- Hi guys and welcome to a special edition update showcasing my Black Friday haul. Seems like so long ago now we've started a new decade. Here we have my very first Vinegar Syndrome order joining the collection, as well as pickups from other cult labels like Eureka!, 88 Films, Scream Factory, Criterion Collection, Nameless Media and the mighty Arrow Video.
I've filmed a second video highlighting what has joined my Movie collection during the month of December (excluding this Black Friday bonanza) so sit back and enjoy both at your leisure, and as always, thanks for watching!

Thank you. Yeah now it's all rearranged A-Z I'm planning on doing another room tour - probably in April. It'll be a full year since the last one so it'll be nice to show how it's all changed in those 12 months 👍

Yeah dude, their slips are very cool. Limited too and they go for a packet on eBay once sold out on site. If you like one and it's on their website, you should grab it while you can 👍

I got the Robocop steelbook and the box set. I replaced the plastic case with the steelbook, it fits perfectly and looks pretty cool too.
I didn't knew of Vinegar Syndrome!! I'm ordering some blu-rays like right now. Including the Amityville curse collection.

This is very enjoyable
I was really impressed with VS myself. Wasn't keen on much of their selection at first, but saw they did Lust In The Dust which is one of my guilty pleasures. And WOW - what a step up from the lame DVD I had before! And nice homage and extras of Paul Bartel, which to me is still a unsung hero of Hollywood.

I ordered loads of films from Criterion, Eureka and Arrow. They were for the most Film Noir and early cinema which I love. Ordered another 7 yesterday which should be arriving on Thursday.
Think I'm gonna need a bigger boat. 🤣

FYI those red BluRay cases aren't too hard to find. Espescially in the US. So if you really want to have your collection consistent....which I understand completely....
Thanks for the info mate. 88 Films are in the UK so I guess they couldn't secure enough of them locally to fulfill orders. It's good news collectors can still track down empty red cases for consistency if they wish 👍
Just wanted to let you know that I love your vids, and you got me back into buying physical media again. I was a big collector with a huge dvd collection. I did the unthinkable a few years back and got rid of all dvd boxes and paper covers and just kept the discs. (I know, I know!!). I was unaware of Arrow video and indicator until I watched your vids, I've now got most of the Arrow boxsets as well as some great Indicator titles. Thank you for making me see the error of my ways! Keep the vids coming bud! Best wishes from Old Blighty! ;)

Terrific video, thank you! Just one thing: Crime Story is not in any way related to the Police Story series. And those are only vaguely connected at best. 1, 2, and 3 (“Supercop”) are the only ones with any sort of continuity, as far as I know. YesAsia is the best spot to get Police Story 3: Supercop - a fairly nice 4k remastered transfer. But I hear you about wanting the complete set before you dive into them. You can safely watch Crime Story though. Cheers, and here’s to another year of great physical media releases. 👍🏻

Wilsonian Movie Museum No worries, I recently started collecting Jackie Chan titles again after the various 88 Films/Eureka/Criterion releases. Back in the ‘80s (and ‘90s?) a tremendous amount of Jackie Chan movies got “sequels” or “spinoffs” on video that had nothing to do with the original(s). At worst with a picture of him on the cover (from the original)... but no Jackie in the actual movie. So a _little bit_ of that probably contributed to the title “Crime Story.” Obviously this happened with ‘Bruce Lee films’ as well, to a far more disturbing degree, with imitators after he’d passed away. Anyhoo, no longer an issue aside from perhaps some super early DVDs from dodgy release labels, just a random ‘discovery’ whilst looking around for his classics. Hope some of that made sense. Enjoy Crime Story and the other Jackie Chan treats! 😀
Yukikaze are the recent 88 film Jackie chan transfers any good? The slips look great and I was wondering about buying them.
Pepe smith The ones I’ve seen have been very good. 2k/4k scans with little to no tinkering, can’t really ask for much more when it comes to older Hong Kong titles. Or any catalogue title, for that matter. I would check out a couple. :) Just make sure you have a region-all Blu-ray player.
Yukikaze 88 films are region B anyway aren’t they? Just I’m from the UK so that shouldn’t be an issue.

Thanks mate. Yeah we're lucky the fires aren't too close to us but the devastation is terrible. Lives lost and homes destroyed. My thoughts are with those affected.

Great pickups... :) If you are a big Verhoeven fan, check out 101 Films from UK. They have a great line-release called Black Label. In that line you can find Verhoevens Black Book. Fantastisk movie!! Had not heard of it before i picked it up (on recomandation), and it caught me by a huuuge suprise. I consider it one of his best films! :)
Cheers dude. Yeah I have a few 101 titles - the most recent was a copy of Howard The Duck (regrettably 🤣). I've got a copy of Black Books on DVD - I think it was released by Tartan years ago but honestly I don't really remember the movie. Probably due for a rewatch I reckon seen as I was probably too young to appreciate it first time round 👍

Holy crap - what a deal you got on Arrow!!! I just got their Slaughterhouse Five, and can't say I'm too impressed. Looks much like the DVD I had, and the extras are a nice touch, but not much. And for $40.44CDN the cheapest I could find, is really disgusting! Tideland is TWISTED! I'd like to check out many of their titles still like Tideland, Andromeda Strain, Robocop, etc. But the prices are ATROCIOUS for me still. If I could've scored them for $6 a piece like you did, I wouldn't complain at all! LOL
Damn dude that is a lot for Arrow titles. Similar situation with Scream Factory releases - to get them imported here to Australia is about $50 AUD a pop. That's why it's always great to snatch a bargain when you can 👍
hey man :) as Always - lovely video^^ i wonder if you ever do sell doubles of your Collection (i don't think of EXACT doubles but for example if you've got to many types of one movie in your Collection?
Thanks man! Nah, never sell my doubles... or triples... or tenths 😂. If it's an exact duplicate I'll give them away to friends. A few occasions I've ordered duplicates of Arrow titles by mistake and when I realise I already have them, I gift them to friends here in Australia. As for duplicate movies... if the box, artwork or content is different, I'll keep them editions. I like how it shows the progression of the collection and how it's grown over the years. Cheers.

Hi Sir, great pickups as always! Maybe it has been asked before, but I am curious - how do you keep track of your orders and usually how many of them never arrives so you need to ask for a replacement? And what about damaged ones? I think I never saw a damaged movie in you pickup updates, whilst I usually get 2-3 out of 10 damaged (case broken, or beat up) - do you have replacement cases for these situations?
Thanks Richard. Just old school pen and paper for the orders I've placed. Once they turn up, I cross them off the list. In all the years I've been ordering online there may have been only a handful that never showed up. Same for damaged items too. I'm usually very lucky when it comes to items turning up mint. I know a lot of people have problems with Zavvi but so far I've been very lucky and only ever had 1 steelbook turn up damaged. In the past there may have been a few from Amazon that didn't survive the journey in their crappy bubble mailers but apart from those, I think I'm very fortunate with how items turn up generally. Sucks to hear you get a lot damaged. One fella I speak to who lives in Brisbane is forever getting things damaged too. Ordering online is definitely a gamble with how things show up, sadly 👍

One other thing to point out about VS and their unusual titles, "9 Lives Of A Wet Pussy" is Abel Ferrara's (Bad Lieutenant, King Of New York, etc.) first 'directorial' debut. It's indeed a low budget porno, and Abel's name has since been removed from the promo's I guess for legal reasons. But for die hard Abel fan's that really want to see his 'grass roots' so to speak...
Haha surprised he didn't call it Drill Her Thrill Her 🤣 Bad joke. Yeah there's a place for those softcore movies, especially the ones with recognisable names attached to them, and I respect VS for offering them to collectors but for me, despite being a bit a perv, I just can't see myself sitting down in an evening to watch 9 Lives of a Wet Pussy. Not when I've got such a backlog of movies waiting to be watched.
I did pick up his "Driller Killer" special edition elsewhere, and it's a hard watch as I'm not into the gore stuff really. But is interesting to see Abel act, and pull off the movie as he did. But yeah, a cheesy porno I don't think could be too insightful even if it was done by Stanley Kubrick or Martin Scorcese. You certainly have BETTER things to watch indeed! :)

Thanks Richard. No, I don't use any site to log my collection but I have recently started using the CLZ Movies app - more so to keep track of what hasn't yet been watched so I don't end up buying the same movie twice.

The thing with Arrow is you are never sure you get the booklet etc. I hate that. Powerhouse Indicator is MUCH better, always a booklet till a title is sold out.
Too true dude. Unless you buy the first pressing on launch I guess it's always a gamble if an Arrow title will have the booklet or not. I see it as an added bonus if it has one but I'm not too cut up about it if it doesn't. I guess it's the price you pay for waiting for the titles to drop in price and enter the sale. I know if I really wanted the booklet I'd have to buy full price on release.
I jumped on that zavvi arrow sale £6.50 each and buy one get one free a bargain I only got 10 not as many as you

@@darrenhoughton1515 Unfortunately there's fires still burning all around the State I live in. On Saturday we woke up to what we thought was fog but was smoke blown by the nearest fire about 70km away. We're safe where we are but so many haven't been so fortunate sadly.
I,m in nsw and we are on the vic border. Fires are about 10 km from us just waiting for the evacuation.
@@darrenhoughton1515 that's terrible news dude. Hope you and yours stay safe and your home is OK. My parents in law were also close to one just before Xmas. We had to help them keep watering their property to stop burning embers on the wind from landing on their home. Luckily that fire is out now. Stay safe dude.
