• Beethoven - Moonlight ...
Moonlight Sonata for Piano and Orchestra
Für Elise is undeniably one of the most popular piano pieces in existence. Elise - whoever she is - isn’t the only mystery woman in Beethoven’s life. The subject of his “Immortal Beloved” letters has also been much debated over the years.
The identity of "Elise" has eluded historians and scholars for decades. The bagatelle wasn’t discovered and published until 40 years after Beethoven’s death, so he certainly wasn’t around to tell tales of the woman who had inspired the composition. Scholars believe “Elise” must have been pretty close to Beethoven, but no one has been able to definitively prove who she really was.
Performed by Georgii Cherkin - piano

@@YavuzTheIntern cool wish I had gone there with great castle
The fact that he was able to create this masterpiece (arguably the greatest piano composition ever made) 2 years before going completely deaf is absolutely amazing!
And it was almost lost until it was discovered 40 years after his death
Fur Elise, a masterpiece! Beethoven's inner pain is felt in this composition. What he couldn't express in words, was so clearly expressed and transmitted through his music. The master of masters of classical music.
Classicoromantism
My teacher said he is in our book and I read it and our teacher told us to read it and I tried watching it and this is a MASTERPIECE!

Beethoven never does a music😂😂😂😂 thats a composition.
Ppl those day don't even know what's music, composition, melody, symphony. 😂😂😂😂
Shut up nerd
I remember hearing the track when it first came out. I was about, maybe 1435 years old? Now that I've revisited it at 1648 years old, I can say for certain that is a true masterpiece.
I hope to hear more music from you.
Beethoven was born in 1700s
@@TheTanveerGaming I said was 1435 years old. I never said I saw him play his concert in the year 1435.
If you think this is a hit, wait until you hear about Moonlight Sonata, total hit, he killing me with the silence these days, like when's the album coming out Beth? I'm dying over here.
@@brostopreadingmyprofilenam7753 I feel the exact same way. I hear one of his fans, Yoyo Ma, had made this sick album though.
@@kinggalactixBro's math ain't mathin
I'm sure he'd be well beyond exceedingly beyond pleased that people still love his music nearly 200 years later.
This is great. Elise was a student of his whom he fell for, and since she wasnt very great at piano he wrote her this simple piece that she could play. 1:05 is right about where you can hear Beethoven learning that she'd accepted another mans marriage proposal, so he made the last half far too difficult for her to play.
Brilliant
Is this a true story?
@@saadrehman2014 yeah it is. There is even a painting of Elise.
@@thewarden1398 wow.. mind blowing. Thanks
Actually, his student’s name wasn’t Elise! His handwriting was so bad, that the people read it wrong. Historian say that her name was actually Therese! 😂
Listening to this in full for the first time since learning the real backstory behind it and god its amazing. So much more appreciation to the song

I think the true art of an instrumental peace of music, is to be able to communicate what your thinking and feeling without having to say a single word. This is one song that does that splendidly.
I couldn't have put it better myself.
Great comment
Every time hear it, I can't believe how much of a peaceful masterpiece Beethoven created centuries ago with this composition. Even those who've never heard it before can't ignore this masterpiece.
It’s interesting you call the piece peaceful because he wrote it for a student he was teaching who wasn’t able to play his other music so he made it easy but he found out she was married so he made the rest of the piece extremely hard so she would never be able to play it (I might’ve missed some details so google the story to get the full picture)

Something about this piece feels so nostalgic, honest, raw, real, and pure.

This brings back memories from SO FAR BACK. I was in music class and my teacher played this song. I asked her to play it over and over (because it stirred my soul) and she did. Music is such a gift from God!!!!!

Fun fact: Beethoven was in love with one of his pupils called Therese (Elise).
She was a mediocre player and he made the beginning of the song simplistic so that she could play it. But after finding out that she was engaged to another man, he added the hard parts, so that she could never be able play it.
Is Elise a normal nickname for Therese in Germany?
😂😂😂 Hectic
I’ve seen this rumor on a few videos. I read a few articles and there’s a few stories for the origin of the song. None of them are like yours. What’s your Source? The songs not even challenging :/
Who gives a fuck, the music is legendary regardless!
So basically the title says fuck you Elise
It's a masterpiece of feeling the gentle way the piece starts and heightens as it goes. From gentle to a deep n stronger feeling. ,the surprises you as the piano washes over your body. Its not just music,,or instruments
I remember when this song came out. I was in the room, and I started to dance and smile. It was an awfully amazing song and experience. Amazing work my friend. Those were the amazing days…
1:03 best part 🔥 🔥 🔥
1:10 is so crazy. The emotion. The falling back into pattern. The recognition that not all love lasts forever. So many ways to look at it.
Good song
beethoven made it harder for elise not to learn because she was his student and he was in love with her but she didnt accept his proposal. so thats why he made it hard for her because he knew it would be hard for elise to learn.
First time ive seen someone describe the emotions they feel from a song without being ironic
Every time he "stumbles" is his breath when he sees her...

The sound mix being so quiet off the bat is very authentic to the original composer.

This has to be the greatest Symphony in history
not a symphony i don’t think
It’s Bagatelle no. 25
beethoven and mozart were the greatest musicians of all time 🤧🤧 .... but beethoven is my favorite because of his life story he is a great motivation on never giving up and to keep fighting that he never suicided even though he thought about it and wrote an almost like a suicidal note but he ended up fighting

Well said! Thank you so much!
How do you know it was "dear to his heart Lol this piece was only discovered 40 years after Beethoven's death and we know exactly nothing about it or the identity of Elise.
whether this is the original version is also debatable cause the Beethoven scholar who "discovered" this changed /arranged a lot of things.
@@InterestingStuff888 Thanks for your opinion. Regards
@@InterestingStuff888 Lol, way to show your complete lack of knowledge on the subject. It's embarrassing to read, really. Perhaps you might want to check the piece's wiki page before spouting nonsense? Do feel free to cite sources suggesting the contrary though.
Also, congrats for being wrong on both points besides the time of discovery! :)
@@5840Username my lad, the wiki article says it was discovered 40 years after Beethoven's death, that the identitiy of Elise is not clear as there are a couple of Elisabeths and Thereses whom it could be dedicated to. It also says that the scholar named Ludwig Noll who discovered this piece might have completely arranged it. no one knows. so where exactly am I wrong?

My favorite piece of Beethoven’s. Beautiful.
I can't listen to Fur Elise without fondly remember an old girlfriend of mine. We lived in Vancouver at the time and I flew home with her to visit family. I woke up one morning to the sound of this masterpiece and I just lay there listening thinking a radio was playing it. Then it stopped, I heard a throat clearing then the music continued. Curious, I got up, went to the living room and there she was, playing Beethoven perfectly on our piano. I had been with her at least a year and never knew she was a musician and a pretty darn good one. She was one of a few good ones that I let slip away. 😎
