  • Chapter 4/4 - We sit down with Manuel - the director of Childrens Cup in Belize - to find out more about the country and the issues it faces, as well as how Childrens Cup is helping to break the poverty cycle in the country. We also explore the community of Port Layola where we meet some local kids who share about their life in the heart of Belize City.

    As a Belizean I really appreciate people like Manuel. He came from El Salvador to make Belize his home. What loss for El Salvador. What gain for Belize.

    The serious problems we see in Belize is not solely the fault and responsibility of the parents but the society as a whole.
    It is a reflection of the failure of government and the society to provide the environment for growth and success.
    Lack of commitment. Corruption breeds many woes and spreads its tentacles into all corners of our society.

    realistically speaking, the south and belize city are the places with the most poverty, whilst the west and north are fine

    • @ednadiaz4193
      @ednadiaz4193 2 місяці тому +4

      Really? Realistically speaking what do you mean by " the west and north are fine"? How would you define "fine"? Is it not a real issue when there are those both in the north and west who barely keep up? Survival mode means "your doing fine"?
      The reality is that all over the country there is poverty.
      Hard working people who barely survive even if they work as hard as they can.
      The sad reality is that many think that this is 'ok'. It's normal. It's what they deserve. 😢

      You’re out of touch with reality in Belize, simply because poverty is more prevalent in rural areas of Belize.

      It's true, I see people that complain how things are hard but somehow found money to go to the btb concert last week. It's bad but mainly in the places you specified. We live here so we know.

    Donate to belize if you like. But if you can help us get rid of this government that only remembers people when elections are around. Then just fill thier pockets and do a few projects in our small cities and show it on tv to feel good about them selves and make people feel they are doing something meanwhile they fill thier pockets, then we have people like you that want to help, big organizations that come to help us build our roads , build our schools, feed our hungry people, just to have the people in charge fight each other to take credit for things they would never do with the money they hold in their pockets. Help us get rise of them, John mcAfee tried to expose them and they started to look for him to shut him up.
