestling.
You are a waaaay better interviewer than that Canadian Hannibal guy. Great job! Keep it up!
Uhhh according to uh Wikipedia…. What uh do you think aboot that?

Amazing interview. Adrian Street is a real inspiration.
It's so great someone captured all these great stories on video
18 minutes? Oh you know it's going to be good! What a terrific interview. 😀👍🏻
This man is a LEGEND..... I hope I am able to meet him one day and shake his hand..
One of the most intertaining talents of our day 🤗 Thanks for all the memories Adrian 👍
Exotic Adrian Street always put on one hell of a show!

Born in 81, just discovered Mr. Street myself!
You want to check out his books mate. They are brilliant.
@@DeeJay003 I was actually looking at getting the Owen book first. Kinda hoped to get a little signed copy from the man himself.

Corny managed Adrian in Memphis
Adrian Street & Miss Linda ... legends .
The best thing about WSI is the different personalities James finds. Outstanding friend. You do fantastic
Great interview 👍
I remember him being in a tag team with Bobby Barnes and it was great seeing each of them trying to outdo the other
I loved his in- ring act😊❤ .
Adrian was light years ahead of his time.
I would love to hear Miss Linda's experience in the wrestling world and stories about the Exotic one not the wrestler.
Saw the video of Adrian and Linda visiting a sick child in the hospital. Good for them.
she was also in his "breaking bones" music video.
Mr Street A Legend...

Goldust went the furthest. Dustin wasn't a killer like Street so it takes some off of it.
He was talented, but there was and are better performers, just my opinion.
I urge you guys to send for Wrestling Archives 📕 book. Mostly about Buddy Colt but also has real stuff about others and Street is one of them!

Respect! Grunt! Is a fav movie! Was it for real?.. My friends back in school still say so. That the matches was for real! Lov de that movie.

I liked Adrian Street as a wrestler he was great when he was wrestling in continental championship wrestling in Alabama
Just like Andre Adrian was an attraction..he hit so many territories
Always loved the idea of the 'gay panic' character but that he's tough as Old boot leather
Always do your homework and are always well prepared
I think this guy....is the most AWESOME wrestler of all time. He would literally destroy a WWE locker room.
Great character
Beat up Jimmy Saville, what a man......R.i.P Adrian Street.Remember him well from late 60s/early 70s Watching british wrestling as a kid on World of Sport.
Great worker, Miss Linda was a very athletic worker
Adrian Street belongs in the WWE Hall of Fame
Is the lady at his side his wife ?
Yup, Miss Linda.
R.I.P. Adrian Street. Maybe after Ms. Linda has some time? Maybe we can hear her story.
Is there a charity that Adrian and Miss Linda/Blackfoot ? have chosen to honor their work?
How can I see full interviews?
Wow...he was close to 40 in Continental Wrestling
That poster should clearly be in a frame
I had heard he was a Nature Boy Buddy Rogers fan but the fans thought him girly with his long hair pulled back so he thought , " So you want girly , eh ?"

Does Miss Linda ever speak?
Adrian asked her a few times to confirm some questions but not really, even then it was a few words and you could barely hear her
He was inspired by Gorgeous George
I always thought he acted like Ricky Starr
HBK was the biggest infringer on his gimmick
not even cIose IoI
thatd be Adrian Adonis, Iiterally the same gimmick and half the same name
Why does it take Adrian so long to tell a story come on man spit it out
He's a bloody octogenarian, you twat!
Stupid question. You obviously do not understand age and the rigours of wrestling entertainment
@@ignatiusjackson235 The term Twat is criminally underused today, but very appropriate here, ha!
