One query. I've just recently discovered Black Rock kits and have now made the Golden Ale, Draught, Dry Lager and Nut Brown. None of these kits produced any noticeable krausen (which was a bit of a worry) but fermented out quite quickly. Is the lack of krausen a characteristic of your kits? I generally brew at the lowest recommended temperature in a controlled environment. Only addition is 600 gms of brew enhancer. All brews have been VERY good drops and Coopers has lost a customer!
Hi there, you can follow these instructions and only fill to 18L in your fermenter. This will just increase the color, bitterness, flavor slightly. It will also increase your alcohol to 5-5.5% ABV.
@@jean-baptistevarlet4079 you can use sugar. Sugar will give you a low body, low malt beer. The more malt you use instead of sugar, the better the quality, body and flavour.

Is Ultra light just Sucrose?
And would regular sugar be an ok substitute?
Sorry for the very late reply! No, Ultralight is 80% malt extract and 20% maltose, which is a sugar derived from malt.

How would I adjust for 5 US gallons (18.9 litres)?

Could I actually use some cheap vodka in a spray bottle rather than no rinse steriliser?
Yes, absolutely!
