I call it more beerie taste. Funny my Dad would only drink Miller High Life and it had to be from the 32oz bottle lol! Whats with Miller drinkers its like a cult following. I used to steal my Dads beer so he called me a Beer Hound lol!
My dad also drank High Life from the 32oz bottles. We had several keg parties in high school, but I didn't like beer at the time (1980s). I'd fill one of his High Life bottles with cold apple juice and bring it along to sip on. Nobody ever suspected it wasn't a bottle of High Life. ; )
One is the champagne of beers, the other is 80’s marketing. Can’t lie, while I’m a bit snobby about some beers.....The High Life is one of my favorites.
Not too fond of the new mgd can...the original print was much better.. I'll pick Miller High Life over mgd any day, for price and taste. Great review! Keep them coming! Cheers!
Agree- the old MGD bottle/can were much classier (gold leaf label, script font, etc.). The same could be said about the most recent High Life packaging, but I think they're going for an early 1900's throwback theme (matte brass instead of gold) which is respectable.
Miller high life is a pilsner beer, if that means anything. A guy that's from Pennsylvania (of course) was the one that got me drinking MHL. So with, I also found out that Hank sr. likes MHL, and the can also looks like King Of The Hill's "Alamo" beer lmao. So other than the taste, those are 2 reasons why I like it more than others.
I also prefer MHL. I love the 32 ounce bottles. MGD is my 2nd best but hard to find it in convenience stores. I have to go to BevMo. But if they ever start making MGD in 32 oz bottles, then I’m making it my 1st choice. 3rd choice is Miller Lite, and you can find it anywhere.
I already knew at the beginning of the video that yellow was High life because the yellow glass was foamy and had lacing on the glass and High life is literally the most foamy beer ever and is my favorite beer and beer I drink most often. I really like MGD too. They both are great beers. In fact Miller beers in general are awesome. MGD, High Life and Miller Lite are some of my favorite beers. Miller Lite being my favorite light beer.
Great review-I think I tend to favor MGD. Would love to try cans of it. Can only get bottles from what I’ve seen in Massachusetts. Cheers from a fellow Joe
It's not the same beer, High Life is 4.6%. A few years back the recipes where altered so that one was 4.7% and the other was 4.6. The High Life uses the Galena hops that's why it never get skunky even in a clear bottle. I knew the yellow glass was High Life too because it always has more lacing.
The cold filtering really does impart a much more subtle smoothness. Finally got my hands on some MGD tonight and damn, it really does taste like MHL from an unpasteurized pump. Much more complex malt character with a bright upfront hop note. I find canned MHL tastes more like corn syrup and doesn't have that bright character or complexity. I enjoy MHL, but as a first time MGD drinker, I can say, at least for me, a very impressive adjunct lager that borders on a 'prohibition style' lager more so.
I drank a ton of MHL years ago. There was someone in our circle of friends who worked for a canning facility. I think we were able to score a 24 case of MHL for about $10.
High Life is the only beer that doesn't give me a bad hangover for some reason. Oddly the one beer that makes me feel absolutely horrible the next day is Michelob Ultra. I've heard others say the same thing. I think they add something to it honestly. I watched a show one time where they interviewed people who lived to 100 years old and asked them what their secret was. One guy was 102 years old and he said he ate bratwurst for breakfast every morning. One old gal said her secret was drinking a 32 oz High Life every day lol
I've been laughed at many, many times for drinking Miller High Life while all my friends and relatives were drinking BUD and Coors... I never changed my brand and still love a ice cold frosty bottle of M. H. L.....
In the Japanese craft sake area draft vs. pasteurized can make a huge difference with the draft 生 - nama - being more expressive and even juicy. Sake flavors in general tend to be subtle so that's likely why namas 'pop'.
@@jsenigaglia It's another world, bro. Luckily for me my wife is Japanese and we travel to Japan every year. It's easy to pick up a fresh, tasty 720ml of sake for about $10 thanks to the strong dollar.
I went to Tokyo and Yokosuka back in 2018 and completely fell in love with that country. I can’t wait to get back there. I was shown the magic that is onigiri while there and it changed my life 🤣
Can you do a comparison video for Old Style. Does anyone think Old Style taste like High Life? I haven’t found anything that compares to OldStyle besides Montucky maybe.
Hold on let me just finish these 2 beers bring out 2 more glasses and I’ll let you know after those 2 cuz the taste of beer either gets better or worse down the line so we need those parameters also😂
MGD has an off-putting taste...maybe a vegetable oil taste or something. I don't really know how to describe it. But again, it was in a clear bottle. Haven't tried it in can form. Clear bottles aren't ideal when it comes to beer.
MiGD all the way my friend. I have tried all the Miller line up and MGD taste better.

still have the gold and black label in Canada
@@FPSABE1 That's great- I hear the same applies to the UK
That's an interesting taste challenge.
I was surprised they tasted different (although only slightly). Fun one to do 🍻

I enjoy both of these beers, but HL wins for me on availability alone. MGD is rare around these parts for whatever reason. Cheers! 🍻
I also prefer MHL. I love the 32 ounce bottles.

These beers are called "pilsner", but they're not real pilsners. A REAL pilsner is like, pilsner urquell, from the czech republic.

Having never been a miller drinker until recently, I never knew the lacing thing when it came to miller beers. So many others have said the same. 🍻🍻
Miller Genuine Draft is super hard to find in my area too, I've only seen it at one random walmart.
So weird it’s so tough to find these days.
Where do you live? I live in Ohio and are kinda easy to find in grocery stores, gas stations and convinience stores. MGD is a great beer.
Great review-I think I tend to favor MGD. Would love to try cans of it. Can only get bottles from what I’ve seen in Massachusetts. Cheers from a fellow Joe

It’s so weird to me that MGD is so scarce around here. Is it readily available where you’re at?
the draft just became my all time favorite beer, that and Yuengling
Wish we got Yeungling out here in Cali 🍻
Where I live MGD and lite is everywhere. Hard to find high life
It’s so weird how distro is everywhere!

Don’t even let folks tell ya what you should be drinking. MHL is better than both Bud and Coors IMO 😎
Great idea. Subbed. More people should try this challenge lol
It was fun to drink them without knowing which was which 🍻
I like those glasses! Where are they from?
They're from Permanent Hangover dot com. They release them every now and again.
I do enjoy both and I can fortunately buy both where I live. I think I prefer MGD slightly more, but both are good in their own right.
I go High Life just because it’s so readily available ya know? 🍻
draft has more carbonation to it and that's what really makes me like it.

Doesn't Miller us some sort of light resistant hop in those bottles? Or is that just for High Life?
@@jsenigaglia I'm really not sure.
Way late on this one, but the lacing was a dead giveaway. High Life has crazy, almost unnatural lacing
I learned that after making these videos. Miller lacing is crazy! 🍻
yooooooooo whats up my man
Sup brother 🍻
Hi life Rocks mate
For sure! 🍻
MGD is way better than High Life
If thats what you like, thats what you like. Cheers!
MDG is so bland that it is nearly flavorless.
I mean, most American macro lagers are if we’re being honest don’t you think?
I do not like pasturized beer.
What beers are your favorite?
High Life smells like feet
Haha what kind of feet have you been smelling? 😉🍻
Miller High Life is actually good for a cheap beer. MGD tastes like shit
Mmmmmm shit! 😬
i don’t see how you taste those notes. Every beer just tastes like beer to me and i can’t enjoy it
These macro lagers all really taste the same. If you sit with some micro beers you’d be able to taste other things over time 😄🍻
