- Basic tutorial on the way that I set/brush my hair!
If this makes absolutely no sense to you, I highly suggest watching Lisa Freemont Street's videos on pin-curling.
Also I haven't spoken to a camera in many moons, so don't judge me too harshly (also my greasy hair and chipped nail polish, whoops).

not much longer that Rachel had in this video, so I need motivation for patience, if Rachel got from what we see in this video to beautiful hair she has now then I can do it too, I just need to deal with the fact it is going to take years.

Yesterday I wore my first vintage inspired outfit, and did an updo. I got so many compliments 😱 I can't believe I was scared of what others would think... Thanks for all your help. I still feel like I need modern makeup though 😂😭

I've been wanting to try pin curls for so long but for the past few years I've had very long hair and was worried it would end up far too complicated and stressful and I'd mess it up royally. This is actually a relaxed enough tutorial I feel confident enough to try! Thank you!

I started watching this channel a couple years ago and was curious about her very first video! It's always fun to see how UA-camrs evolve, especially channels like this - humble beginnings to famous! I love that even from her first video she has the "word stumble jump cuts" :D

Thanks for this. I'll have to give it a try. The last time I tried to do pin curls, I ended up looking like Medusa with evil little snakes all over my head, so here's to try #2 going better.
Hahaha aww, the brush-out definitely helps spread out the strands of hair so they don't stick together likes snakes, trust me, it's happened to me too! 😂❤️
Yup, I think it was a case of too tight curls + too much product + not enough brush out. I'll tag you in my result pics when/if I figure it out. ;)

Random but speaking of Azkaban in my last comment do you wanna hear a joke ? a friend of mine is a comedian he covered in tats and he gets people coming up to him asking thingsvor old ladies thinking he’s stealing in stores lol so he has a bit about this guy coming up to him who has a ton of tats too and he says “ so where did you do your time brother?” And he goes Azkaban lol. And no recognition whatsoever and the end of the joke is how many years did he do in jail yet he had no time to read well I’m butchering it it wasn’t that insensitive to people who have been locked up me included but that’s the basic joke ok end of rant I’m off to butcher another joke I’m needed elsewhere to ruin some comedy lol

I've slept with a lot of stuff/curlers/foam curlers in my time, but those clips look PAINFUL. Don't know if I could do it. Respect. ;)
Hahahaha they kinda are! Thankfully they lay pretty flat against your head so it's not unbearable!
Yeah my heads too tender for this but I love my pillow rollers ❤️ they save your hair from heat damage and save you time what’s not to love? !!!
Before I dropped out of beauty school doing pin curls & finger waves were so much fun to do.
I so needed this tutorial! I have to learn how to take a better care of my hair because I cannot just let them the way they are and this is perfect! Just my hands and some clips (which I have). I can buy a motions foam setting lotion and start trying my hand at it :) thanks so much rachael!

Love this tutorial! I tried Pin Curls this past weekend... no instruction or anything just wingin' it! I started with clips for a few hours then switched to bobby pins (since I did all flat curls) right before bed. I was pleasantly surprised by how they turned out. I did need to fix a few with a curling iron, though. ugh
It's friday afternoon, I'm already on weekend and I've decided to watch all of your videos since the very beginning of your channel. ^^ I think I've suscribed to your channel in 2017 or maybe early 2018 but never taken the time to watch everything even if you couldn"t post videos very often at that time. Anyway !!! I love collectif clothing dresses but I never do my hair or put makeup on except some lipstick. I definitely have to learn to curl my hair !

You are missing the point of a hair set. The point is that the hairstyle evolves and changes as the week goes buy. The first style day is that you wear it tightly curled. Then as the week goes on the curls loosen up on their own. No hair brushing. Just finger brushing. Try it. ( the point is that the curls will last longer ).
