I was recently the victim of a robbery on a train when a thief stole my phone as I was typing a message and ran off the train just as the doors closed. Luckily for me, the French police were able to catch him, but it never would have happened if I had seen this video before the incident. I found this video and the rest of the series very good teaching points to help travelers abroad.

Michael Barnard When I am on the metro or RER I always avoid using my phone when the doors are about to open or close... I even use my phone and hold it a certain way and also put it back into my purse when I notice suspicious pepole... I have three friends who had their phones stolen on the metro in Paris, and one in Antony, in the suburbs.
