Even the Premier EXL-1 isn’t bad with some changes. For the “rockabilly” sound, a Tune-O-Matic brightens things. I play D!Addario Chrome XL .011-.050 flatwounds. I changed my bridge to Graph Tech ResoMax last week. My amp is a ‘68 Custom Princeton Reverb; a little darker than ‘65 Reissue so my tone are 6 treb, 4 bass. Got a couple videos on my channel.
I have a left-handed version of this one. Thinking of putting labella flatwound strings on it. Are 13's too much for this guitar? I'm wanting a more mellow sound.
I think the OP misspelled pickup and wrote pick guard as there’s no plating on it. At least that’s what I was referring to. Looked like a dull spot but could have been a reflection.

Did I miss something in the review? There's a missing pickup mounting screw in the pick guard which wasn't mentioned.

13 and flats should be great! Certainly made to handle it but you will likely have to tighten the truss rod a bit. Good luck!

Why would the plating be worn off the lower side of the pick guard like that? Seems odd.

Its not worn it is the tone knob hiding the end of the pickguard due to the camera angle @@L4sleeko
