The Maldives has reportedly bought Turkish surveillance drones to patrol its exclusive economic zone. This, as diplomatic tensions with India continue to simmer. Maldivian President Mohamed Muizzu had earlier called for strengthening the Maldives' ability to patrol its own waters. The $37 million worth defence deal was signed in 2023 when Muizzu visited Turkiye. Is this just another addition to his "India-out" campaign? Palki Sharma tells you more.

Totally agree, I'm taken aback by the Indian arrogance. Maldives is a sovereign nation state and it can do business with whoever it wants to. Indian authorities should ask themselves how come the Maldives doesn't want to cooperate with them anymore.

Maldives can do whatever they please. It's a sign for India to be cautious and careful. Make strategic amends to the policies towards Maldives and look for alternatives to safeguard it's waters and strategic routes. Ultimate goal for China seems to be building a base in Maldives and extend control on waters, perhaps surround their presence around India.

landed Farmers struggles are not greater than landless labour struggles. Govt should stop stuffing money into farmers pockets unless it will do the same for landless labour. Pubjabi farmers are deploying their parents to protest, and then they go back to their fields. Govt should not buy any grain that it does not need.

It's ok the court said bond is unconstitutional, hence it should not be used again. But the issue I'm facing understanding is, why court need to put the donor names on ECI website, if court has to find out the names for some specific reason they can seek the information and keep the names hidden, and proceed with whatever they want to take out from this case. Now many will say why hiding names of donor is so important, what's wrong in sharing their names and donations, then my simple argument is, everyone knows most of the donations came from big houses like ambani adani jindal Tata and almost all nifty top 50, but once u disclosed the name who donated how much to whom, it will create revenge treatment after the results, let's assume if congress win (not possible) and they knew 5-6 houses paid huge donations to BJP or vice versa, those people will be marked, do u think they will let it go just like "oh no issue u doing what u feel right" I mean no one so lame to even think that way politicians let go things so easily. They'll be left away from govt contracts and face unnecessary inquiries, special audits and what not to harass them and simply show them who is the new boss or continued boss. Just for once think corporate donors as individual voters, and answer, is it right who voted for whom should be disclosed, because if that happen there will be feud in families too and if we don't go to local political, parties the best it is, as they will decide development based on which area, people, particular booth voters, voted for who and easily targeted, they'll be targeted by goon party workers and what not. So how right it is to put donor's name in public, at least court should ask individual you want to be disclosed or not, as in our culture donation is personal preference and any individual or entity can decide their anonymity. For me, it's not right by given argument.
