Hey guys this is my regular laundry day routine with cloth diapers. A few extra things to note are:
- If you do not have access to the sun ( in winter or rainy days) you can still get most of the stains out by immediately soaking the diapers in cloth diaper safe detergent after you take it off your baby. I would also lightly hand wash before throwing in the washing machine. Soaking right away helps prevent the stains from settling into the diaper/ insert and removing the stains.
- If you're not sure if what detergent to buy for cloth diapers please refer to this website (luffloveuniversity.com) They have a ton of information on cloth diapering including a laundry detergent guide!
- The inserts I use are bamboo and hemp/cotton
- This is an exclusively breastfed baby. I will do the same and update you guys when I start dealing with more solid poop.
Please feel free to ask any questions in the comments just incase I forgot to add something!

@@de-fault4253 only a useless man would say this lol. And if youre a lady, your man is useless teehee.

I don't have children but I think a handy addition would be to install a flexible spray tap on the laundry sink, similar to those ones in commercial restaurant sink. That would make life 10x easier for mum to hose the bulk of the nasties out before it goes into the wash.
I suggest a diaper pail that sits on the toilet and a diaper sprayer. I spray my cloth diapers as soon as possible when they are poop diapers. The sprayer gets all the poop off of it.
be careful soaking them in detergent. Detergent build up can cause a rash.
Make sure you remember to strip your diapers with Dish soap. You can get ammonia burns from a buildup of detergent in your fabric. Would not recommend soaking diapers in detergent. Just rinse them out under running water and throw them in the pail with the rest of the diapers and run all of them on the longest wash with no detergent before you actually wash them.
I spray my diapers until I don't see a particle of solid. they are soaked by the time my power rinse is done. From there I do my regular 2 cycles. I don't go passed 2 days with my wash routine. Since I use wool pretty much full-time, it's delicate. I need to do the covers by hand and add the waterproofing back in.
Thanks you for the detail as i was having chocopie

Ok thanks for that I am 14 years old and I have a baby so thx for telling me how to clean those
keep your head up baby ! motherhood is hard but boy is it worth it. no matter how old you are. blessing to you and your baby❤️
I'm sorry that happened
Soaking is not recommended for cloth nappies, it actually encourages bacteria to grow and ammonia growth too. Nappies should be kept as dry and airy as possible
Which cloth diapers are you using?
This was SO helpful, thank you 🙌🏼🙏🏼
How many do you need for a newborn baby? Can somebody please advise me.
I recently saw the prices of diapers and they’re $40+ for a box. I used tk work at a day care and we did 4 regular changes in each child. If you do the math, that’s atleast 28 diapers a week. Each box has 140 and at the end of the month you’ll come near that amount. Let’s say you potty train to 2.5, that’s $1350. Let’s not forget about the Pull Up phase too. Anyway, I was thinking of different alternatives and doing some research. The amount of soap, and water, and hassle, and smell this can cause maybe may make it difficult. But you do save a lot of money even adding soaps etc. I guess biggest barrier is the smell? And daycares don’t allow this yet. Hmmm, still thinking. What yall think? Anyone that has done both
Which brand cloth diapr u use?
Chile you doing way too much😂 spray them out throw them in the wash and be done
Amazing 👏👏
Very helpful ❤ 😊.
Thank you so much
May I give some suggestion
So you line dry the inserts too? I’ve always seen drying them and line drying the covers
They sell inexpensive portable washing machine
Is that real poop ? If yes why is it green ? Is that normal ? New mom here, need all the infos..
Iron can cause poop to be green
Where do you buy your laundry soap?
Walmart
I’m looking into doing this for my almost 6 month old baby girl… I just feel like you’ll be spending more money on laundry detergent than with more washing. So I’m seriously torn she wears honest diapers or proudly diapers so i sorta kinda really don’t feel bad because they’re eco friendly. But when my daughter is ready to potty train I might revisit this or continue to look into it
We use Tide Free & Gentle powder and you’d be surprised at how little you are actually supposed to use. Most people use way more detergent than they should and it leads to detergent buildup which actually prevents things from getting as clean as they could. The box of powdered detergent lasts FOREVER. I have soft water so I only have to use 2 tbsp in my first wash and 1 tbsp in my second wash. We’ve actually saved money on detergent since starting cloth because I used to use big bottles of liquid detergent and we used WAY more than we should have been using.
You definitely end up saving money. The mama in the video used wayyy too much detergent in my opinion. It causes build up on the diapers and they can lose their absorbency. Powder detergent is where it’s at! I use Charlie’s Soap for my baby’s cloth diapers and you can get over 100 loads out of 1 bag!
How do you get the ammonia smell out of them? The instructions says I can go 3-4 days between washing . The first time I was like 2 days washed with other clothes no problem next time I went about 4 maybe and I soaked diapers for 4 hours in vinegar and baking soda. And than I think I did something else wrong because there is lent on them 😂😮😮💨 and I found out by trial and error they not Destin friendly
I would not recommend soaking them in detergent like that. You can get a buildup of detergent that locks in ammonia and can cause ammonia burns. Always wash on the longest setting with no detergent (adding a pump of dish soap to strip off any buildup) before you actually wash them. I used to work in a long-term care facilities laundry department and this is what we did for nursing home patients @@Unique71046
thank you so much i tried cloth diapers and i pooped and i couldn’t get the stain out but this worked so i am wearing one now!

Which clothe diaper are you using mam
My bf'ed 3 month old's stainy blowouts ALWAYS outweighs the liners and get in the sides... any suggestions ?
Huh nice wow i like y8ur method
do you get build up with soaking them in detergent?
Ive had them for over a year and so far no
Give me the link of leak proof diaper clothe because my baby boy is 4 month 24 days plzzz give me the link
When you soak how much water do
You use ?
enough to cover the diapers
How do you dry if you can't dry in the sun?
I usually soak and hand wash right away. Even after winter is over you can still get the stains out in the summer.
I loved this.🥰‼️💕 I did it for almost 2 and a half years. However, after the first year I started inserting two pads into the diaper to accommodate.
It works for a little bit then I had to give him up. It was just too much going on there😂.
But I would like to do this for all of my future children.
It's crazy though. As long as you wash him immediately they never stain ‼️👀‼️
Totally shocked me
how do I get these diapers please?
From amazon. I have the pocket diapers which are more convenient for me. Some brands to buy are Alvababy, le petite horse, bumgenius, nora’s nursery. They all have really good reviews.
Add maxi pads to that part?
Just wash them with marseilles soap. For stubborn stain lather with marseilles and leave it gor awhile
Why is it green?
Where’s your drying rack from?
its from a canadian store called canadian tire. but you can also find one on amazon, ikea( cheapest) and walmart
A diaper sprayer on your toilet is a GOD SEND. A bidet would also work.
How would that work? I’d be gloses out If diaper couches toilet water or if the poop sprays out lol
@Ana well the diaper already has shit in it so it's not extra gross that it's touching toilet water. The toilet water comes out clean and the toilet bowl gets cleaned regularly. But the spraying poop off takes skill. Angle the sprayer down so aby poop that comes loose falls into the toilet. Then wash the diaper as usual. .
@@LiliVamp10no people usually use a shield that goes on top of the toilet so the diaper never touches the toilet and the particles stay in the shield for the most part. No more than flushing your toilet would do
Toilet diaper sprayer!? Your toilet has a sprayer that's not a bidet? Why does your toilet have a sprayer?
@@escapedgoat5865 because I bought it lol
Taco Bell edition
Mam how do u dry them in winters r rainy days
i put them in the dryer. to get the stains out during the winter, I lightly hand wash and soak right away. If you find you still have stains, when summer comes you can put them out to dry and the sun will still take old stains out.
Awee, I will change you I don’t care if you had Taco Bell! I will change you and treat you like a 1 second year old baby!!

I like to hold the diaper in the toilet and let the toilet water do the work 😂. I do this for my dog’s diapers before putting into water and plan to do it for my future babe
Where can i find this diapers? I'm from turkey and i didn't see then anywhere.
I got mine from Amazon. I have the pocket diapers which are more convenient for me. Some brands to buy are Alvababy, le petite horse, bumgenius, nora’s nursery. They all have really good reviews.
