I'm also no expert, but from what I can contribute, I'd say it could be useful to find out more why the person displays those challenging behaviors; often times there's an underlying reason and it could be that some needs of this persons are not being met. A good Support worker may be able to help identify these needs and plan the paths/programs/actions to help this persons needs be accessed and achieved.
@@durianyao being Autistic myself I was around handicapped people all the time and observed challenging behavior that was violent. One time I sat across from a guy on the bus who had the genetic disorder 4P Minus (can't spell the medical term) who was clinically paranoid. He would always hit people (mainly me for some reason).
The concept of graded assistance is phenomenal. Enabling them to participate in activities create a good feel
It is a credit to staff how they interact with each person and their different needs
