At 9:14 I had never heard this section WITHOUT the slowing down, like in most recordings.
I had to look at the sheet music to see that THAT is how it's WRITTEN!!!! (Although the tempo is much higher here)
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT THIS WAY!!!!!

Much of VIvaldi's music, especially the violin concertos, have similar structure to much of modern pop and rock music. It worked then, and works now.

Don't forget to read Vivaldi's sonnet to fully understand the piece:
    Allegro non molto
Under a hard season, fired up by the sun
Languishes man, languishes the flock and burns the pine
    We hear the cuckoo's voice;
then sweet songs of the turtledove and finch are heard.
Soft breezes stir the air, but threatening
the North Wind sweeps them suddenly aside.
    The shepherd trembles,
fearing violent storms and his fate.
    Adagio e piano - Presto e forte
The fear of lightning and fierce thunder
Robs his tired limbs of rest
As gnats and flies buzz furiously around.
    Presto
    Alas, his fears were justified
The Heavens thunder and roar and with hail
Cut the head off the wheat and damages the grain.

@The MIDI Bach Project let's not forget that Bach literally "revived" Vivaldi's works , because Vivaldi , he was gone almost unknown to people ( because the trends have changed in the time Vivaldi was old) and after he died he was completely unknown anymore , almost no one haved interest in his music until Bach discovered his works and was very inspired ( even wrote some pieces that were inspired from Vivaldi's works) .
The same story almost about Bach , Mendelssohn haved "revived" Bach.
It exist even an rumour around that Mendelssohn when he get to a butcher to buy some meat , he observed that the butcher used some manuscripts that were actually sheets of music , to put his meat in it.
