Yoongi is the only Korean artist to ever chart under 3 names, Agust D, SUGA, and of course BTS.
I never pay attention to this!😱😱😱💜💜💜
@@ruchigupta2868 he didnt chart any songs under the name Gloss. It was his underground name yes but no charts 😊
🤯
He writes, composes , produces his own songs and also for other big artists
And hes a very good rapper
@@coolypetzz i dont think good is appropriate word to describe him as a rapper...he is beyond best☺️
@@taetaebear507 yes he is 👑
@@coolypetzz 💜
Yes he does the breathing thing on purpose, as the producer of his own songs and MVs he makes really interesting style choices like that. The musical choice is sheer genius to me, using the actual historical Daechwita musical instruments used to announce a king and referring to himself as a “king and boss”. Using the mad king who is corrupted by greed and power and juxtaposition with the young commoner/rebel who is trying to stay true to the people and killing his own greedy mad king. Genius. Plus the actual song is catchy. Suga and his rapping and musical skills is a big part of the foundation of why BTS is so successful (along with RM who contributes even more to BTS songs). All his solo work is top tier.
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰✅✅✅✅✅✅✅❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The explanation that he gave for the killing was he was "killing" off the old him that was angry and had things to prove and replaced him with the more mature, happier version of himself, that has nothing to prove to anyone.
DAT
✨✨
He also said, ‘we don’t know if the King is dead’
crying in the club tonight over yoongi's writing of his songs. he resonates so hard.
@@larewi6765 WAIT DID HE
Suga, AGUST D, likes to play/use with his breath when he sings/raps and it sounds so good!!!
The “Daechwita” music video was actually filmed in a famous and well-preserved historically-themed location called the Dae Jang Geum Park in South Korea. It was built to showcase how South Korea used to live in the past.
It is a film set built in 2005, and named after the titled character of a kdrama when it opened to tourists in 2011. Over 30 K-dramas have been filmed here. Suga is a fan of the historical dramas.
It looks like the king's palace.
"NOW HE GOTTA GUN?!?!" 🤣🤣 lmfao and your recap at the end? That was friggin great 💜
Ikr?🤣🤣
Lol so fun!!!!!
“How much drip does he have?” The limit does not exist for Agust D!
Yay! I’m so glad you enjoyed it! Watching these are only furthering your theory that they’re not real. You had valid points!
He actually uses his breath in very interesting ways in many songs, def think he's very deliberate with those things (breathing heavy in "Blooming youth", the double gasp in "first love" like he's sobbing in Mozart's lacrimosa). And I always love his histrionic laughs
His delivery is what made him stand out to me. The little squeaky voice flips are my favorite, esp when he turns into aggressive Agust D ready to assault our ears.
Watching their solo performances great !
Rm- persona or joke
Suga - this daechwita or shadow
Jhope- ego or chicken noodle soup
Jin- epiphany or awake
Jimin- lie, serendipity or filter
V- stigma or singularity
Jk - euphoria or my time
Pretty sure "W" is silent in Korean FYI
Daechwita is a style of traditional ancient Korean music that was played when royalty (the king) was moving or the military (Army!) was marching. He sampled actual Daechwita for the song.
He has incredible breath control, if you hear him making gasping noises its 100% on purpose
There's a decent explanation vid by DKDKTV here on UA-cam that explains a lot of the cultural/historical/other context behind the song and vid
Even if it were silent, he was pronouncing it Daechwi-TWA. It killed me inside hearing it everytime but I'm glad he was still enjoying himself xD
w is part of the vowel sound wi [wee], wo [woe], wa and wae. There is no separate W sound or letter in Korean.
in korean, the w sound is made by combining vowels (ie; 오 (oh) + 아 (ah) = 와 (wah)) so its generally more subtle than it would be in english! for non-korean speakers, its fine to just skip over the w, unless its at the beginning of a syllable (which in the case of dae-chwi-ta, its not!) :))
Nah they do pronounce Ws combining the vowels u or o with a or ae. Like wae or even Daechwita pronounces the w but more subtle
The deachiTWA got me-😭
Agust D's Agust D is dope too. It was way back 2016 so the budget of the MV is not as high as this one but the song and MV are still so fire!
Yoongi aka Suga (sounds like Shu-ga) was an underground rapper before he became a trainee (he went by Gloss, but we don't talk about that name 😂). He was also a part of a group of rappers which were named Daegu Town Boys. That's the name of his (and Taehyung's (V's)) hometown, Daegu. His alter ego Agust D represents both his personas that make up him as an artist. This video has a lot of references and symbolism as well as story and historical references. Be sure to check out the explained video by DKDKTV.
Fun fact, the guys fighting in the back are actually Jin and Jungkook from BTS with Jin wearing a fake beard. Love your reactions. 💜
Bookish Theories is a better explanation
@@Lizpowell111 That’s true, and then to top it off, listen to Suga himself with the Bangtan Bomb, to help you understand where he was coming from.
@@Koko-re7pg the string is a gayageum, you can find pictures of it online, I think there is also a jongguem, which is flute type instrument. Others will have more knowledge than me
Yes! That is his style . He uses his voice a lot
Im glad you pointed out his ability to switch the flow on a consistent beat to add contrast to the song. He's playing two parts, a mad king and a peasant rising to take the kings place.
You know he wrote, composed and produced both of his Mixtapes that he uploaded for FREE on SoundCloud. Actually all the members have individual songs but only Suga, RM abd J-Hope have full mixtapes. Jungkook is reportedly dropping his first soon. But Suga/Agust D is something special. Talent in so many areas it’s crazy. You should watch the behind the scenes of this video. He even took sword dancing classes for that few secs it is on the screen. Perfection. 💜
In my opinion, Suga the most gangsta outta all of them 😂 U gotta check out the Cyphers with Suga, JHope and RM. He kills every single one of them
Min Yoongi is a genius musician and producer. I love everything about his music. So original and really made me fall in love with rap. BTS rap line is truly top tier.
SAME!! I literally saw them live and I STILL don't believe they're real! 😅 TOO PERFECT 💜💜💜
Check out the cyphers 1-4! You'll be impressed 100%
Suga def has a breathing and squeak-type style and it's so sick
Agreed, You'll find out after Cypher 2 that Suga doesnt need air
My fave is Cypher 4 - heavy rotation in my car!
This needs a follow up reaction to the explanation video because there’s a ton of clever cultural references and wordplay. You might want to check that if you are interested.
Suga is a genius. This song has a lot of meaning behind it. The guys fighting in the beginning were Jin and Jungkook of BTS. You should check out the explanation of Daechwita. Great reaction!
Fun fact
This song is so epic because of the fact that Min Yoongi aka Suga aka Agust D is a direct descendant of royalty.
"he's sounds like out of breath but seems like intentional.. " lmao
BTS - cypher part 1-4 pls especially part 2 🤭
The guy that bumps into him and the one that gets in a fight with him after were 2 of his fellow BTS members, Jin and Jungkook. Their little cameo was cute.
Suga of BTS, or Agust-D - in Deachwita played both parts, the mad king beheading many and the rebel rapper. Suga - what a talent, a top rapper, very expressive dancer, sings, plus he produces shows and stage productions, writes & creates music for BTS and other performers. He is truly unique. You might also enjoy the post-production interview with Suga at temple in the kings dress: Agust D 'D-2' Mixtape Interview
ua-cam.com/video/qLw8gLqf0bE/v-deo.html Suga leaves interview with questions, did the bullet kill the kings, what happens with the rebel rapper. Sounds like Daechwita II might be in the works.
Your reaction made me happy. I'm just sittin' here smiling. Most of AgustD's raps are too harsh to my ear and the MV's chaotic to my eyes (I'm old, the fact I'm learning to enjoy rap gotta count for somethin', right?) But this one I have watched several times and sat along with many reactors. I love the cadence, the music, the lyrics (embracing his more mature side as he comes to grips with being a celebrity with clout), and of course the Indiana Jones ending.
There's a video about making this video which I found informative. He pushed hard to make his vision come to life. The unusual instruments are traditional Korean instruments (drums and horns).
Yoongi such a big artist!! Happy u react to this masterpiece!
The fact u are saying "Daechitwwwa" all along the video, I can't 😂
Hi from France
I really enjoyed your reaction! SUGA/Agust D is such a multi-talented artist (I agree it's hard to believe he's/they're real!) This track was released in 2020, please react to his self-titled song Agust D, off his first mix tape released in 2016 it is also FIRE.
Suga king of stage, commander of stage, Suga live is 🔥🔥🔥
Daechwita is a genre of Korean traditional music played by wind instrument called Taepyeongso is horn played during royal occasions n entertainment n military events.
He is currently the most sought after producer in the world...
You should watch his explanation video of the MV..
You made me laugh so much with “this ain’t self love it’s betrayal” loved it!!
Your reactions are so hilarious 🤣 that recap of the video was the best
OUR KING SUGA BABY'S RAP IS THE MOST UNIQUE ON THE PLANET AND THE ONLY RAPPER ON THE PLANET
THAT RAPS LIKE THIS...IT'S NATURAL AND UNIQUE TO OUR KING SUGA/AGUST D/YOONGI/MIN YOONGI/LIL MEOW MEOW OUR LIL KITTY...TAEGI AND BTS KINGS FOREVER AND EVER.
Agust D via Time Magazine:
I usually make beats first, for “Daechwita” as well. [My music] starts from a vague, interesting imagination. It’s played for King’s visit or army marching. Oh? BTS and ARMY [BTS' fans]. This is it! Should I make a track with this? That was the start of “Daechwita.”
The guys fighting behind him are fellow BTS members JK and Jin in a famous cameo! Great reaction!
Yeah its intentional , Suga have a great great voice control
Hello ! Thanks for reacting to this . First of all, Suga is pronounced Shoo-ga ( he used to play basketball in high school and was a shooting gard , hence Shoo-Ga = Suga ) and secondly, Daechwita is pronounced Dechita ( not Dechitua). But honestly you did pretty good for a first timer. It’s not that simple when you are new to BTS. If you enjoyed this video, check out BTS’s Mic Drop ( from 2017), it was inspired by President Obama’s famous speech from 2016. I’m sure ARMY ( BTS’s fandom) will love watching you discover this amazing group ( try to avoid calling them boy band cause they are wayyyy more than that ). Thank you sir.
Agust D has this deep raspy voice, but he squeaks sometimes, but it sounds intentional
You might want to react to 'Agust D Daechwita mv making' . The behind the scenes are great . He even has a sword dancimg practice video.
Yeah he put so much effort into the sword dance and it looks awesome! 💜
Your excitement for this was infectious! One of my faves! Great reaction. 💜
I've watched a number of reactions to this. Thank you. Your personality and genuine engagement with the video made it a fun experience!
In the beginning the 2 guys fighting in the background are Jin and Jungkook who are also members of BTS.
AGUST D (SUGA) has his first mixtape back in 2016 which is " AGUST D" and yeah the two men fighting on the background is his co-members on BTS, Jin and Jungkook.
"yeah, my skin is clean. yeah you want to touch?" -Jin 😂
Yeah that wheeze was definitely intentional in this song. He usually doesn’t have it, but he’s always finding interesting ways to use his voice as an instrument.
He’s from Daegu, D-Town. The AgustD is D-Town Suga, shoo-ga. He got Suga from Shoo(ting) Gua(rd). He’s a baller. He’s also my future husband. He’s amazing.
Deh-schi-tah lol. It’s the music that plays when royalty is entering. That’s why you hear classic historical sounds. I can’t think of the word for old music.
The two fighting in the market at the beginning of the song are Jin and JungKook lol. They have a ton of little Easter eggs in all their videos. The drawing on the scroll is how one of them drew Hitman Bang on their variety show. That’s their founder/producer/former CEO. He created them and they pay homage to him all the time. There is so much historic and cultural references in this video. Little things like the jade and the copper and the clothing. They’re all symbolic. This man is a genius and put thought and meaning into every syllable and every second of the video.
I love your comments about the MV
You MUST listen to “Ddaeng”. It’s not an officially released song, but it’s by (BTS) Suga, RM & Jhope. You can find it on SoundCloud and UA-cam. IM OBSESSED. RMs verse at the end sends me every time. The flow is so good.
Please check out the explanation video. Even if it's off camera. It makes it even better. Thank you for your reaction!
Suga doesn’t walk. He struts. Fact!
BTW: those two fighting in the background were Jin and JK from BTS as extras. 🤣
Hii
I hope u read this
I know this is wayyy to late 😂 but
Glad u like it 💜

And honestly some of them are pretty underrated and TRUST ME.. just TRUST MEE
You will love them 💜😊
Lmao don't mess with Suga/Yoongi/AGUST D. Oxygen becomes a joke when he performs. His verses and phrases are usually so long before he takes a breath.
There is a show called Kingdom in Korea. They used that set for the music video and the director and lighting director from that show worked on the music video as well.
fun fact: suga's great great grandmother was the last empress in south korea. So he have that royal blood flowing into his body. "im the king im the boss" yeah its suga haha
Think he is a direct descendant of her too. Like if the throne was still around he would be Emperor of Korea right now
@@SmilingLittleBud yeah ur right. theres areliable article where it shows the timeline of the late empress, and suga's name (min yoongi) was in the bloodline that can sit down on the throne after generations before him. suga also mentioned in one of his live that his grandmother was the last empress of korea.
This isn't true, please can we stop repeating it.
The last empress of Korea was Empress Sunjeonghyo of the Haepyeong Yun.
When people repeat this claim they're usually referring to Empress Myeongseong/Queen Min, who was actually the second or third to last (the first wife of Emperor Sungjong was given the title of Empress posthumously).
Both Empress Myeongseong and Suga are from the Yeoheung Min clan but there's no indication that they're related in any meaningful way (much like Jin and V are both from the Gwangsan Kim clan), and he's definitely not a direct descendant as a) her only surviving child died in 1926 without issue and b) any descendants would belong to the clan of her husband, the Jeonju Yi clan (which a whole bunch other other idols including IU and Taemin belong to), and specifically to the House of Yi.
This is fake news, he is not blood related to the royal family
It's more accurate to say that he's directly descended from the same clan [the Yeohueng Min clan] that produced (I believe, 3 of) Korea's queens, but he's not in the royal line bc the queen's children would be part of the emperor's clan/House, and the last emperor came from the Jeonju Yi clan, which was the last Korean royal clan and the _only_ royal House of the Joseon Dynasty.
And bc there's only ever been 1 prominent "Min" clan in Korea's history, it's easily argued that any full Korean, with the surname Min, today are also descended from that same clan. And a census found that over 100,000 households belonged to the Yeoheung Min clan in 2015.
The place is called Yongin Daejanggeum Park in Yongin-gyeonggido south korea, you should visit here its awesome. The instrument in background used include nabal , nagak, and taepyeongso with jing , jabara and yonggo.
fun fact: the instrumental is just one beat repeatedly playing, his flow is what makes it sound different
Loved your reaction 💜 Waiting for more BTS reactions
this was best reaction video I've seen to this video. honest reaction- picking up on details just on first round. showing respect to the artist and his efforts. great content.. thank you
I appreciate that! Glad you enjoyed 💯
This song is so amazing 🤩. The beats the flow the everything is awesome 🔥💜 suga my bias he got unique voice.. very genius.. best producer.. songwriter.. multitalented.. masterpiece.. fast rapper.. best rapper.. tongue technology..Rap god.. king swag.. korean eminem 😍🥰🤩🔥💜
Yessss, the way he uses his breath in songs is really cool
This is one of the most joyful reactions I've seen. Thank you!
I just love your reaction!
Subbed for the intro alone, it was fantastic.
Thank you for having subtitles on 😂
Nice reaction! Your camera is CLEAN 👌🏼
Gosh love your commentary. You point out so many things we all notice & not all reactors would even mention. 👏🏼👏🏼 😄
If your gonna go and do BTS solos please do each members song recommendation below:
Solo songs by each member :
Solo (by V) - singularity & stigma (stage mix version)
Solo (by RM) - joke
Solo (by jungkook - euphoria
Solo (by Jin) - ephipany
Solo (by jhope) - daydream or chicken noodle soup
Solo (by suga) - daechwita (DONE)
Solo (by Jimin) - serendipity (stage mix version)
So glad you enjoyed it! It's my favourite of the solos.
you did more research than most reactors which is cool. definitely will subscribe.
React to 'Agust D' by Agust D music video released on 2016 . He went harder on that one.
" I NEED PART TWO! I NEED PART TWO.."
Yeah same mood.. Me too
Your reactions are a breath of fresh air. Very entertaining. Thank you 😊
Also, daechwita = fanfare = that music that plays when announcing the arrival of royalty. Play it louder - king coming through - but who is the king, who's the boss? The crazy tyrant chopping heads off or the one that rose up with the people that grew an ARMY behind him from the common folk? :) banger, killer, but also thoughtful.
i love this reaction sm
This is THE masterpiece ! THE production ! Also as a side note , I’ve read that the light breathiness/lisp is a from his regional accent (like Americans have southern or Boston accents ) + his style
I just wanna say, i am proud of you for looking him up before reacting. It shows how genuine of a reactor you are. It shows you aren't doing it just for views. I am definitely subscribing.
Min Yoongi is a fucking god, I dare you to change my mind.
Hi, I just found your chanel and I like it! Thank you for this react :)
Daechwita is so good!!!!!
This reaction made my day, I loved it
You are the cutest thing 🥰🥰 I love your reactions!!!!! Followed! Thanks for giving him some love :) xoxo
Quick comment about Nega, Naega, and Niga usage in Korean language. It often sounds like they are saying offensive "n-word" when used quickly in the songs, but Nega/Niga is the Korean word for "you" and Naega is the word for "I". Often people first introduced to the k-pop songs/styles are shocked to hear those words often and used casually. Also, AgustD is "savage" Suga. I love AugstD/AugstD song and video for when I just need to vent at the world. It's an excellent "put the haters in their place" song.
Jin and Jungkook make an appearance at 3:23. Check out the 2 guys fighting in the background. I think Jin looks hot with a beard. Watch the making of Daechwita for lots of fun info including the Sword Dance practice.
I cracked up loud when you said he can spit in your face “if it makes my skin look that good.” Ha ha ha ha ha. Lol. I’m dying. Still laughing. Love your sincere and genuine enjoyment for BTS. (Male 44 year old BTS ARMY)
The vocalists of BTS do that, too. I've never heard any other singers who use their breaths as part of the singing rather than just trying to hide it.
This is crazy I watch your show reactions and now your listening to SUGA!!!!!
Fun reaction. Thank youuu
4:20 the woman on the left u mentioned is actually the stylist fun fact
Daechwita is a style of music in Korea reserved for royalty. By "Play it loud, Daechwita", he's calling himself a king
Yoongi (suga/agustD) in a Vlive said that to know what happened we have to wait for the next mixtape... and here we are still anxiously waiting...
Haha this was really enjoyable to watch! More rapline reactions, please!! BTS Cypher part 1 through 4 are a must, then Outro: Tear live performance. And a bunch of others but I reccomend starting there. :)
Been thoroughly enjoying your rxn during your journey into the rabbit hole. If you wanna explore more in-depth about this song, I highly recommend two explanation videos from these channels: Bookish Theories and DKDKTV. The Bookish Theories is more about the concepts and aligns more with Suga's intent (she includes his behind the scenes interview of his mixtape and this song in particular) and DKDKTV's interpretation is slightly off BUT is great at explaining contemporary slang terms, references, and idioms that a foreigner would completely miss.
We all need part 2! AgustD is a genius
this is a good one to react to! i think you'll like mic drop (steve aoki remix) from or Idol next -- both from BTS. mic drop is a big hype song with great flows, and Idol's instrumentals are similar in style and inspo to daechwita. love your videos 🤗💜
The instrument in the background which you liked is a taepyeongso, a type of short metal horn used for the "daechwita" music played to herald the king.
Basically it’s about facing the agust D of his past and killing that past off
And the W in Daechwita is silent
I actually waiting for more your reaction to BTS music. I really enjoyed your reaction :)
9:04 I love when his voice goes deep
I enjoy your reaction to BTS. New subscription . More BTS reaction please. Big hug from Spain
You should listen to 'Agust D' by agust d and 'The Last' by him as well if you wanna get more into it.
Also bts has a rapline of three members (which suga is a part of) and the other two members, jhope and rm, both release solo tracks and mixtapes as well. They have such different styles of rapping yet it all works so well when they come together. For solo songs I suggest you listen to RM's 'Joke,' 'Moonchild' and 'Intro: Persona' and Jhope's 'Airplaine' 'Baseline' and 'Daydream.' For the raplines songs together, you should listen to 'UGH' 'Outro: Tear' and Cyphers 1-4. They are all so talented, its insane, and it'd be a shame if you didnt check them all out. The vocal members also have a lot in store.
You mentioned how yoongi has this confidence about him in the mv and whether he puts that on or not. To answer that- kind of? Yoongi has been known to be the least energetic/ most intimidating of bts but that's not even entirely true, and its kind of a stereotype that ppl put on him. When he plays AgustD, he does have a certain coolness and swag around him, but honestly he's just a regular person like anyone else.
