@@julianaramos8523 seems Italian
This theme slaps so hard I never skipped it
Bro I even looked forward to it haha
I’m waiting for it to kick up another notch after it ends. 🤣 never happens. 😢
I didnt skip a single intro 😂😂❤
Not even once
best part of season two
One Of the best theme songs ever created showing love grief betrayal lust greed and all in just frames ❤
I thought of the mouth sounds that are like whoahwhoahwhoahwhoahwhoah lol pause
LUV IT, SO UNUSUAL ❤️
@@br00talitydawg Its more than a " SHOW " 2 brilliant seasons so far 👏
I think seasson 1 have better
Ok that’s a bit too extra
Needs a proper 6 minute house track version. Its honestly one of the best things i've ever heard.
seriously bro, i was straight mesmerized when i first heard it. it builds up beatifully. Love the lowkey guitar in the background.
They have Tiësto made it yesterday
The White Lotus Theme by Dimitri Vegas and Steve Aoki
Agreed
I would like recommendations to you the opening of : the Romanoff
HBO never disappoints in openings.
House of the Dragon’s intro was a dud
Curb your enthusiasm and especially sopranos
Succession!! God I love Successions opening
HBO never disappoints with its choice of series' period
True blood was my fav
the season 1 song was incredible and somehow they made it even BETTER for season 2 🙌
Preach, much like the rest of the show, the theme song only got better! 🥰
He’s a sick composer - the Utopia theme song (and show) was incredible, and more recently his score for The third day if you’re into this kind of thing (no idea how to describe it but I love it)
❤️❤️❤️
Can't wait what they create for the next season.
Season 1 had a more pure, animalistic and hypnotic theme. To me its clearly the stronger version of the two.
One of the best opening credits for a season of TV ever.
This and peacemaker
What makes this opening a masterpiece is how it captures the facade of the high class vibe that overrules the protagonists in the show, that slowly unwinds into the inevitable primitiveness of the human experience
Great observation! I’m somehow reminded of that line by the Dad from S1, “In the end, we’re all just monkeys”.
Yesss 👏
this description also reminds me of the opening for the show succession (one of my favorite shows), which also highlight the cynicism/unraveling of rich white people
shut up and enjoy 😅
Well said. It really is a genius opening. And beautiful at the same time.
I adore how the opening title music, aptly titled "Renaissance", starts off smoothly, and then builds to a tense jungle beat as the credits progress.
Yes .. and as the pace picks up the paintings become more and more suggestive and predictive.
Jungle????
Jungle? It's inspired by Rafaella Carrá, a cheesy 80's eurodance Italian popstar.
im not gonna be shocked if this song will be my top song on spotify wrapped next year….
Me too
I would listen to it more often but I always get disappointed by how short it is
@@MrPeryfin it needs an extended version
@@foxgloves4140 listened to it today, it's honestly pretty bad
It was on mine 😂😂😂😂
I love how the graphics really tell us a lot about each character's arc in the season. For instance, Jennifer Coolidge's credit depicts a princess locked in a tower, with a monkey chained nearby. Tanya is not only wealthy, but the people around her are those who are on her payroll, such as Portia, who has no choice but to hang out with her.
Wow, I never paid attention to the visuals like that, thank you for pointing it out!
Aubrey Plaza’s Harper - with her nagging antics and grating personality is also represented in the motif of two birds in flight, one incessantly pecking at the other (Ethan is the other bird)
Jon Gries being a donkey with people riding him leaves me with a big question mark. Was he actually part of a larger plot?
The frame with the lady peaking out staring at the couple talking is the resort manager and the front desk staff..
They did this in season 1 as well.
Also at 0:21 Tom Hollander's (Quentin) name appears while a statue is pointing at 2 men while Sabrina Impacciatore's (Valentina) name is shown while a statue is pointing at 2 women. In hindsight, it's obvious what they're implying
This opening will always be one of the most majestic and beautiful ever created. The whole renaissance concept, the song... just brilliant on so many levels
Fasten your seat belts it's going to be a bumpy night
@@drliz6783 Haha this Margo Channing quote can be used by us every time we are about to watch an ep of The White Lotus
One of the best opening credits to exist 🙌
I’m curious, what are the other contenders for you? For me “The Expanse,” “Game of Thrones,” and “Succession” are the only other shows where I actually want(ed) to watch the intro, but this one is definitely my favorite overall - season 1 a close second.
@@drewbie879 the succession intro is so great
@@drewbie879 the Sopranos too, surely
I'm not sure how they are going to make this slap even harder for season 3.
They’re going south east trust me there’s lots to play with ☺️
I love this show. I can’t wait for season 3
absolutely can't wait, although i don't think it's even possible to top season 2. Id be happy if season 3 is as good or better than season 1.
Tanya 💔
Have they confirmed a season 3? Very happy if so!
@@fizzlebomber674 Season 2 was just amazing.
When is season 3??? 😍😍
First show I’ve ever ever not skipped intro to.
same, first ever
His dark materials, then this show
The only intro I never skip
This slaps so hard with headphones and a glass of red wine 🖤
Or white wine🥂😍
Might be the greatest opening credits sequence of all time.
I concur
@@craigmarshall6690 Succession? Game of Thrones?
@@miguelrosado6348yeah those are the best two
@@miguelrosado6348 Successions is great too, I'd throw House M.D. in there as well but White lotus is a high contender.
i like bojack horseman’s too
I love it when the camera zooms in on the two guys blowing each other lol to me that's what makes the shows so great. You get lulled by gorgeous imagery and their luxurious lifestyles before something totally random and shocking smacks you in the face and reminds you that these are very twisted people 🤣 like everyone else
This is the type of editing where you just feel the love that got poured into it until everything was frame-perfect and tight. Amazing skill and passion on display here. Must have felt great to show that off for the first time to the rest of the team knowing you nailed it.
Yeah, I used to do creative editing semi professionally, and this is extremely impressive.
This gives me Dopamine + Adrenalin + Serotonin + Inspiration
The only credits I never skip. Breathtaking.
This opening theme is even deeper than I originally thought. It openly tells us about every character and their fates in a beautiful homage to the entire season. All of the imagery is symbolic and it was staring at us right in the face. Brilliant.
Quite literally staring, in some of the frames. I never noticed the subtle movements before either; the mural is alive.

if this is not playing in clubs in 2023 people be missing OUT
I think they really got it right the second time. I love how quaint and formal it initially sounds, then just gets more debauched and depraved as it crescendos toward the end. 👍
Everyone should be proud of this production, wow. Great season.
Season 3 need to come back quickly
Not often that the 2nd season is better than the 1st but White Lotus pulled it off.
Season 1 is way better!!
@@danielsilverman7397agreed I absolutely loved season two but the first is still the best season.
excuse me while i listen to this 8362528485 times in a row
This might genuinely be the greatest TV show opening ever
I’m in a hotel that gives me these vibes. I keep playing this track daily thinking I’m
In the white lotus 😂😂 Will upload my holiday snaps to this music ❤️
As an art historian these moving paintings make me weep I love them sooo much
I love how the theme displays each characters respective arc in a way or at least gives you a preview of who they are as people and the problems they face
The three holes. 🤔 I’m very fixed on it. Must mean something! 😂
I like that a few shows on HBO, Succession and White Lotus included, credit their actors in alphabetical order in their respective openings. White Lotus for example is so intriguing as in Szn 1 & 2 Mike White attributed a certain animal, person, act for each actors name pertaining to their character on the show. I love little details like that.
Beautiful and addictive yet ominous and unsettling.
Dikio exeis
White Lotus gets under your skin in a very primal way...
I love how it's so similar to the first season's opening but with a "Renaissance-y" twist to set the mood. Brilliant.
The season 1 opening theme was a great, surprising earworm. This one's even better. Again, the locus of innovation in instrumental music is no longer to be found in mainstream/academic art music (stuck in yesteryear's avant-garde) but with a new generation of genre-bending composers who've made independent careers as performers of their own music or in writing for television/film.
bingo
I read on twitter that every scene there with each actor/ actress names basically depicts what kind of character they are and its so cool!
this is amazing and so smart. i love how the theme song is connected with season 1 theme song. i'm really curious and excited to hear how they're going to interpolate the hawaiian sound in season 3 intro
“Amazing🤓”
@@Lucas-cz5to ??
@@nate735everything is pointing to Asia, probably Thailand or Japan.
Season 3 theme song will have an Asian flare
@@Lucas-cz5to you’re so cool, Lucas. It’s too bad not everyone can be as cool as you. 🤡
gd goosebumps every single time.
Mike White is just an absolute genius
The man who created this song (Cristobal Tapia de Veer) is the same guy that created the amazing Utopia soundtrack. It's crazy how talented he is.
I just can't stop listening to this. Best theme / intro song in a long time. The pure vocal in the beginning seamlessly transitions into the craziness of this season. Many have said this is gonna be hard to top to which I totally get.
WE NEED TANYA's ORIGIN STORY
It reminds me when Quentin asked Tanya "tell me all about you"
And she answered "I was born in Los Angeles..."
He replied something like "ok, right from the beginning..."
@@jingarosm San Francisco...
actually i want that too set in a fancy hotel in new york. with a young tanya and her parents. maybe jennifer coolidge can play as tanyas mom.
Please I need it so bad 😢😢😢
Watched the first season. Then the second one. I had no idea what I signed up for. I can’t get this ear worm of a riff out of my mind. Human sacrifices must be made! Something must be done.
Phenomenal season. The whole score is incredible
HBO doesn't miss with the intros. Never would I have expected it to build up like that near the end. What a beautiful surprise for the showrunners to add this to season 2.
i cannot get this song out of my head, i am literally hearing it in my dreams
sometimes im at work and don't notice i've subconsciously had it playing in my head on a loop
What 😂
Best song for a TV Series, ever. Period.
One of the most beautiful pieces of music i've ever heard
Cristobal Tapia de Veer never misses. If you like this, check out his soundtrack to the UK series "Utopia". (Actually just check out the whole show because it's amazing.)
This show is like a cousin to Black Mirror. Such a huge potential. AND SO REAL.
Agree
Did anyone loses it when they saw the monkey riding the goat 😂
I want this song as my ringtone!... It captures human & mystical emotions on so many levels....bravo!
Same thought here!!!!!
What’s a ringtone?
@@coreyjudson1966 get off UA-cam. You’re definitely too young to be on here
Def gotta be one the best opening credit theme songs ever
This is the reason why I started to watch The White Lotus. ¡Amazing!
Can I just say that I absolutely adore the angry looking monkey riding a goat? 0:50
Love the theme but the imagery in this opening never ceases to amaze me. I want half of it blown up and framed for my office 😂
This opening is fascinating and mesmerizing
We don't skip this one
This intro is one of the best works of art I seen all year.
We want Tanya back!
way better than season 1 version
The only theme song I never skip. This and The Leftovers.
Still not sure which opening was better, both are a f****king masterpieces!
Cristobal Tapia De Veer never fails
Season 2 theme is wayyy better than the first season
Simply the best intro Ive ever seen
The second season deserves the double of awards the first one won. Mike White outdone himself.
I was waiting for some new episode to start after the end of the intro…😢 I am so sad that white lotus ended. I am eagerly waiting for the 3rd season .
I have not watched the show but have been told the theme song is amazing. I'm impressed but also laughing so hard
This song gets me so hyped lol I wish there was an extended version
actually there is, search it
there is on Spotify
@@slantedglasses7242 sorry I meant that it keeps the same beat or whatever that’s in the first 1:30 mins because after that it changes it’s tone if that makes sense. I’d like it to just continue on that front
They should make it that Jennifer Coolidge Haunts the White Lotus, like all of them, she said she went. to them all.
have her be like a presence that moves a vase at the right time to get people to act a certain way, she was a romantic, like she would make it rain so two people are stuck together somewhere. or help out some one cool who she thinks needs a break.
and maybe if they take hallucinogens she could appear to some one, but mostly just her Jennifer Coolidge presence
This season was way better than first one in my opinion, the characters and the ambience, it was such a cute very casual journey.
This might just be the BEST tv show theme song in history
I think this show is amazing i also think there is a very serious undertone to the show. We could be watching a very hidden horror show. There are many moments where its almost hinted that there are evil spirits involved somehow. As if to say the rich are in some way cursed when they show the various art pieces in the scenes. I also feel like the opening song is masterful as it starts off very calming and distinguished but as the beat gets more energetic you can still hear a chaos in it. There is even a very slight misaligned melody along with the strange creature sounds. I feel like its about the dark underbelly of the wealthy. Also looking at the images, it seems it gets darker and creepier as the song progresses with everyone still posing as if they are still of this high stature. Very beautiful show. I love it! I know the curse thing is a crazy far reach lol ... I think that's why in season 1 the son who stayed in hawaii seemed like he escaped in a way.
My cats love this theme song 😂. When I watched it they would perk up and get excited to watch the rest of it. They have good taste
Best of theme songs ever listen 👌✴️
never skipped this opening. all season long. great work!
Chills. Even during the best times, you're aware tragedy awaits
1:23 This moment is sooo Cristobal
Everything about this song is perfection. I love the increasing franticness and tribalism that makes you grow uneasy as the song progresses.
I'm completely obsessed with this show, HBO never disappoints
As far as theme songs go... This is one of the best of all time
I love when the music ramps the the paintings start getting more graphic. Lol genius
Am really excited for the Thai version of the opening for Season 3
I don't know how season 3 can beat this! Sooo good omg i loved so much!!
when you're looking for the intro on youtube istead of skipping it when the show starts... so powerful!
Have had this opening credits song stuck in my head soooo loud these past 2 weeks! Like been sat at work on the reception desk & customers talking at me, and all im hearing is otherworldly warbling and dance beats 😄 Absolutely loved Season 2 and the credit art/music is just perfection 😍
Pure art.
I start singing this at random times throughout the day to make my mom laugh 😂
I’ve never had a theme tune to a tv show that both stresses me out and excites me at the same time
We are all obsessed with this, ain't we? 😂
Love the Baroque art👍
I just can't stop watching this
Right in the gut. Every. Freaking. Time.
Ladies and gentlemen...let me introduce the great Cristobal Tapia De Veer!
Seriously one of the best themes ever. It SLAPS.
