On April 22nd 2021, the lyricless humming excerpt of this song was first released accompanied with the film footage which displayed the various moments of extreme danger faced by the characters. Zhou Shen’s delicate singing voice delivers the timeless Soviet-style music in minor tune, gently unveiling the touching stories of those selfless sacrifices at the hidden battlefields.“As soon as the prelude of the song emerged, my tears streamed down my cheeks,”many netizens who watched the film expressed how much they were taken aback by the song.
In Zhou Shen's words from his weibo on 2021.04.28 :
"During the recording, when I got to sing this part of the lyrics,“看見明天的人們，幸福的模樣” (Seeing how happy people will look tomorrow), both the recording engineer and I shed tears uncontrollably. Gratitude to all the unsung heroes!! "
When attending the film premiere on April 24th 2021, Zhang Yimou said that the film was not supposed to have an ending song at first. However, the producer sent him the song by Zhou Shen one day. He immediately felt that the tenderness and the intertwined emotions in his voice could express an unwillingness to let go of the martyrs of the past. And the well-written lyrics were a perfect fit for the hero sacrifice theme. “The song is very modern, young, yet extremely deep. Today, we are enjoying a peaceful time and calm life because the unsung heroes toted heavy burdens and marched forward in the past,” said Zhang Yimou.
