Another nice compilation!! Keep it coming!
One of the biggest upsets this year IMO was Magda Linette's victory against Jabeur in R1. Ons was one of the favourites to win RG...
But Magda hasn`t been so low in the ranking...
Yes Magda got skills on the court!!!
@@paweskibniewski9286 So what? Magda was 50 something at that time, and Ons was considered main competitor of Iga to win whole thing. And that was just first round.
@@vojtasjedyny But here`s clear for this video that they got so much lower ranked players, Magda was something like 40-50 at that time.
lol the handshake from Badosa
Similar one from Sakkari too
Sore loser!!!
Badosa was almost off the court before the umpire had finished announcing the final score!
I don’t think we’ll be calling Alycia Parks’ wins ‘upsets’ for much longer
We will if it’s not an indoor court, that’s the only time she plays decently.
no doubt
think the most important thing for her rn is consistency and leg work. she plays some tournaments brilliantly then others she gets bageled. she has all the weapons but like a lot of players, you need to use them consistently and know when to go for your shots. and leg work is important has her shots are so hard, hitting the ball early and getting low to the ground to do that is something she def needs improvement on. shes young and if she can do that she will be top 10 by end of next year, especially with the state of wta rankings. all it takes is 1 deep run at a slam or masters and your halfway there lol
She plays like serena
Iga will be dominating Parks
Honestly a little surprised that Cornet def. Muguruza (AO) or Cornet def. Swiatek (WC) wasnt there 😭😭
Serena losing the first round after not playing for year isn’t a shocking upset.
My point exactly
I saw that match and at the time I was pissed at Tan acting so cocky about her points, now when I watch it, I can hear Serena really struggling through this match. She got on her grind and continues to make wonderful things happen!!!
@@cjbfire95 she was really rusty n out of shape 😩 she even had chance to still serve for the match
None of these were shocking upsets.
Pls can you do a video of top 10 unexpected runs of 2022 such as Watson at Wimbledon or Trevisan RG
Trevisan will be the new Cecchinato 😭
@@hassy1951 maybe, but she did make the quarters at RG 2 years ago and won Rabat this year so I think it's more likely that she will have a successful career on clay
Iga is the best player on tour, so take that
I can't watch Trevisan, so loud. Can't watch the loud ones, Halep as well, Sabalenka, there's a few.
Harriet Dart beat Badosa AND Tomljanovic in the Billie Jean Cup which were quite big upsets too
i would say beating tomljanovic was more impressive for her than badosa this year as well. badosa wasnt that hard to beat this year but tomljanovic actually had a really decent season and people forget she defended her points at wimbledon from last year but they got stripped, she would be ranked around 20ish if it wasnt for that stupid ruling. and tomljanovic came to life at the BJC, she plays really well for australia and cant wait to see her and badosa square off in Jan and the united cup.
Iga is the best player on tour, so take that.
@@mateuszszczurek8043 shes vulnerable this season. shes lost to 2 fellow top 10 players i wouldnt be 100% betting on her this season apart from clay season
@@patriciabazzi6532 she will be dominating for the rest of her career
Iga will be destroying Dart for the rest of their career
not surprised pliskova’s ranked like 30 or something now lol
she really deserved atleast 1 slam from 2016-2021 with the way she played its sad that she never wanted to take her game to another level. angie kerber did it in 2016 and made a name for herself but pliskova will always be remembered as a woulda coulda shoulda. went missing at the aus open and french open for most of her career, but has won rome twice and had decent runs in wimbledon and us open.
Hon defeating Kvitová was insane because that was a match Petra was playing her best throughout
Hon reacted the same throughout these clips, never getting overly excited or aggressive about her wins!!! She was totally confident to me!
Her best? It was a great win, but Petra was a country-mile from her best in that match.
When will we see the Top 10 most shocking upsets of 2021? I guess half of them would include upset wins from Fernandez and Raducanu at USO.
harmony Tan- nowhere to be seen after this match
Parks vs Pliskova too
Poor Barbora. Tried to play that RG match with Covid
I thought she had long COVID effects?
@@samisankey3104 TESTED positive the day after
@@deusexmachina9776 ahhh ok
@@samisankey3104 no problem (Samantha)
This video is awesome and I’ll watch it several times. Really out of these women beating top players, I haven’t seen them before this video, besides Parks and Parry! Whoever Snigur is she looks like she’s playing with something other than a tennis racquet. The way she beat Simona she should be # 1 in the world!
No one saw the Halep upset coming after her win in Toronto
i did and even put a bet on it. the bet was only placed as i thought she was very weak in opening rounds at slams when shes in form, idk if its because of her prep or she was tired but i think thay kanepi loss a few years back has scarred her in new york lol, and that one against sharapova as well, she was stunned in both of those 🤣
Let’s not forget the Townsend upset at the 2019 USO. Townsend came to the net 100+ times and Halep forgot how to lob
your missing Saville vs Jabuer at indian wells and Saville vs Pegula at Washington. Both ranked 2 at the time.
Jabeur was ranked 10 in IW and Pegula was never ranked 2... her best ranking is 3
Jabeur was ranked 10 and Saville was coming on like a storm in those few weeks while Jabeur was out of form. She's a former top 20 so not an upset.
my bad then, but still, they were better upsets than some of the others on this list. beating pliskova isnt that difficult this year. saville is former top 20, yes. but it was like her second or third tournament after a 2 year injury with her achilles where she couldnt walk for a year. to me thats an incredible comeback
Pliskova and Sakkari chile
They couldn't catch a break this season lol. Sakkari managed to do well in like... three or four tournaments and she's top 5 wtf.
at least maria did well at the end of the year
Sakkari... girl I love you but you are such a flop.... we can never count on you to not lose.
krejikova not an upset. her first match in months after injury
Simona and Serena 💔💔💔💔
Wouldn’t call the Serena one an upset she hasn’t played in almost a year. It was the logical expected out come but I guess being goat you have higher expectations that everyone else
You're missing linette vs Jabeur in RG and Sabalenka vs Peterson in the Aussie swing
agree. Linette is a good player but Jabeur coming on to the match with a win in Madrid and Final in Rome.
Not Pliskova and Sakkari appearing on this list twice each 💀
😂😂😂😂😂 I shouldn’t laugh, if only you didn’t put the dead skull head on it!!!
No such thing as an upset in women’s tennis anymore.
Wang is good
Lol none of these is an upset really, except halep's loss
The US Open has historically been Halep's weakest tournament. She's had the most first-round losses in it. It doesn't make the loss an upset. It's surprising how the tournament is hard for some top-level players, even Barty never seemed to crack it past Round 4.
@@meghnadeshmukh4480 barty only played there like 4 times though, thought she played well when she made the 4th round and lost to pliskova. she shouldve versed serena in 2019 though in the QF, played maybe the worst match of her career as a top 10 players against wang
Alycia deep come ons give me goose bumps, I am really feeling it. She is doing what she wants to do!!!
Pliskova loosing is not an upset xd
Tan's win wasn't really an upset. Serena has not played a singles match in more than a year..
rebecca peterson vs sabalenka
Was Inglis vs Flopnandez really an upset? 😒
haddad maia vs swiatek?
biggest upset in 2022
i have never seen a player with worse tehnique than snigur omg that forehand is disgusting
I love it because it’s so odd
yeah, i play tennis do im a big believer in doing what works for you, but no doubt the forehand needs to be changed, it limits her when that ball is really low or when it comes fast at her. her preperation is SOOOOOO long and wont work against most players
@@patriciabazzi6532 i play tennis too, so i understand what you are saying, but that forehand is utterly atrocious
@@confession25 yeah agree, there is some upside to it where she can hit the ball really flat but im just thinking theres no topspin for angles or lobs or a good defensive shot, really limits her play and probably lucky halep wasnt playing very well that day
Rybakina in wimbledon 😕
How is cornet - Swiatek not on here 🤣
Because Swiatek is bad on grass, it was just about time that she will lose.
Boulter fine
Missing linette vq jabeur RG
How inglis defeat leylah
Leylah tried to be too aggressive/ do too much in that match. It’s not her game
@@jameshampton5659 inglis also had a great tournament though infront of her home crowd. dont think she will defend the points as she had a pretty easy draw but who knows
Burrage is quite hot
Serena beating Anett Kontaveit?
Serena was not an upset like hall
Don't consider any of these upsets plus the biased hometown crowds defo rattled the psyche and mentality of the losing players...
Deserve pliskova, on 1 not Simona ..
2023: ua-cam.com/video/qMa7c-xWKvA/v-deo.html
Alycia parks❤
What is the WTA Tour:
Now you see them, now you don't.
I guess Halep's drugs were not working that day...
Except for Wang and Parks, the others have all but disappeared.
