The o-rings are seemingly not rigid enough to stand up to the acceleration and spin, but are conceptually sound. If the forward seat area was not grooved, but were instead a step with the larger portion toward the tip, a broader band of soft metal could be heated, then shrunk to the body. The rearward seal would likely be unnecessary.

That gel shot was AMAZING!!!!! You can really see the petal tracks during the high-speed footage and the gel-block immortalized the hit beautifully. That's a fine work of art right there. Could be a very nice gift!

Hey Jeff, would you guys be interested in firing some homemade tungsten carbide core .30 caliber bullets? I'm able to reliably penetrate 3/8" AR500 plates with them in my .30-06, and I'd love to see how they look in the high speed camera.
They are in CA, unlikely they would beable to do so even if they wanted to. They could speak for themselves on the matter but will prob not as it would be off brand AND legally problematic where they are.
That's probably the coolest ballistic gel test I've seen. The uniformity of the petals and post penetration damage they would cause is a testament to the engineering that went into them.

Check out the footage at 3:44-3:46. It's close up of the water soaked jeans. Look at the impact on the ground about 100 yards behind the target from shrapnel. It's 12 o'clock from the target, about 1' above it when it's laying on it's side.
@Josh Frank It happens at EXACTLY 3:45/3:46. If you watch the jeans spin and roll on their side, look 1' above the left edge of the jeans. There's a brown dirt berm, then a nice green field, then a row of trees behind the green field. It hits just above the dirt berm on the green field. You can see a big puff of dirt where it strikes the ground. And a few seconds later you can see that the projectile penetrated all the way through the jeans, and that's were it ended up going.

Definitely one of the BEST slugs I've seen on here so far. The combination of energy distribution and penetration is just flat out amazing. You all should think about selling those ballistic gel blocks. A piece of art for gun owners.... Just a thought.... :) They could also be incorporated into a piece of art to create a small scale sculpture/installation. Could even auction off the final piece as a fundraiser for the channel, or to a charity.

I think they've shot M2AP before though. Live in a different state but it allows AP for testing purposes only, maybe California has a similar law?

That looked so good! A lot of the slugs you've fired I've wanted to see in clear ballistic gel but have only really been interested in your channel to hope and eventually see that. I cant wait to see what older slugs and newer slings you use in it!
