Glad to see you're bringing the old girl back to life my dad had a 2470 that we ran for decades it was our big horse and it always did what it was asked to do and more what a good old Workhorse
Fantastic ! New oil pump ? take the oil pan off and clean out the gunk . Check for bearing wear. change ALL filters . This will be a great tractor IF you do the work right. Thanks
I grew up with a 2470 and a 2090. I loved that 2470, it had all the power we ever needed, we pulled a 9 board roll over plow with it and had no problems.
Always enjoy watching younger people retrieving and restoring older farm equipment. It shows a devotion to history and that many pieces are still good for working many more years.
This is my first video I’ve seen from y’all, and just gotta say I like what I see. Came up in suggested videos, I follow a number of farmers. Hit the subscribe button, looking forward to watching more from y’all! I’m originally from southeastern pa, now live in Sarasota FL, and work for Kubota.
I spent lots of hours in a 2670. Good to see a traction king getting a resurrection! The rear tracking was always an issue. Should have been a better lockout for roading them. 3 point and 2 remotes should pull tillage well. PTOs were pretty rare. Our 2670 ended up being our first choice for grain wagons once the rear steering was dialed in.
Awesome job man, i used to love doing stuff like this with my dad. Few years back we bought a 1962 claas combine that had been put in a barn and left to rot for the last 30 odd years. We changed the oil, got fresh fuel up to the pump and she ran like a top drove 6 miles or so to our yard where we broke her up for parts.
2470 is a torque monster. 510 cubits and burns 5 gallon per hour. Best machine to pull a Miller offset disc chopping corn stalks. We also pulled a 14' chisel on bean ground. This wasin '79 or '80 when I was 16 or 17 years old. Had a blast running that beast. On a grade watch the rpms and drop the powershift a cog when it drops rpm until you crest the grade and then up a cog in sequence don't jump . AL B in Ohio.
You seem to be a CASE magnet ,they are some of the best reliable brand no matter what ..and no NASA mechanics on speed dial required!!! I love the butt ugly style and no PLASTIC ..
My dad's first tractor he drove was a 2470. Man named Leonard Sitzer owned it and another. Been trying to find it all year. Would love to reunite him with it.
Great video, last year I drove a gleaner K 11 miles home with no brakes and had fuel issues. We have a Case 1175 and a 1570. I would like a 2470, great find.
Where we are 1175s are like cockroachs. You can't seem to kill them and they are just about infinitely rebuildable. We have 2 and there are 12 more within an hours drive from us still working.
@@farmingwithjunk1848 ya, I know were a 970 case sits and a 2670 all within 5 miles from me. I could by them cheep I bet. Guys really liked them by us because they had plenty of power to pull potato diggers.
Be interesting to see what you find wrong with the old girl. Transmission and Driveline made it home. Looks like the engine might need a freshen up. Thanks for the videos. We never had pretty equipment when we were farming, but it was pretty good mechanically.
Awesome old machine I hope you can get it back up to doing field work. You never did say what the fluid was puking out at the startup or how you resolved it.
I also farm with junk, 2470, David Brown 880, Farmall 806, and IH 1566. I'm very interested in your videos. I would like to see part one and two of the 2470 videos, so far I have only seen part 3. Also did you find the source of the oil leaking from the bell housing?
If anyone says those 504 case engines are junk and don’t start well then they have been very rough on the tractor. I have a 4494 that wasn’t started in 3 months and it started after not even 1/4 rotation on the engine. John deere guys are always wrong on case engines
We have a few cases currently, I’m having a bunch of issues with the hydraulic system on our 1175 we just picked up and need some in site if you have any way we could talk about it for some pointer thanks
Fin all someone not to use a little ether to help start a hard to start diesel engine. You have something a farmer can repair without a computer 11:3011:3411:35
@@farmingwithjunk1848 You must be near Green Castle, I figured you nearer to Franklin or Saegertown. I like seeing older equipment brought back from the brink, look forward to seeing more videos.

Luv the old 70 series grew up on 1370s and 2590 2390s. All strong as hell
Video like this I love to watch people save old tractors from their grave...

Hi these are the types of videos you should be making. Create a story people like them. Well done.
It drove 11 miles home. It deserves to be rebuilt and put back to work.
2470 great tractor for its time. I'd love to have one

Well done great recovery and drive home well done!
I drove them in my youth thousands of acres of crop went in .
Farmed several years with a 2470. Good tractor..

I thought I owned the only 1175 left I use it as my primary tractor.

Spent a lot of hours most of my teenage summers running one of these old turds
Sounds pretty good
It doesn’t have to be new , it just has to get the job done:
I'm glad its saved it's such a cool tractor.
Throw a couple of gals of ATF into the fuel. It will lube and clean out the fuel system. It burns just fine
No, ATF will not burn
Good tractors to keep and look for more
The new tractors with the computer controls are junk

@@df1h2k starter bolt was missing. We got a spare bolt we found in the truck to fill the hole.
Love it
I always thought these were interesting tractors.
Case powershift treated like a manual transmission will last forever
Ladiy bugs love anything white.when fall starts coming on thats were they head to.
I say fix it up and put it back in the field.

Knee deep in rubber ain't it

We have 2 1175s. Check what you have for pressure at the remotes would be a starting point.
Thank you
