Nataberchi Nataberchi There are various characters and complex relationships involved. You need to concentrate when reading "The Magic Mountain", and even when you finish it, you might need to read it again to fully comprehend the chain of events. Remember, Hans Castorp was originally going to visit the Sanitorium for only 3 weeks, but ended up staying for 7 years!
The final scene where Hans leaves the train carriage to observe the mountain, can be compared to Dave Bowman leaving the comfort of the space pod to go outside and observe the monolith floating in space !
@@charlesedwardandrewlincoln8181 I just worked out where I've heard that music before Charlie.....it's from Wagner's ''Tristan & Isolde''. You can hear more here - ua-cam.com/video/U2wek8K_tQU/v-deo.html
What version is this? I have bean searching the net and i have found just one version shot in 1982. But this images are far more better that the version i have seen.
+Amos Zaharia Hi Amos. I got this from a VHS video which I purchased just over 1 year ago from a private seller in the US. (I don't think there would be many copies left because it was never put on DVD).
Would you mind uploading your 1982 version onto youtube, if it is possible, please ? I think I know the version Amos Muji Zaharia mentioned and have the same opinion with him. Thank you in advance.
'The Magic Mountain' was deemed one of the best novels of the 20th Century.
***** Not your 'average' novel.

It is besides the Master and Margarita to me
What a beautiful documentary to return to.

From the film "2001: A Space Odyssey".
Such an interesting analogy!
@@paulinaberenikazielinska7818 I agree!
"An unassuming young man"........hmmmm...sounds like me.
In your dreams Max.
I love this so much.
So no one has any idea where to get this?? I've just finished the book and want to see the movie to buff up my presentation
It's not a movie, it's a documentary only available on a VHS tape.
Trekkerlanio oh well then. Thanks anyways
The music
Yes, it's nice music, composed by Richard Wagner.
@@JohnAlexanderBerry Yes I think that makes sense. It seems part of the story might’ve been slightly inspired by Tannhauser and the Venus mountain.
