You can be good with each playstyle, there is no better/worse, just look how you want to play :) Hovering will also be a bit hsrder to learn at first.
I can think of a disadvantage to tapping/hybrid There's another axis of motion in play, with hovering/dragging, you only move your pen forward, backward, left, and right. Add tapping and now you have to move your hand up and down to a degree, which requires more energy and can decrease stamina. Then again, im not RyuK

But then I decided... eff it, it's old anyway, and I play on a rather small size so I can just... move the spot until I kill it. But, since I started dragging, I gotta say that my aim has improved immensely in just a few months. So, I'm sticking with that now :D
I tend to hover mostly but drag for spinners. Probably just cus I suck ass but it helps make consistent circles for me
boothardt same for me boss
Imagine hovering or dragging. I use da force
I just wrap the pen with paper and secured it with a rubber band, good friction and the pen still works (make sure to take out the tip of the pen or you will damage your tablet)
me who doesnt have a tablet: cool
Now i do
Drag for streams and spinners, hover for everything else.
then again I dance a lot and draw stuff when I feel particularly bored.
hm. the Spinner is stupidly easy if you put a finger down like a needle at the playfield center and spin the pen around it while hovering.
and if you think about it, it's the way whitecat and i play. it just hasn't a catchy name afaik. i am certain it's the best style available. but try it yourself
Well I hovered first, after a break i swapped to draggin
which one do you recommend? I'm thinking of switching as well
@@tduxx Well, I cant say more than preference.
Hovering gives you greater speed, but worse control (after lots of practice not noticable anymore)
But Dragging gives you a great control and most likely better aim, but your tablet gets scratched up, youll need new nibs and if youll press too hard itll be tiring for your hand, means less stamina, but you dont have to press hard.
You can be good with each playstyle, there is no better/worse, just look how you want to play :)
Hovering will also be a bit hsrder to learn at first.
@@realTryAngle Thank you for the help! I'll keep that in mind.
i personally use both, when i do jumps i hover and just lock on the note with drag
i hover with a humongous area which i find alleviates shakiness to a degree
3:02
best part of the video ngl
9:45 finally someone i can relate to. I do the exact same thing while square jumping
I can think of a disadvantage to tapping/hybrid
There's another axis of motion in play, with hovering/dragging, you only move your pen forward, backward, left, and right. Add tapping and now you have to move your hand up and down to a degree, which requires more energy and can decrease stamina.
Then again, im not RyuK
I started hovering instinctively because I didn't want to damage my friend's tablet that I borrowed to try osu with.
im cheap so i use paper as a tablet cover, bonus is i can use different weight and textures of paper for different feel
i thought hovering was commong because i cant stand the scratching
I'm sure that it's the superior style if you consider adding a finger to help with stabilization and friction issues
4:20 i used sticky-backed plastic to make a cover, and it works the same saving a 20+ dollars right here
thanks for the video dude much love
I do both, drag when doing jumps, hover when i stream.
i watched this before i bought a tablet and was incredibly confused as to how a pen could hover yet now i play hover
I have come to a conclusion to change my playstyle every song :)
I dont have a tablet but when i came over to my friend's house and tried one for the first time, i instinctively hovered and not dragged, am i the only one?
I also hovered when I first got my tablet! Mainly because I didn't know you can turn of mouse buttons lol. I still use hover until now
I hovered first then dragged
i just use hoer because its more comfortable and whenever i try dragging i cant hit anything and its just unplayable for me
what im trying to say is just use whatever you feel is more comfy
WhiteCat is just built different
nah he is just smart and it's not rocket science to search for Solutions to reduce error due to shaking hands
I'm gonna choose a hybrid. Because I can choose dragging on parts that are better with dragging, And then I switch to hovering for parts that are better with hovering.
