Little River Canyon and Desoto State Park are awesome. I live very close to cheaha mtn....they're doing prescribed burns thru March first. It's been a smoky week here.. Love the video....Cheers!
Al. has the hills and forest in the north and beaches and gulf coast culture in the south. Checkout Huntsville too. It is supposed to be one of the best places to live in the US. Thanks for watching and commenting!!! Oh and if you get to do Mardi Gras in Mobile...it will blow u away it is so fun.
Hey Jason we leave for South Dakota Sunday! Pray for our safety and no cougar attacks! haha. Should have some videos next week. Thanks for being part of our little channel.
@@weekendnomads7160 haha. We are in fort meyers now! I flew over your house! Me n wife are goin to keys or destin in november. You guys will like black hills. Been there many times. Theres a nice 5 mile hike at sylvan lake. It takes you to harney peak. The highest point in sd. It would be a great vid! Bring lots of water!! Cant wait for vids of what ever u do!!
@@weekendnomads7160 I didn't realize that y'all weren't from AL, so you're right, the sausage is more regional and probably not available. It's really good. New subscriber and looking forward to more videos. Safe travels
@@nomo9344no worries... we r from PC Fl otherwise known as lower Alabama haha. Dont give up on us between vlogs. We vlog when we can. Both working grand parents. Thanks again for the comments and sub!
@@weekendnomads7160 Yeah man, you're right. PC and LA are one in the same! I appreciate anyone who travels like y'all and takes the time to share with the world, especially while you still work and have grand kids. Looking forward to watching some of your other videos. By the way, I'm from Central AL...and spent much time at PC "back in the day." Safe travels.
Thank you, that's very flattering. Are you sure we met in St Augustin? We are having fun with this and really appreciate the kind words. Freddie and Julie.
@@weekendnomads7160 Yesssss!!!!! That's when we meet. I asked my mom she said it was at Tony's! You guys have gone on so many hikes, it looks beautiful where you've been.

Check out a channel called Fire to Fork. He has a bunch of info on all type of cooking. Just from watching his videos, it looks like you didn’t have enough coals on the top. I think the ratio is 70% heat on top and 30 from underneath. That should help with the burned bottoms. Enjoyed the video!
hey, you are right, the top on this lodge is rounded so it was a little hard to keep coals on it and we had the oven to close to the flame... live and learn. it was still fun! thanks for watching and commenting.
Not sure about number but it was in the lower campground towards the back with a Lakeview. Wish we could remember for you. Sorry. It was also near the camp host trailer. Hang on we are pulling up the map
Great footage my friend! Enjoyed the video
Thank you Metro!

We do too! Thanks so much for watching. We hope to be vlogging again real soon.

Another fun video. I need to take my grandkids back to Cheaha.🤗

Nice, the wife and I are planning on spending a month in Alabama this year. Such a beautiful state but we havent ever stayed for any length of time.

That hike is already on the list!
Enjoyed the video. Just a few suggestions: Clyde May's instead of Jim Beam, and Conecuh instead of Jimmy Dean. Now your all set.
Thank you for watching and will definitely try the whiskey! Sausage. Is harder since it seems more localized but if we see it I will grab some!

What campsite number is this ? Very pretty!
Hey to the best of our memory it was 8 in the lower campground overlooking the lake. Have fun! Thanks for watching and commenting too!!!
That park is really Beautiful and way to go Julie on the bread making it looked awesome!
Thanks! Making the bread "old school" was fun to do. If you have any ideas for cast iron recipes for a campfire let me know.
You should have cut the stump. That’s the best fat lighter. That’s were the most flammable part is.
I was just trying not to hit my leg haha but I will remember that. Thanks for watching!!!

It was either 8 , 9 or 10. Seems like it was 8.

No full electric and running water with very clean showers and bathrooms.
