I love the Avaritia lead! The funny thing is that Deadmau5 probably used a bunch of expensive modular hardware while you just used a softsynth. To be fair the sound is not that complicated.
+Charles McIntosh Its not a bad guess to say that he might have used Serum, given that he's best friends with Steve Duda for sure. Either way, hopefully this gives a good idea as to how you could achieve a similar result.
Deadmau5 regularly uses VSTs. He does prefer analogue gear, but I think he has even said that digital has come so far it hardly even matters anymore. Especially in a mix. It really doesn't matter if you can tell the difference with isolated channels.
This is fantastic; I've just discovered your channel; I love how you teach and explain how and why things actually work; brilliant, thank you so much:D
So first off thank you VERY much!! I've been wanting to make this lead forever LoL. But I have a question, the notes you played the lead on are in the key of C Major, so is the song in the key of C Major? Or did you just use the relative major and the song is in A Minor??? I'm really confused because everywhere on the internet says "Avaritia" is in the key of D Major, but that can't be! And some places say E Major but that makes even less sense lol. So please help, is the song in C Major or what???
i see the notes and they are from a C maj scale that is equal to the A minor (or maybe not?). perhaps you checked out the wrong "avaritia" which is similar to the "terrors in my head" piano part, but it is only an hypothesis
Riccardo Dell'Orto You are right, C Major and A Minor use the exact same notes. A minors relative major is C Major, meaning they use the exact same notes. So now that I've clarified that, I feel there is a possibility that I was given the results for an older version of "Avaritia" or a different song like you said "Terrors In My Head". But I'm not looking up any of the piano notes on a video, what I did was go to a certain site like "Beatport" that tells me the key, bpm, and signature of a song, and "Beatport" gave me this "Avaritia". I don't trust Beatport for reliable song key info but it usually gives me correct info. But anyways, I'm assuming its A Minor

***** On my Beatport Deadmau5 has the most releases but I only like 5% of them.

@@Beaubacon My bad, maybe he didn't make it, but I'm pretty sure he and Duda co-founded Xfer Records.

Riccardo Dell'Orto Thank you for your reply bro :)
Could you do Escape by Kx5
When are you gonna get into some fm synthesis like fm8?
Am I the only one who just opened serum and turned mono and porta on and then put it at about 43 ms?
i love you :D
can you make a tutorial of serum where you explain what the buttons do and something about the most useful waves? only if you want, of course.
lol read the manual bro and just use the plug in
I've never heard "read the manual" more than when i started getting into music production...
LittleBill902 Yeah bro, it's only because it really does get complicated.
Deadmau5 uses a lot of presets as well lol
hello
do you know SPIRE from REVEAL SOUND.............????????????????????....I'M SURE THAT NO
