YES!! I've been searching for other ceramicists and your video popped up:) I do hand-building too, it is really so much fun, putting up pieces together and figure out how to make them stand up and survive the kiln lol..
Pls make videos again i just found you and think you and your art are incredible - been looking for quirky cool ceramicists on UA-cam and i feel it’s hard to find!
Thanks for sharing! I don’t do ceramics, but I make soaps, candles, bath bombs etc and I’m considering moving my studio into the basement because it’s taking over my kitchen/upstairs 😅
Thank you for the tour! I have a similar basement. I'm a beginning potter, and would be glad if you could answer a couple of questions. How big (square feet) would you say your work space is? How did you know for sure that you were committed enough to make a home studio? And, what advice would you give to a beginner? Thanks!
Hi! I use about half of my basement, so that’s about 400ish sq ft. I went to university for ceramics which was its own twisted journey, so I had already committed to making clay a part of my life, whether it be part time or full time ☺️ As for beginner advice, I think the number one thing I can offer is take it slow! I think social media really gets us into thinking we need to go go go and get to the top ASAP but the creative process isn’t like that for everyone, and that’s ok. As for more clay specific advice, make time for experimenting and learning. This medium is soooooo expansive and can do so many cool things!
@@AveRivera thanks so much! You're right about expense. I've had a couple people tell me, just get your own kiln, but that's something I really need to give lots of thought to! Best of luck to you!
Love the craft foam for templates! :o) When I move house this year, I'll create a studio - but it will have to be a good size just to fit in my enormous dog (Spanish mastiff) haha.
Of course! any half mask respirator rated for painting (VOC's) is good. The filters I get are normally the magenta ones but they've been hard to come by. Also don't be like me and store it in a plastic bag! I forget to put it back :S
Just set up my basement studio this weekend! .. and started a YT channel 😅! Can’t wait for my studio to be transformed into a functioning space ❤

@@AveRivera please do🫶💚I’m also an artist too and I’m gonna be starting soon! did making videos help you with shop sales?

The right lighting makes all the difference! I could probably add a few more clamp lights 😂
Loved the tour of your studio. Good luck with everything.
Thank you!!
It was lovely to see your work space. Love your personality :)
Thank you! ☺️ studio tours are always fun 💕

So glad I found you on Tiktok! ☺️
I’m such a noob over there 😆 Looking forward to checking out your content too, I love cartoons (and analyzing them!!)
@@AveRivera I am not great at Tiktok lol I went viral once and I regretted it immediately lmao

Thanks for sharing! Love seeing other studios. What mask do you recommend for luster?

Awesome studio tour
it's very interesting your video. I have a lot more chaos🙃
I totally keep my cones. I also sculpt ridiculous cone packs like dragons and hedgehogs and then give them to little humans who visit my studio.
oh man that's so cute! My cones are self supporting, but maybe I'll start putting them towards a project. IDK why it feels weird to toss them lol.

Cheap machine shops will easily make you what ever design and exact size you want for cookie cutters... Just an idea... Call for quote...
That’s a great idea!
