I loved this video. My favorite pro art was your outdoor walk in which you found the wild garlic. I liked the still photo of the failed banana bread on the Percy Pig plate. Ed was so brave to try that " Lime " milk. And he had an ample amount of decorum to not just gasp and spit it out. Your Chinese meal looked scrumptious. And now I want some but have nothing like it right now. My trip to Aldi is in the morning!!!!😜

I started cooking for my eighty-one year old daddy with olive oil because he has DVT in his legs and lungs. Olive oil has polyphenols that improve circulation and help to burn fat. Daddy is improving nicely on his blood thinner and blood pressure meds.

Golden syrup is partially inverted refiners syrup. It's not made from corn. Soy sauce is labelled as " contains gluten" as flour is used to carry the koji when its added to the beans, but at the end of the process it will not test positive for gluten as the protein has been fully hydrolysed.

High Fructose Syrup is usually made of corn. It can be made from other things but seeing as it is America; it's corn. Never made from sugar. It was developed during a time when sugar prices became too high and large food companies looked for a cheap means to sweeten food.

    • @mumthings

HFCS isn't readily available in North America; it's a commercial/industrial food product. The corn syrups you can buy for cooking and baking are not "high fructose," and, sadly, the golden variety doesn't taste anything like Lyles. Lyles used to be easier to find where I am in southern Ontario, Canada, but now it's really only available in specialty shops at offensively high specialty prices. These days, if I need golden syrup, I just make it from sugar and lemon.☺

Depending on the wee ones taste - I quite often use gochujang if I need a bit of garish red. Korean 'chilli' paste - but the stuff you get in supermarkets here is more on the sweet variety so not really spicy at all (more like paprika heat at most). And tends towards the day-glo side of things. But in theory it's fermented and shizzle, so you can tell yourself it's great for your gut biome. #winning #possibly

@@mumthings make beetroot powder at home. Wash beets, slice about 1/4 inch slices, and dehydrate (if you do not have a dehydrator), you can use your air fryer at 125 degrees F/52 degrees C; it will take 8-10 hours depending on the humidity, let cool and use a grinder or food processor to powder. Store in an airtight container. Check your powder for a couple of days to look for clumping. If that happens, then dehydrate the powder for an hour or two. It costs cents and time. I dehydrate and powder veggies all the time it takes up less space than freezing. Worth it!

    Hi Claire
I really wouldn't worry about the sugar or food colouring. All your meals are cooked fresh from scratch you guys eat loads of fruit and veg.
I made a huge batch of jam with the fruit I had in the freezer and I had a comment about sugar. Yes i done loads of small jars but for one we share it out (iv already gave 6 jars away) and 2 it lasts ages so not as if we having it all in one go.
The chai sui pork looks AMAZING.
I couldn't cook rice to save my life so love my rice cooker ! It gets used at least once a week and I love fried rice. I got some red sticker pork steaks and think il do them this week 😋
I love eds contribution and the 'banter' between you both 😂
