  • Everyone who talks about vintage lenses mentions the legendary Helios 44-2 lens. So I had to have a copy too. I found a good deal with a camera and two more lenses.

    2:30 You may know all this already, and if so, I'm sorry for the unnecessary info! It's a little hard to tell, but that's almost certainly fungus in there. If it's just on the front element you're probably good if you clean everything really thoroughly, even if it's etched the glass a little bit. Just make sure you clean most of the lens surfaces you can reasonably get to inside and out, since it could be growing in other places and you just can't see it right now.

      Thanks for the info. I had no time to open the lens yet. But I will try my best. I think it is just on the front element. I heard it could also be a problem with the coating and not a fungus, but I will see.
