Back in the day when I was 16 or 17 (back in 1999 or 2000) I had a 1994 Ford Exploder Eddie Bauer and I had two JL Audio W-0 15s in a sealed box with a Sony Xplod tape deck, Sony 10-disc CD changer, Infinity Kappa 5x7 split sets in all 4 doors, and at first I ran the JLs with a Kenwood 600w 2 channel amp that I ran in 2 ohm mode and it sounded OK, but I soon replaced it with a big RF amp similar to this one and it POUNDED those two JLs. I also had a buddy that had an older single cab long bed S10 and he put a cap on the bed, sealed it to the cab, removed the rear window, and put four MTX Thunder 9000 15s in the bed with a HUGE box and the ONLY sub amp he had was a small RF and that dude won so many sound awards with that truck. We would have to wear earplugs to ride in it. It was close to my two 15" Image Dynamics system that I had in my Beretta that blew out my back windshield in my school parking lot...lmao

Very cool Rob. Always good to hear about everyone's first amp love. Many times the stories are similar...working and saving up for our "dream amp". Mine was a black PPI 2150m. I treated it terribly and it just kept on pounding. Another great vid from HiFi Vega!
The 250.2 is about the same as the newer 500@2, the 250.2 was still rated with a 4 ohm load, the 500@2 is rated at a 2ohm stereo load. The 250.2 is 125 watt x 2 into 4 ohms, the 500@2 is 250 watt x 2 at 2 ohms.
Finally a Dyno vid on this model! Just got done installing the 200.2 in my car. I've heard a story of a guy that had this amp on 4 12 Jl Audio W1's. I wanna eventually see what mine can do with 2 JL 15w6's

Tis a damn good amp, that A series was and is my favorite styling fosgate has done. They made sooo many great amps in that run. The 225a2 the 500a2 the 1100a2 and the 360.6 gotta be near the top of any fosgate fans list.
I have the 500.2 I need to get fixed. It’s missing the rubber caps on the bottom where the crossover cards go. Like an idiot I had it on my highs just riding in my trunk not mounted just laying there and something got inside on of the holes. I had no idea it was that powerful or I would have ran it on my subs.

These amps are awesome I have this exact amp in my truck pushing all 4 speakers. Just picked up a Chrome Power 250.2 Brand new in box from 1998 and I cant wait to get it hooked up! 😁
Hi :) Your punch 225.2 is in really nice condition! I repaired a 225.2 and made a power test with a 4 ohm load at 13.7v supply voltage with a 50Hz Sinus tone and it does around 195 watts per channel. I made a video of that procedure. Even the big capacitors were still in good condition. I really like that rockford oldschool stuff! Best regards! Andi
I remember getting my first RF Amp which was a Series 1 4600x, then up to a 250.2 - which progressed to 800a2 and 400.4. Running them 2 right now, with FNQ1614 and Symmetry EPX2 with 28 Band. Now deciding to install my aging RFX 8130 head unit to finish it off, but not sure.

I had the gold endcapped punch 200 at 2 ohms on some soundstream spl subs it would do like 134db and in 1997 that was loud af lmao. I had painted the endcaps the same color as my car had my amps and cap mounted all pretty those were the days. Used to cost so much money back then.
Fun fact there was a batch of these amps that had a bad protect circuit, I happened to get one and had severe clip problems and had to send it to Rockford for a quick repair. It was a bit shocking to talk with the tech at the time and find out the issue. Other than that when I received it back it was quite the performer for what it was back then. I love all RF even though the prices reflect audiophile quality and design they hold my respect always as some of the pioneers of car audio greatness.
Awesome amp HV. I have a 225.2 on 2 Hx2 10s and a 360.6 on front/rear mids & highs and it’s an awesome setup. I would love to know the true numbers on the 360.6 because before I installed the 225.2 the 360.6 ran the entire system and it did a fantastic job.
Yes the 360.6 will power a modest system very well and it’s safe to say that it’s very underrated. I had two at one point but I sold it and I’m still kicking myself for doing that.

Had a 40.2 and a 160.2 and a few old school kicker card amp back in the early 2000s the catch 22 was I had the amps but no subs and when I had the system I didn't have a ride that ran but I had a some nice head phones and a good CD player a 20"haro on some 90 bmx model GT mag's five stars wheels and a 20" Fatboy on some hundred spoke's wheels
I ran my 250a2 on a 2 ohm load and ya it got hot, but never stopped giving subs the beat down....But you are gonna cause a riot with using that tightbond#1 when you know the masses use #2. 😂 good luck on that one 🙃

I bought my 1997 225. Two and they had gold in caps I remember in 1998 the next year they changed them to a darker little bit darker gray than the app itself was on the end caps but nevertheless I love the amp I had three of them in my truck and I miss him and would almost kill to get them back
Alexo yes you can run it at 2 ohms, but be careful with your gain. If you don’t have a dd-1 or Oscope you’ll have to do it by ear and make sure you’re not sending a distorted signal to your subs
HifiVega I usually use a multimeter to set my voltage at a desired RMS range. When I set the voltage at it bridged, do I set each channel individually? Or do I set them simultaneously. If you have a video on that already can you link it to me please. Or possibly make one of you don't 😁😁😁😁. Thanks! 🤙🏼

Mine is black with brushed surface. I also have the 2 links to attach it to my 800a4 and 400 with all end caps. I have never seen the solid grey before

Class a/b routinely dips into the 40’s as far as efficiency goes in lower ohm loads

I was always lil curious about 360.6 myself, but I think it’s safe to say it’ll exceed rated.

It was my first amp also. Ran mine at a 2.6 ohm load bridged all day. Although it wasn’t supposed to be bridged lower than a 4 ohm bridged.
In the late 90's my rockford dealer did 2.66 mono all the time on punch. Only did 2ohm on the power series.

I had the slightly older 400.4 and a 250m and several punch 100s and a 75. Cant really ever go wrong with a Fosgate. Better than JL all day long.

The grey end bells were only for one year maybe 96 or 97 and the gold were 2 years I believe

What's the proper way to adjust the 2 gains when you bridge it mono?
A DD1 makes it super easy, but if you don’t have that you can set the gains with a multimeter to match.

Those series were great amps, but watch for the ones that were made cheaper when they started selling them in Best Buy.
I think we need to do a side-to-side comparison to put this to rest.
