    Had to laugh when you mentioned the feet thing. My Gray does like bare feet and I have to remember to keep my feet up when he is down on the floor. It's quite a shock when he gives my big toe a pinch...startles the heck out of me...lol.

    Great response to the question of cost. I hadn't looked that far into it, and when you said 5K, I was like "SO WORTH IT!" I totally understand your reasoning. I can't wait until we're ready, I'm excited to book and learn from you both!

    Male Congo African Grey parrots are more outgoing than the females I raised them for 26 years . I love them best of all birds. The females are more affectionate

    Some birds cost 5k to 15k so really you're paying for an insurance policy by having consultations and education. That's how I'd view it. If you love your animals as much as I do it would be money well spent.

    I love Cressi & all her relatives. I raised them for 25 years. She is quiet but very intelligent. I kept them 25 years a male & his sister. I raised them from 9 days old. At 9 months Timy said Hi , where are you, here I am, come on out. We had regular conversations about anything & everything.
    I’m a country girl so your concern about birds being sexually motivated sounds so normal . I just ignored it. I love Your channel & knowledge.

    I have a African gray female. She was a major plucker when I got her . I think she likes it here. She hasn't been plucking, just seems to groom herself. My house is quiet and I think that helps her.

    5K is not expensive for your expertise. It is like a college level course and no one complains about that and plenty of people don't get jobs after - you guarantee your work. Find someone else doing what you and Dave do.

    Chickens pluck their breast feathers and under wing feathers when they're broody. They use them to line their nest to make it soft and warm for their eggs and then chicks after hatching them out. They also snug their eggs under the wings to keep warm and use it a way to turn their eggs.

      Just ask a local welder to make you something, that's what we did but when we tried to sell them it was ridiculous shipping costs so we never went through with it. But they're made from steel so birds like macaws can take off and land on them without worry of them tipping over.

      BirdTricks do you all have the stands powder coated or what kind of coating? What are the large cages you have in the garage? The feet thing! Our Umbrella Cockatoo is a Land Shark and if you run he chases you and if you don’t catch him and stop him he will bite! Still working with him we just adopted him after 10 years of being rehomed.

    I have a African Grey who is really mellow. I have had her since she was 1yr she is now 30 years old. I tried different shower temp's from lukewarm to cold to hot tub temp, she prefers hot tub temp through gradually increasing the temp. My African Grey can be very hormonal

    I don't think I could ever do free flight in Michigan, there's lots of trees and interesting stuff for them to hide in-and there's tons of eagles, hawks, and other predictory birds, not to mention other really aggressive territorial species

    I've taken on a blue throated conure. She's a year old and was a velcro bird, I've managed to get her over that and she's happy to spend time on a perch.
    However, she screams and yells every time I leave the room, any suggestions of how to train her out of this?
    Thank you.

    • @BirdTricks
      @BirdTricks  6 років тому +4

      Cristina Martiño Romero I really don’t believe so. Especially when working with nature and doing it at the fledging age. Maybe they say it from the whole phobic standpoint how greys normally fear new things. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Cressi is awesome so no regrets.

    How come your birds do not fly away?when hey free fly

    • @lexburen5932
      @lexburen5932 5 років тому +1

      They do not fly away because they love the human(s) whom care from them. Those birds do not know the wild, They stay where it safe, and where they get the food = the humans. If a Bird don't like you, or he is afraid of you the bird is more likely to fly away, and will be hard to lure him with treats.

      Courtney Zuschlag
      Many birds have so many different physical signs of happiness or sadness/upset depending on the bird! Could be hormones, the food they eat or many other reasons. They pretty much touch on the subject in some way in like every video. Peruse through their videos. I guarantee they’ve made a video about that or talked about it in some way. Gotta pay attention and be empathetic. Read their energy.
