    You can also slide-spin, if you are in a situation where slide-jumping would be dangerous or if an enemy is ahead of you
    When it comes to ice physics, it helps to only slide in the direction you want to go (no jumping or spining as those negate your momentum)
    Also you should avoid losing masks because most levels have three masks
    Please like so he sees this

      Yep, that's this game's equivalent of The Lab, where there's a bunch of cycles you NEED to make or platinum is out the window with a crazy tight time, and annoying obstacles after the hanging sections in the tunnels, along with the eels and the chaos of the end section. It feels easier than The Lab at the start once it's became consistent, but those bots in the lava tunnel are HORRIBLE to avoid.

      Honestly it amazes me when people don't do this. Caddicarus was the same when he streamed Crash 4. 10000% agree here. In terms of difficulty I'd say it goes Crash 2, then 1 then 3. Which is funny because to play the game normally I'd say Crash 2 is EASILY the easiest of the 3. But when you try to rush through it, you'll find yourself constantly hitting the normal obstacles and enemies and falling into pits you never would from playing the levels normally.
    It feels way more precise and finnicky than the other games, you'll feel yourself fighting a lot with the game just with animation recovery frames, like you'll want to spin again after spinning an enemy while charging into another immediately behind it but the few animation recovery frames in between spins it will prevent you from spinning again in time to hit the next enemy. And things like that will crop up CONSTANTLY in Crash 2.

    Also, one thing: The original Crash 2 was not made with the Speed Shoes in mind (as you might guess), so when they made this remake they basically said *"Wouldn't it be so awesome, wouldnt it be soo coool"* to give yall the speed shoes. That is why this might be difficult, you werent supposed to have the shoes, but you do.

  • @alexflorek6527
    @alexflorek6527 7 місяців тому +1

    I 100% agree with what you said on the difficulty difeerences, like, Crash 2, and especially 3 require you to do actual speedrunning way more so than Crash 1. In Crash 1 you just run and jump the same way you normally would and you just optimize it all and get some good cycles, but in the other two, there's way more to it like utilizing the power ups, and crash 3 was designed for it, so there are short cuts and extremely tight times in general, because they made the whole thing expecting you to be able to rush it like a mad lad. Plus some Crash 1 times were actually pretty generous since the game wasn't built for time trials, some not so much...

  • @SuperMSL

    Best things I can really say are that, you really wanna make good use of the glitched high jump (slide jump and spin at the same time), and honestly I don't remember needing to slide jump all over the place, usually running is perfectly fine. Also the fastest movement on ice is to spam slides so definitely keep that in mind for later, it will help a lot.

    • @necromeowcer
      @necromeowcer 7 місяців тому +3

      I would go so far as to say that glitch high jump is a must on some levels. Even in crash 3 where you have access to double jump and tornado, glitch high jump, in most cases, is still more preferable, consistent, reliable, and way easier to execute.

  • @AbdulTheArabicGuy
    @AbdulTheArabicGuy 7 місяців тому +8

    3:52 - in a way, yeah Crash 4 with the triple spin is not easy, but thankfully in that game it's not a requirement! In Crash 4, all it takes for platinum is solid platforming and making use of the slide spin spam since it's a lot faster there compared to the trilogy. Also, great improvement from the get-go on Turtle Woods. Yes, slide jumping with the speed shoes is a lot faster. This applies to both Crash 2 and Crash 3. It's very useful and makes a significant difference in time saving.
    For Turtle Woods specifically, yes you do need to utilize the hole skips for platinum. There's no other way, unless you are fast enough to use the saved time to do them all. Most levels are straightforward and don't have such cuts in them. The only level where you also utilize a death route is Cold Hard Crash. So be on the lookout for that one.
    With Snow Go, and most of the snow levels, yeah, it's just the ice physics you gotta deal with. Thankfully, this will only really be a problem with Snow Go in particular, because in every other instance you just move forward altogether.

      I also remember that part when, if you don't land precisely on the elevator platform in Snow levels, Crash does this little hop to the centre and the timer doesn't wait for you while this happens. A small thing but I feel like it wastes a bit of time

    There Are actually a lot of techs involving sliding:
    - you can cancel a slide with a jump like you already did to gain a lil momentum
    -If you dont Need to jump you can cancel a slide with a spin, This Will boost you a tiny bit and I think it feels faster than the shoes
    - or If you Need More jump height you cancel the slide into a spin followed IMMEDIATELY by a jump while the spin Animation is still active
    Slidespin is good for Just goin thru the lvl fast and keeping your Pace, slidejump for jumping over low to Medium obsticles and slidehighjump for jumping big gaps or reaching high places. Those moves Are also a Bit More safe cuz of the active spinhitbox.
    I‘d recommend you to slide on the right shoulder button then you only Need to learn the inputmotion and After a few tries musclememory will do Its magic. Hope I could help✌🏻Great Vids bro🫶🏻

    It's not just you, Lewis. Snow Go is a brutal one! I've played them all and I'm in the camp that Crash 2's Relics are even more difficult overall than Crash 1's. I think part of it is that Crash 2's levels weren't really built with the Speed Shoes in mind so it is very easy to run right into death. Unfortunately, a lot of Crash 2 Platinum Relics are absolutely maddening.
    I guess the good news is that Crash 3, while still challenging, is probably slightly easier than both Crash 1 or 2's Relics. Crash 3 had the benefit of having levels that were specifically designed to be run through quickly, so there are a lot of shortcuts and skips you can use to nab the Platinum. Also, having access to the Death Tornado Spin really breaks some of the levels in half!

    A tip for the slide jump, you don't have to necessarily do it all the time.
    What you could do is when you do a slide jump, try spinning right away after slide jumping to gain extra jump height, shaving milliseconds on spots that would take some milliseconds to get across and/or time crates in high spots that would take a few milliseconds to break efficiently, and skipping the mole segments in some of the levels if timed correctly. It's not perfect to control, but it helped me out by a long shot.

    A tip from me from my platinum journey for crash 3, and I've found it applies to crash 2 also. If a time crate is in a hard spot or out of the way, don't go for it. There is no bonus for getting all the crates. Sometimes it's faster to skip the crate then to spent the same time to freezes to get the crate.

  • @looklook876

    It helps to re-map sprint to the left bumper, that way you don't have to stretch your fingers as much. It's also way easier to slide by using the right bumper instead of B.

    No, trust me, from personal experience, I'd definitely say you did start on some of the harder levels, Snow Go especially is one of the most annoying levels and tightest platinums in Crash 2, that first ice part, the last few bounce crates and time crates, and the logs really threw me off too, but even the next ice levels are easier than Snow Go despite Snow Biz being pretty annoying with its obstacles, and Cold Hard Crash being long with the optional Death Route making platinuming it easier. Most levels after this are relatively easier like the water vehicle levels, the sewer levels apart from Hangin' Out (basically The Lab of this game, minus the consistency), the polar levels, firefly levels. etc. The Pits, which you've got coming up soon, is just a better version of Turtle Woods, but it is longer, has the same pit count, and has 2 separate routes. Here's one tip for some enemies and crates in this game: If they're on the ground, and are safe enough to do so, SLIDE SPIN THEM. It's way smoother, more consistent, and faster than just spinning or slide jumping, so use it when you think it's safe enough.

    Slide-spin also helps with speed and if you want to clear enemies in front, while Slide-spinjump helps with getting extra height higher from Slide-jump. Also just be prepared Lewis, the other snow levels is going to be this annoying lol especially Cold Hard Crash.
    Other levels that I think are annoying are Sewer levels (Sewer or later, Hangin Out), Chase level because of the mines (Crash Crush, Bearminator), Ruination, Space level (Piston it Away, Spaced Out). Jetpacks level (Rock It, Pack Attack) can be annoying as well because the jetpack control kinda weird, time is pretty tight, and you don't have much speed tech to do.
    Also in Warp Room 2, the warp room is Ice physics. That's going to be annoying and will ruin your time as well.

    You can spin immediately after a slide jump to get more height. it'll get you out of those pits if you fall in so you don't have to reset

    If I remember correctly I did it in reversed order and found 3 the easiest minius the motorbike stages and the two secret ones which you should do them and counts towards the 108%.Btw straight after 3 I did 2 there were some stages that were hard (don't remember which ones though due to it being years since I"ve played the games) you have to the learn the Slide+jump+Spin tech to do some of them which is use for speedrunning .But for some reason I found one the hardest due to the fact of it being simpler but maybe I was burnt out at this point and I was tired of the grind.

    I don’t care what anyone says, Crash 2 has by far the hardest platinum relics out of all 3 games. What makes it difficult is the addition of speed shoes. This is what makes it more difficult than Crash 1. Getting through some of these levels while trying to go fast is way more challenging than going at normal speed,

    I enjoy this much more than the Crash 1 relics, but some of the platinums times are really strict. I mostly just targetted golds. I don't know if it's necessary but I used the glitch high jump a lot.

    A genuine tip is to slide then spin, not slide then jump as you can't cancel it and it will kill you sometimes. You can slide, spin then jump too which is needed in some cases. You can time the slide spin really well and get the constant speed boost from it if you perfect it.
    The next level to this is called hobsliding, but that isn't necessary and is a bugged speed mechanic which is hard to do

    I don’t know why people said this game was easier but when I did it I found it harder. In crash one there were crazy hard levels like stormy ascent and the lab, but then had easy levels like boulder dash. With crash two ever level is kind of the same difficulty. No crazy hard levels, but no free easy ones either which made it more annoying for me.

      It’s also really hard when you don’t have much experience with the new mechanics and are used to crash one’s simplicity. I feel like the people who said its easy just have more experience with the new mechanics.

    I remember speedrunning OG Crash 2 when I was a kid, and the fastest way of moving was slidespinning back in the time. Is it even possible to pull that off in the N-sane version? Insteadof slidejumping, slidespinning could get you through a ton of obstacles, smashed crates and cleared enemies while maintaining speed, though was extremely dangerous to use around nitros and such

    Hey Lewis, just letting you know I’ve almost gotten all the gold relics in crash 1 and got all the gold relics in crash 3
    Haven’t really gone for plat relics on all the crash games but I’ll let you know something from my own personal experience
    Crash 2 is the hardest crash to get all the relics gold or above
    Hands down
    I stopped going for them a while back
    Crash 3 is by far the easiest imo and the most fun but there is one specific level that I dreaded the most out of any of them in crash 3 which was just AAAAHHH
    But other than that good luck with crash 2 and hopefully you get all the plat relics

    I wish you the best of luck, was a bit torturous watching the last game. I've tried multiple times to attain a relic in crash 2 and feels near impossible. I think because it's the games before relics were introduced that it's quite difficult, even with the slide strat.

  • @FireStormDel

    These two levels I want to get Platinum for, but I just can't get them, and with Turtle Woods, it at least has the reason of that I can't consistently do the pit jump skips, no matter the angle or technique used.
    Whereas Snow Go needs luck with the first ice patch to hit the time crates and not getting stuck getting the one just afterwards, then you have the crushers in the sideways corridor, and then the final run to the end where you've also got the time crate above the iron jump box which ideally could be done best by jumping on the seal just before it.
    No matter what I do, it's no good, but I hold hope that it'll happen one day, much like me getting Platinum on N. Sanity Beach in Crash 1.

    I personally found that outside of Snow Go and Cold Hard Crash, Crash 2 is by far the easiest for plats. Most stages have pretty lenient times so you definitely don’t have to play perfectly. Also, you definitely don’t need to slide jump everywhere. I very recently did the plats in this game and I just used the sprint shoes most of the time

  • @abed6391
    @abed6391 7 місяців тому +1

    Get used to the slide jump because it's always better and faster to use on enemies and crates

  • @TyrannoNoddy
    @TyrannoNoddy 7 місяців тому

    I'm hoping Hang Eight and Crash Dash at least are a bit easier because you're at least supposed to go fast in those levels (the former for the special gem, though I guess we'll see if needing time crates affects that, and the latter cuz you have to get crates while running from boulders anyway)
    anyway defininitely expecting you to be dreading snow biz and especially cold hard crash (which was already hard without relics)

    I know some of the levels kinda requires you to get the trippel Aku Aku mask
    ...don't remember if it was Crash 2 or 3 ...or both
    also in Snow Biz whenever you land on the platform that's suppose to bring you to the next section, whenever Crash (or Coco) does the little animation where they jump into the middle before the platform move, wastes your time, and you need to land pitch perfectly in the middle to not have that animation play and waste your time

    I got all the plat relics, never used the slide jump for speed like that at all

  • @banana360
    @banana360 7 місяців тому

    Ok, so, while running and slide jumping IS faster, it is NOT necessary for platinum relics. I feel like spamming them is just going to send you careening into pits you would otherwise easily avoid and make what I STILL say is the easiest of the 3 to platinum MUCH harder than it needs to be. And, as others have said, sliding on the ice (not jumping) is faster and slightly easier to control. Also, the devs deliberately kept the spin slide jump in this game (ergo, NOT a glitch) which helps a LOT with clearing big jumps such as those in turtle woods and the pits. The snow levels and hanging out are still going to suck, though, so have fun with that. :p
