To wrap up the series, do an “Everybody vs Lucas” video where you all can collectively think about (hits, K’s, HR, etc.) to make the best roster at every position, while Lucas does it by himself. Lucas gets first pick, and can decide whether you do divisions, leagues or all. Has to be 1 player in 1 season though (like this video’s format).
This. Do this Jolly. We've gotten a taste of how gross Lucas is, but we need to see his full force.
this. absolutely this.
YES!!! Fully think they should do this. Dalton could host.
Please Jolly🙏🙏 This would be the best ending to a series OAT❤
@@Oh_that_mle YES
Never sleep on 2005 Derek Lee. God he was brilliant as a Cub.
He was a god that year.
Props to Jolly for remembering that Lucroy was one of the best catchers in the league for a short stint. 53 doubles in 2014!
Same guy who also missed all of Pujols lol
Before watching, I’m hoping someone picks 2005 Derrek Lee
Edit: Thank you, Shelfy
He deserved to win on that pull alone
Wish he would have won the Triple Crown.
I was thinking the same thing
The ultimate pull.
@@cy_young_9104 I wish he'd gotten 1 more hit. I wanted to use him for Immaculate Grid 200+ hits, haha
The best series
RBI’s draft nextttttt
I'm honestly impressed at Jake nailing that random Craig Counsell Brewers year.
8:26
I loved Rickie Weeks as a kid. First baseball player I was a fan of. Weeks/Hardy/Braun/Fielder were so fun to watch
We need Lucas to compete in more things. There's some good ideas out there like having him against multiple people to make it fair. I just miss seeing his encyclopedic brain in action.
It’s the best when dudes sitting around just start naming OG players😂 this was great
Fun fact: Shelfy beat Jolly in today's video by 40 hits PER PLAYER.
This being the first comment I see while clicking on the video on the UA-cam app…was fucking great. Fucking spoiled not even 1 sec into the video. I was on ads😂😂😂. Next time don’t reveal so much in the comments man
Literally
@@intellectualmind9512 yeahhh. Welp, how bout watch a video THEN read the comments? Comments are meant for commenting on the video you just watched, or in your case, dropping F- bombs because you're too damn dumb to realize their maayyy be spoilers in the fucking comment section😱
@@intellectualmind9512don't look
First thing that popped into my head was '11 Castro. I knew he led the league and the number was really good. Didn't realize it was the second highest available pick at any position, period.
These videos are the reason I look forward to Mondays!! Keep them coming
Thanks for showing love to Albert. An all Cardinals team would just about win it all.
C: 2016 Yadier Molina: 164 hits
1B: 2022 Paul Goldschimdt: 178 hits
2B: 2001 Fernando Vina: 191 hits
SS: 2003 Edgar Renteria: 194 hits
3B: 2001 Placido Palanco: 173 hits
OF: 2003 Albert Pujols: 212 hits
OF: 2010 Matt Holliday: 186 hits
OF: 2013 Carlos Beltran: 164 hits
DH: 2013 Matt Carpenter: 199 hits
That would've won today's episode by 82 runs.
@@p.johnson1 True. It would’ve won most of their division’s, if not all. Cardinals have had some great hitters in the 21st century.
@@p.johnson1 they were doing a hits draft, not a runs draft
@@Packerfan9761 meant hits...oops.
Wow, a lot of blast from the past names. Jack Wilson and Freddy Sanchez just had me reminiscing a bit.
Draft videos more often !!!!!!!!!
I’ve had this idea for a while and I think it would be funny: reverse draft. Select players with the FEWEST home runs/hits/strikeouts/etc.
IDEAS: Saves draft, Walks draft, HBP draft, ERA draft (lowest average out of 10 pitchers picked per player), etc….. there’s a TON of good ideas that u can do stemming from this format
The fact that Shelfy’s WORST player is in Jolly’s top 4 is WILD. He didn’t miss. When your worst is 153, you’ve done something right.
I was looking at my Derrek Lee baseball card just yesterday so I'm so proud of Shelfy for reaching in his bag. Also surprised Sosa wasn't mentioned earlier.
An NL pitcher hits draft could be fun from before the universal DH
Idk why but I love these videos. Great production y’all :)
RBI draft series next?
I totally forgot about how smart of a baseball mind Lucas devarsa was until I started watching these videos
"Does Johnny Bench have a 2000s hit season?"
The 1968 Rookie of the Year and a guy who won four pennants in the 1970s... nah, probably not still playing ball in the George W. Bush administration.
Me as a pirates fan screaming "Jack Wilson and Freddy Sanchez!"
Big cubs fan so love shelfy showing love to the cubs on those few cubs picks, that 05 DLee year goes so underrated. Btw thought fs they wouldve got juan pierre cause hes a "hits" guy
You should give out an extra award to whomever has the total most after all the drafts in a certain category are done. Makes picking strong in a blowout more appealing too
Loved this series! You should definitely do a 2020 version since they never get picked.
Old cardinals could have dominated in this. 01 Vina with 191, 03 Renteria 194, 05 Eckstein 185, 10 Holliday 186, and the Carp pick at the end.
My biggest complaint this whole series is not enough early 2000s guys cuz batting average was still important and they didn’t walk. Juan Pierre, Freddy Sanchez, even Jack Wilson hit .300 one year
The whole time I was screaming Prince Fielder 😂 dude played 162 games for like 4 years
Great video!Would love to see RBI’s or stolen bases in the future
This was such a good one
"Quit yelling light bulb at me" 🤣🤣🤣
Let's go shelfy, especially the 05 Derrek Lee pick. 200 hits, 45 homers, 50 doubles that year. A beast.
If you want to keep these going you can add in a randomizer for every round to swap divisions, decades, or even draft order. This way no one has ideas on when to draft which position, maybe they save someone big and pray their division pops up. Also we don't get stuck in the quagmire of the Central divisions lol - unless the randomizer gods deem it necessary of course.
Good idea!
This was a great episode to be a brewers fan
I wanted someone to say Scooter Gennett so bad. Love that dude! Also, his 2018 season would've beat all the 2nd base seasons they said.
NO WAY Jake started singing Love Sosa at 11:18 😂😂😂
I had Jack Wilson and Juan Pierre on my mind as possible guys who’d get picked. Would’ve nailed that Lucroy year cause in 2014 he was a doubles machine and that season was unforgettable as a Brewers fan.
Jake singing Love Sosa is amazing
I like to imagine Lucas is just doing this off the dome no computer
no william contreras at catcher is wild

Before even watching, my first reaction was '06 Juan Pierre. Doubt anyone remembers him as a Cub as that was his only Cub year. My next reaction was I believe 2012 Starlin Castro. Only good player on some bad Cubs teams
2011 Starlin Castro
@@dustinhealy1676 Yeah, that's the correct year. 2012 was my first thought without looking
As a Cubs fan I so glad he pulled 2005 Derrek Lee!
Once he said Biggio wasn’t top 3 at 2B, I immediately said Todd Walker for no reason cuz he wasn’t a huge average guy. Can’t believe he had a season with more hits than Bigg 😂
I have that shirt from old navy jolly 0:12
We need an all time nl and al hits draft. I wanna see someone guess what year honus wagner got 300 hits. And heck, u could do a negro league draft type vid since all those stats somehow count as real recorded stats.
You guys should do a pitching one and try to get the lowest possible ERA or most wins or saves or something. 3 starters 3 relievers and 3 closers
Man, I was screaming mentally '06 Freddy Sanchez throughout the whole video, solid 200+ hit season and led the league in BA that year, such an underrated season and a cool story behind it
Was waiting on 05 Derek Lee and 11 Starlin Castro. A couple of monster Cubs years.
You guys should do this but with position players with least strikeouts
Doesn't work, 'cause a pick would get better if the player played less
@@TriumphDaytona675i then you just add a minimum game rule
I’ve had this idea for a while it would be an amusing one.
TB would be a sneaky fun category to do ... for pitchers maybe IP or W
Edgar Renteria and Fernando Vina would have been great pulls late. Middle infielders in the mid 190s.
Batter strikeouts next please. I'd love just sort of flipping the concept on its head and guessing "bad" stats. So Kyle Schwarber is the 2023 batter-strikeouts leader with 215
If only Jolly had nailed the best years for all his guys, he could've had a fighting chance. Alas
You should do a runs or walks draft!
Damn Shelfy killed it for a little bit
I was screaming Jean segura in my head the whole time
Shelfy got every single players career high year it felt like what a run
this is what happens when you know these videos are coming and you can prepare beforehand
@@justinmontemayor310 yup he for sure cheated, he's struggled so much in the past vids that theres no way he just did that well out of nowhere
yall should do like national and american league but since 2010
They should do a 2020 version
The fact that Shelfy could have been beaten using just Pittsburgh Pirates since 2000 is kind of hilarious.

What's going on with the ball in that Scott rolen photo?
You should do an OPS version of this
Juan Pierre a Legend
Are the Astros allowed for the NL Central drats?
Yup. 2000-2012 Astros count
Shelfy nice job!
Do a steals draft! Definitely would test some knowledge of the guys. And give me Joez!
Or RBI’s
jolly not picking former batting champion freddy sanchez is unbelievable. he always has those. iykyk.
I thought of a pitching draft for innings pitched.
Do a war draft
Like baseball reference war not best players to go to war
shelfy is the man
I cannot believe he pulled Starlin Castro from that hat. Dude was a hits machine just couldnt field and sadly wash pushed out cuz of Javy Baez.

Also, I tried to contact u Jolly Olive on social media about this video
people forget that aramis ramirez actually played for 3 NL central teams
My brain is broken and you know this because I thought “Freddy Sanchez 06” before I thought “Albert Pujols,” and I’m a cardinals fan
My first picks in order were Pujols, Kendall, Sanchez, and Lee.
RBIs next!
These guys are just going too recent it feels like. Those early 2000s hitters played so much, got more plate appearances, went for batting average instead of power, etc
do a WAR draft next!
Draft but rookie and retirement year stats combined
gotta go 03 pujols, everybody forgets he won a batting title (.359) and arguably should have come closer than he did to breaking bonds' mvp streak
Pitcher wins? RBIs?
Up to this point nobody said Jack Wilson 2004 And I'm sad about that 😭
Do an all time draft single season draft per division. Only get hits while they’re in that division. I’m here yelling old reds and cardinals before realizing y’all only lays 25 years
This division was tough.
I don't know. Steals, suspensions, ejections. Keep it going. Second best (because Guts) show going.
Jolly once again proving he don’t know ball. “Not an NL Central guy” more like not an MLB guy
All my ball knowledge is Red Sox adjacent lol so I could tell you 2003 Edgar Renteria SS and 2013 Matt Carpenter 2B and 2004 AP 1B lol
Out of the two Cardinals teams that could go to the Super Bowl, St Louis is more likely to go.
How did 2004 Moisés Alou: 176 hits, not get picked?
jollys face at the derek lee pick needs to be framed
Was really hoping for a Brian Giles pick
which yr tho very important
@@reed5369 Gotta be 2000 or 2001. They’re both almost identical in terms of hits.
Pitchers wins or ERA would be cool too
I agree that would be sick
I kept saying Derrek lee 2005 cmon! Let’s go!
Please tell me some went 2004 Jack Wilson
Edit: man 😔
I really want longest last name draft
I don't think you should sit in that stage right seat again Jolly. It's bringing you bad vibes man :D
I don’t know what Jolly was on during this one but I don’t want it.
Picking Ricky Weeks was gutsy
