Yoko Kanno is a mastermind, but if anyone wants to enjoy the original version as well, it's Bill Evans' Symbiosis: 2nd Movement: Largo-Adante-Maestroso-Largo, Pt. 1 & Pt. 2
man, the plagiarism on Yoko Kanno's part is heartbreaking; for years I've been admiring her work on all the different animes, but the more you dig into the tunes, the more it becomes obvious that she's been nicking stuff left and right, and this one is one of the more blatant thefts.
@@MagnussBaugis I agree, it's been interesting noticing all of the inspiration and pieces she used from other jazz musicians. It's the same thing, except in Jazz, Blues, etc you perform those pieces rather than replaying recordings of them. Anyone who's reading this, don't let it disenchant you though, I stand in defense of the use of samples. I don't use them in my music, but I find it to be a legitimate tool for making a great song because you're still creating with something that inspires you and making something that's your own just as our Jazz and Bluegrass forefathers have done for nearly a century.
