Retail Dumpster Diving on Trash Day!

- Hi y'all and welcome back! We went out to check some of our retail spots today and even though it was trash day, we ended up finding some great donatable items and a festive holiday candle! I tried the freezer trick to remove the broken glass and show you how well it worked at the end of the video. As always, thank you so much for watching and I hope you have a wonderful day! Howdy and happy Tuesday! We went out for some trash day diving just to switch things up and see what’s out there. It’s always great to find things to donate and I love the candle, the freezer trick worked great!

I have been watching you for years and love that Alex DD's with you full time for a long while now. I can't believe they didn't see the skeleton in the pop dumpster and Halloween fencing. I kept saying look right there plz see them . 😂😂😂
...and I kept saying get the Hot Wheels starter track. My grandsons love those, thrifty shopper! 😊 Just a thot, can you leave little toys like that at the free pantry? I'm sure kids would love to receive a toy now & then. Just a thot!! 😊

Bones is so precious! My babies get feisty too! Make sure when you play with him with a laser pointer that you give him a treat afterwards so that he can feel like he actually caught something, since they psychically can't catch a laser dot. It can give them ocd to not be able to physically catch prey, so a treat gives them a physical reward!
My granddaughters cat loved to play with a clown nose, she would run after when someone would throw it, once it was captured by her, her whole demeanor changed, she pranced back to where granddaughter was with her tail straight up, it was so cool watching the change in her. Well they moved out of state and then back again and the nose was lost. I searched several times online to find her a nose like the one she was so fond of, finally found them, now she’ll never run out, I think they were sold in lots of 24! 😂😂😂
Also they picked up a new cat during their move, he likes the nose too, but he wants to play fetch with it, someone throws it, he runs for it and brings it back waiting patiently for someone to throw it again.
Oh my goodness where are all of those boxes? I agree with the other commenter that if they fined they would probably be neater. What a mess.

Those broken pumpkin buckets wouldve been cute to put mums in or just a planter in general for Halloween.

Hi Kelly, regarding the candle...unless you find the perfect container, you can use jute cord - or ribbon - to wrap around it a few times to hold it together. You can buy the cord at the dollar tree or any craft store, very inexpensive, just wrap around a few times then tie it off tight is what I would try. Good luck. One thing I love to do is work with candles, I bought a couple books but you can find some in library on candle making. Very easy. You can get supplies at the craft stores (wicks and other things) I use crayons for color and essential oils for smell...so much fun. I also take old free candles I find at garage sales and shave them down so I can melt the wax to pour into containers which I also upcycle as well...spraypainting gold or whatever color I wish...mirror effect on clear glass very pretty. Anyway, seems like you find plenty of candles so I just thought I'd pass my little hobby along...so easy and fun.
You can also cut the candles up in chunks and use them as wax melts!!!!!

Candles that you remove can be put in Deep Bowls so if they melt or burn down, they won't leak all over your furniture or counters.. Happy Birthday!! Hope it is Fun..

Hey Kelley, maybe you should consider getting Bones a kitty friend. We used to have 3 cats and they kept each other company when we were out. They were so funny to watch when they played together. 2 cats are not any more work than 1. Happy Birthday 🎉

You can also make the B&BW candles into wax melts for warmers. I use a melon baller and scoop out little spheres for friends and then just drop the extra (less pretty) off cuts in my own warmer. Once melted you'll never know the difference.

Hi guys, if you find candles still in a broken glass jar, pop it in a plastic bag iand put it in the freezer for a little while, the candle should then fall out easily. The glass can be disposed of still in the plastic bag ..Good luck.

You can also cut the pieces of the candle into chunks of wax and use them as wax melts, no need to light them. Just use one of the warmers and it will make the house smell yummy. If you put them in a cupcake liner on the warmer it will keep it clean too 🥰

I use pieces of candles in my candle warmer; adding the pieces to an appropriate container, such a an empty candle jar works for us

If you have a birthday candle or taper candle light it and drip a bit on a broken part of the candle and stick it back together. If you have a decorative salad plate drip a bit of wax on the plate place the candle in the wet wax wait a minute and your candle is attached to the plate and ready to be placed and used. 😊
There were some pretty gold picture frames in the old store.
The stuff for under carpet is underlay thats what we call it in Australia

Candles ….. I never light them. I put them in a glass and put that on a mug warmer. No flame, No fear of forgetting to put out the fire. It melts on the warmer and smells just as good.

The freezer hack is also great for getting the last bits of a candle out of the glas holder after it has been burned.

With the candles, you can break the wax into smaller pieces and put them into a wax melter, like a Scentsy. Always love your videos!!
I am happy you tried freezing the candles to get the wax out of the broken glass holders. I am actually shocked you had never heard of that before nor tried it before now. I know many of us suggested that to you in the past in older videos and I know many other Divers do that and have talked about it on their channels.

The orange and blue plastic parts at 6:11 are hot wheels tracks and connector pieces. Those are good for yard sales or will get snatched right up on a Buy Nothing page.
😊 when i find a candle with broken glass i freeze it too. But if you find large coffee mugs with broken handles save them for the candles they fit just right.
