  • Reviving a Forgotten E34: Extreme Cleanup Transformation!
    Embark on a journey with me as we tackle one of my most challenging cleanups - bringing a disgustingly dirty BMW E34 525 td back from abandonment. This car has seen better days, but we're determined to restore its former glory. From mold-infested corners to a plethora of dirt and debris, we've left no corner untouched. Our mission takes us deep, cleaning seats, carpets, the center console, windows, and more, uncovering years of neglect and transforming the car into a piece of automotive beauty. Watch as we meticulously clean each part of this classic, employing specialized cleaning agents and a lot of elbow grease to ensure a thorough clean. The result is nothing short of miraculous: a car that doesn’t just look clean but feels like a piece of revitalized automotive history. Witness the transformation that dedication and a little bit of hard work can achieve. Make sure to like, share, and subscribe for more incredible automotive restorations. Your support inspires me to tackle more ambitious projects and share them with you.

    Hey, are you super sure that the glow plug system is working well? Intermittence there feels like it would make more sense than something fuel related. Could be completely wrong though! I love the video as always 😊

      already checked that since it also starts hard when cold but i noticed no difference between -10 degress C and 4 degrees C and I think that would make quite a drastic difference to the starting behavior. And all 6 GPs are new and i checked the fuse. And when i let it glow i can hear the relay :) Today ill hook it up to an ads interface and diagnose further with live values from the ecu:) Thanks for the support, glad you enjoyed :)

    Really hoping you can get the engine sorted. In my experience, the more "experts" you reach out to, the greater chance of erroneous information unfortunately. All my BMW's are, and have been, petrol engines, so I can't give any advice I'm afraid. My car is a 1989 535i SE Auto, and has only done 112K from new. Fortunately, the interior still looks as new because the car was 6 years old when I bought it, and I was able to get new original seat covers for the driver's seat. I am interested to find out how you get on with the diagnostics. Although I am old now (71), I used to have a fairly technical job so am not afraid of technology as such, but have to admit that I am confused by all the IMPA ISTA stuff. I bought the Foxwell BMW scan tool a while ago for my E46, and it is really comprehensive. I have the E34 and the E31, and according to Foxwell, I should be able to get information from them with the round connector adaptor cable which I am going to buy soon. We'll see, the cables are not that expensive so worth a try. Incidentally, some of the cars I've had (not BMW's) have been worse than yours to clean, so don't worry!

      I will get the engine sorted! Its a matter of when and not if :). I'm in the process of rebuilding the injection pump. Video is coming today hopefully. If that doesn't make a difference I have a tiny ads interface and an old computer ready to read out the ecu. Ive heard about the foxwell scanner, but I prefer having full functionality, so inpa or ista is the way to go :)

    Honestly, as much as my interior is falling apart, might seem cleaner (probably only because it's darker to begin with...)

      @nicename7247 dark interior cover almost all of stains so you dont really notice the disgust but I like bright interior colors so that's a major drawback :(

    How are the fuel lines / hoses? The one from fuel filter especially. I'm thinking air is getting in, possible the plastic has hardened. About 5 years ago I replaced mine and I don't think it was too expensive then...

      @dailydrivenclassics46  4 місяці тому +2

      @stevenchinery8119
      I replaced all fuel return lines in of the first Episodes. I changed the fuel filter of camera and in the clear line from the fuel filter to the Injection pump, I cant see any air bubbles. I also changed the sealing rings from the diesel filter and the end cap on injector Nr 6. So technically there shouldnt be any air entering the system

    Nice. It will be solved sooner or later. Cant give any advice on this.
    It would be nice if you would post more content about things. May sound stupid, but I do enjoy detailing videos in a bit more depth. Allso when you put the engine together and it ran, would have beennnice to hear it.

      @markmarot9026
      @markmarot9026 Yes i will get it resolved . I already did many in depth videos of 30-50 minutes on this engine so I didn't find it necessary to film and upload a 3rd engine rebuild on the same engine. Check out Episode 4,5 and 6 on my channel, where we rebuild this engine. There are also a few shorts on my channel where the engine runs. Thanks for the feedback and support :)

      @markmarot9026 Oh ok. My bad then, I misunderstood your comment. I will try too film stuff in more detail in the future. Im still learning all of this content production, but I'm getting there. I also maxed out my pc storage. Had over 1 Tb footage :/ So I had to delete a bit to get new footage in and stuck with what i found most important for the video :) When the engine is finished I'm gonna do a "M51 sound" video with induction, engine and exhaust sound for everyone to enjoy :)

    Did you touch the top part of injection pump by any chance? I think you said you replaced some seals. If you did, did you set the fueling correctly?

    • @dailydrivenclassics46
      @dailydrivenclassics46  4 місяці тому

      @Ziurkyss
      @Ziurkyss yes unfortunately i did. To eliminate this as a possible cause I am trying to hook up diagnostics to set minimum injection quantity correctly. Now i have a pc with native rs232 port and inpa still wont read. now i get errorcode ifh 0010. But all forum search did nothing. I am now trying other inpa versions. This car is driving me nuts:(
