Somebody needs to make a spot the difference map and a texture pack where they make slightly different looking textures for common blocks and the player has to guess which is the real texture.

If, in the "challenge stages", that the map would always make your fourth and final guess the correct one, and have a unique difference ready for each item/block in case you choose that one last.
It would be so _aggravating_ to the player, but would be hilarious to the viewers...
That's the most evil think I could imagine... I LOVE IT.
If it were structured like this, it'd be a lot more believable. Start off with some that are real and possible to get correct on the first try and then slowly move into the impossible ones so the person feels like they're legitimately just getting it wrong every time lol

Not really, there’s so many possibilities, take the Stray, Creeper and Witch one, the Blaze is what I’d have said since it’s the only one that can be found in the nether/can’t be found in the over world.
Good one with the potato? The fish and pork are all meat based, the potato isn’t.
In that sense them not belonging is perfectly correct, there’s no indication of what you’re looking for as to WHY they don’t belong.
my problem with half of these is that you aren't guessing "which one doesn't belong" but rather which train of not belonging the creator is thinking. Especially in those hard stages most of those questions have multiple answers where multiple blocks have completely unique qualities. and there's no way of knowing which unique quality the creator is asking for.

Technically, both coal blocks and stained glass were both “introduced” in Minecraft 2.0 (the 2013 April Fools update), and then were implemented into actual releases of the game at different times.

Btw, stained glass was actually named tinted glass in 2.0, so I guess depending on how you look at it, the block with the name "stained glass" was added later.

Honestly I think in some of his old MC videos he has himself actually eaten spider eyes before and realized the poison effect, I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure he has before and that he's just forgotten, which is understandable with how long he's played the game.

Look, comparators can take in a redstone signal too! It's not just used to detect block states. In fact, it was named because it compares signals! This means that repeaters *_always_* give a full strength signal to comparators. 18:05

Okay, so, TERRACOTTA WAS MOST DEFINITELY NOT BEFORE HOPPERS.

It most certainly was. April 2013, Dinnerbone showed off hardened clay for the very first time. Just as with spiderweb being introduced to the game back in the survival test but not being officially introduced until a later iteration with the abandoned mineshafts, it was in the game long before it made its first official appearance.

I think the creator of this game should've put more thought in narrowing it down to one pick only. Plenty of times Jardon's reasoning showed there were multiple answers, but this is more of like "how well can you decypher the logic of the maker".

The petrified oak slab is the original alpha slab that stayed in MC for backwards compatibility. It only got it's name instead of the number value of stone slab in 1.13 as part of "The flattening". But it has been around for much longer.

I feel like hints are almost mandatory for the harder ones, because there are so many equally-obscure patterns that it's nigh-impossible to tell which one is dev-intended.

I downloaded and played through this game before watching the video, and gave up in disgust after completing Medium Mode. I am really not a fan of multiple choice questions that have more than one right answer and then consider other valid answers "wrong" just because the author of the test didn't think of that way to answer the question.
The one in which Captain Sparkles almost immediately chooses the stick because it's not used in potion brewing is a great example. It's a perfectly correct answer to the question, but was considered "wrong" because the author didn't happen to think of potion brewing when he constructed the question. Another great example was the food level. Captain Sparkles' choice of the potato was perfectly reasonable. All of the others were made of animal flesh. I got those two questions "correct" when I encountered them, but I can see how the "wrong" answers given in this video were actually valid as well.
In one case in my own gameplay, I chose the bed rather than the piston because the piston, the hay bale and the slime block completely fill up the grid while crafting, while the bed does not. It's a perfectly valid reason to exclude that item, yet it was considered "incorrect" due to the author not considering that possibility. He had a different difference in mind so therefore my difference, while also correct, received the buzzer.
In the case of level 3 easy, one could make a case for each and every one of the blocks to be the one that doesn't belong. The hay bale because it's the only one that's made of something you can eat (and it's the only one that requires a crafting table to craft), Glazed Terracotta because it's the only one that requires smelting to produce it, Yellow Terracotta because it's the only one you can just mine and pick up without crafting at all, and wool because it's the only block that _must_ be dyed to make it that color. Yes, the fact that the hay bale doesn't have the word "yellow" in the name of the block is _one_ answer, but not enough effort was made to make it the _only_ answer.
I could go on and on.
This map could have used a LOT more tweaking before release. It is not ready for prime-time. There should be only one possible correct answer to each question, and most questions have more than one. This puzzle should be subtitled "read the author's mind to advance to the next level."
... and the author admits this on the download site:
"There are far few stages that have more than one answer, and this map won't trick you into thinking it's not the obvious option."
First, it's more than "far few," it's quite a lot.
Second, this suggests to me that during play-testing his mates came up with other valid answers and rather than tweaking his map to eliminate the answers he didn't want the player to choose, he simply put a blurb in the download description that insults the player for not finding his choices as "obvious" as he did.
@@Kuoxsr It's impossible to eliminate all possible answers. I guarantee you that for any combination of 4 blocks there are at least 2 different possible answers.

A better reasoning for Stage 15 (timestamp 15:41) would be that the lantern is the only one that doesn't incorporate wood. (the lantern has a torch in it which has wood)
Also, the redstone lamp is the only one that isn't broken faster with an axe.

There are so many challenges here that don't account for the fact that you can also find other facts that make one choice not belong. Like the end rod being the only source of light for example. It could also have been the slab because it's the only half block. And so on.

At 18 minutes the comparison was like how the cauldron has 3 states of being full and the potion stand has 3 amounts of potions and the repeater can be set to 3 different ticks, the furnace just has 2 smelting and not smelting, it wasn't anything about comparators
I watched this and then tried the map myself and I played through with 0 errors and 0 hints.
I think the end crystal was a good answer for the last one because it is the only one that is found in the creative inventory.
