Cause EA completely fumbled BFV. Should of been f2p. Like warzone, but earlier. Would of probably bought wz to the market quicker. Shame.
This Battleroyale was perfect and very balanced, only cheaters broke this game and EA with no support 😢
I loved the simplicity and the classic take. There's still nothing as awesome as the firestorm circle and the destruction. "IF" they do revisit BR in the next Battlefield I hope they carry over what they had here.
Cause all you streamers went to Warzone cause you all go gaga for anything COD makes, even if it's just a cash grab and the games still suck
My issue with it was horrendous ux and too slow and bulky. I would take mw2 system over this game’s inventory system personally but it was an interesting attempt and enjoyed watching it again briefly for nastolgia hah.
Criterion was done so dirty with how Firestorm was handled. Just a colossal missed opportunity.

I loved my time on Firestorm. Got my first ever battle royale win on Firestorm. I stink at BR games but I love Battlefield. So I think that made me that much more interested so I played better. I was so sad when they just dropped it.
Fuck EA for that, and for many other modes/games they canned just because they can.

Firestorm was a great map and Dice ditching Battlefield 5 to launch 2042 way to early was a big mistake.
They definitely rushed 2042 out the door!

Firestorm was the best battle royale made, graphically, destruction, tanks, the firestorm itself, immaculate. Its a shame that nobody appreciated it when it came out
People appreciated it, the problem was it was a battleroyale that was not free, and it was hidden behind a 70 dollar pay wall
I’m a battlefield fan and I never heard of this! This is why it failed I don’t know why I never heard of this until now I’ve okay ed so much PubG Fortnite warzone. Oh this would have been so much fun!
@kojimayuhay I'm sure I got it free with mine when I bought it? I can't remember ever having to pay separately for it? Might be wrong though

Its funny how WZ looks like it borrowed some aspects from firestorm, like the whole armor plate system and loot rarity...
It did! Firestorm was the first BR to implement proper physical armour plates rather than “shield” like Apex and Fortnite 👍

JackFrags has also done a video on this, in recent months or so, no one will bring the mode back to life on their own, its more of a team effort between them all.

Firestorm is CRIMINALLY underrated. What this world truly and really needs is a good WW2 BR game.
If there's ever a bad decision to be made, EA is there.

Ok definitely playing this soon, I was reminiscing on this lately whilst playing 2042. Good to see this.
Does look like a fun mode, even with such a low playercount in the matches it seemed to work and gave for a good watch. Can only imagine how hectic a full lobby of 64 would be. Destruction mechanics are cool too, just how the storm ripped through that building was awesome. Makes the gas in Warzone extremely tame in comparison

Yeah they killed it before it even had a chance being behind that paywall.
Miss the good old fps games, everything now looks like COD clones with sliding and bunnyhopping around every corner.
This was such a grate BR (with its bugs but...) it could've been a great one. I played it so much! you've got everything, BF mechanics, authentic BR, the feeling, the beauty oh! man I miss it so much. Let's not forgot the V1 sound :)

I just played it for the first time since launch LOL there was a whopping 4 PEOPLE including myself on that fateful plane. I got one of the three kills and ended up coming second, the guy had 5 HP.. was somehow like reminiscing to the PUBG days. Alot of sitting around and waiting for the damn storm to move. But, this was HARDCORE mode being only 4 people on the massive map. I felt like I was being looked at the whole time like when I play EFT LOL
With some little tweaks this game mode could've been great... But just like all of BF5 it was mishandled big time! I think I'm going to look for a round the next days...

They literally could make this free to play and add support from the devs and the community would be happy, maybe some little adjustments like a way to res your team etc
This mode would've succeeded if it was free to play. I really hope they keep the firestorm mechanic for the new battlefield BR, it looked awesome!
Feel like they released firestorm and it was super buggy for a while but the biggest killer in firestorm was the general lack of mics used by bf players that has persisted through the series.
Ive been trying to get into firestorm lobbies (pc) since i picked the game back up. I would love to see a come back.
This is weird, but I sometimes listen to the firestorm reveal trailer when I’m on the stair climber at the gym. It’s a dope trailer😂

LOVED this game mode. So sad it didnt get the love it needed from the devs. BF needs to get it right next time round.
Why don't they make firestorm free to play now. They could still make something from it a number of years down the line

EA should have made it a free to play standalone game after bfv stopped being supported. Genuinely loved this mode

You probably know this already, but did you know you can lean without being behind cover or having to press the ] or [ keys? I believe if you press F while aiming down sights, you can use Q and E to lean left and right. I could be misremembering, but regardless Firestorm all the way!!
Simply BEST looking game and best looking battle royale game ever made. One of the reasons why there's a small amount of players , is because it costs money and 8-10 y.o PUBG and Fortnite players don't have it
I actually kinda enjoyed firestorm whenever it came out. I wasn’t really a big battle royale person so it was an “introduction” for me

If firestorm had a way of coming back from a death like warzone i think it would have done a lot better
Yeah it needed a regain/respawn mechanic. Even a little flag capture or something to respawn teammates would have been cool.

Definitely the best BR map I have played. Massive landscapes, great audio, destruction, etc. if Criterion was given the time they would have fixed a lot of the clucky issues and the sky was the limit

My first battle royal win was on firestorm super fun game mode, sucks it didn’t get traction and support.
If this had support from EA, it could have been more popular than PUBG. 3 maps, new weapons, new vehicles, etc.

I thought this game was great. It was actually the first BR that I got my first W ever in during its “hey day”. Had they made it free to play for everyone it would have really stood a chance.

I got 2nd once in firestorm 😂 man that feels so long ago. I hate Warzone and Fortnite but this battle royale was awesome. I liked how it was more grounded and realistic instead of pink guns with 120 drum mags and all the goofy crap they do in Warzone.

I don't like BR, but Firestorm was kinda fun even though I only got to play it 2 or 3 times. Even from when it released it was DOA in Australia... Plus it got overshadowed by Blackout at the time on Bo4, which that itself was fun, and still the better Cod BR than Warzone... Honestly if you wanna play more BRs give Blackout a shot.. If there are players on PC Firestorm there surely would be a lobby on PC Black Ops 4 Blackout.
Problem is it was locked behind the games box price. Most BF players didn't want a battle royale since at the time battle royales were already at it's peak and saturated with several other games. They should have made fire storm f2p like the way cod does with warzone.

There is literally no reason that they can’t implement this into 2042 as a game mode OR simply push attention towards this game and say this is F2P and run it was a tourney system with cumulative points. So even if you suck at the game, you can brute force your way further by simply surviving.
My first battle royal, i felt in love with this map, this game got too much hate , imagine how this battle royal could be good and BF mutlillayer with eastern front , d day, italy etc. 😢
I wonder if they added crossplay if it could bring it back a bit. I really liked firestorm. I know they won’t update it to add crossplay, but I can dream.

They should announce firestorm and put it separately with out the bf5 game on the store and make it free right now and see what happens

Firestorm in 2024 on PC is still alive. There is a loyal community of players. Willowpac, for example, is an institution! :) Come over!
They should just set this mode to free, i mean im sick of warzone, warzone maybe better no question but i just want to play something new. We all know if this will be free people will hop on to this.

Feels so bad for the devs to take so much time in creating this game mode just for it to flop. The map is beautiful and a shame we can't find full lobbies. This should have been a free to play game mode like Call of Duty Warzone, in the hopes that it also boost BFV sales
