You can't debate people who are in full on hysteria mode. People want to believe that vaush sought out and downloaded loli because it was loli, and simply are not open to the idea that the default state is innocent until proven guilty, and that the images were not tagged properly and thus slipped past the usual tag filters. My understanding is it’s used normally for the way LGBT+ people or other marginalised groups are labelled predators purely for their identity when they’ve not actually done anything predatory. So if Ethan said Vaush was a creep for being bisexual, it’d make more sense to use the term. Except Vaush is a creep because he’s engaged in actual creepy behaviour, and that’s what he was being called out for.
It imo makes sense to have a term to describe the way people are accused of being dangerous criminals due to their gender, sexuality, ethnicity, disability, etc. I don’t know when the term originated but I think it’s been around for a while now. It doesn’t apply to people accused of being creepy due to having childlike sexualised imagery saved on their devices though. Maybe the specific term is stupid, but I think having a term makes sense in general to describe the phenomenon.

Badempanda is a bit blunt at times, but I'm also a trans person and feel he did address Keffals weaponizing her trans identity to try and shift the narrative away from Vaush having loli and that's fucking gross. When badempanda made the statement you clipped I felt it was pretty obvious he's making a deliberate point to seperate trans people from loli defending weirdos, something both Keffals and Vaush have refused to do. I know who I believe is being harmful to trans people; and it sure ain't bad empanada.
That's weird since Vaush has probably been the most effective trans advocate on the internet out of anyone. Both Keffals and Vaush are very much against loli and pedo shit, so these attacks against them come off as really weird.
Like, I think Keffals either too easily identifies with bad empanadas deliberate out grouping of loli defenders thus didn't realise he was presenting it as and out group from regular trans people, or she's deliberately trying to spin this situation into a matter of transphobia. Vaush called the trans members of his community "transgenders" and acted as if the fact he has trans fans was the reasoning behind Ethan calling his community a pedo movement. Arrogant prick didn't even watch Ethan's stream; before making the correlation on his own "response" stream. Which I can't it take as anything but throwing trans people under the bus to save his own skin.
As a quick guide to if it's okay to ask if someone is trans, that's fine but ideally show some sensitivity towards the person. I'd like to explain when having a transdar can actually cause harm, as it's for sure a niche case and I'm gonna have to use a little Jargon so please excuse that. A lot of trans people aspire to "pass" in that the goal is to not be immediately identified as trans, which leads directly to trans people who once the pass to most people may then go "stealth" which is to say; deliberately choosing to not present themselves as trans to everyone in their lives. Due to transphobia being able to influence many aspects of a trans person's life, this is often done as a way to dodge at least some of that transphobia they may otherwise experience. I don't know of any trans people I know who use stealth tactics 100% of the time, but I know it can happen. Not all trans people aspire to pass as their chosen gender, nor is it easy thing to be able to pass as a trans person in many cases. Thus those living stealth are a minority with a minority but often have very good reasons why they aim to go under the radar, so it can be harmful if you both applied trandar and no social skills as outing a trans person/raising suspicion in front of people who the person themselves is not comfortable with knowing their trans status. Basically as long as you're not using it to try and sus out trans people, it's fair enough to see certain things in a persons look, voice, etc. And then be curious about how they identify, just use your common sense and basic manners when asking how someone identifies and you're gonna be fine a in most reasonable situations. Publicly out trans people like contrapoints don't really need the same level of delicacy as trans people trying to live a stealth life style, but I'd recommend not speculating beyond asking if the person identifies as trans, as if they don't want people knowing their trans it tends to be for good reason so speculation can become an issue at that point. But as I mentioned audience is a major factor towards if speculation can lead to harm; discussion amongst friends is far different then outing someone in front of their coworkers y'know? As said, it's not hard for many people to understand when would be an appropriate time and place to ask about something personal about another person.
