Before I knew about MLMs I was at an Air B & B with my mom and they had some mystery soap in a beautiful amber bottle. I figured out it was DoTerra by some small little label somewhere. I loved the look of it, and the SMELL, was incredible. Honestly, I really liked it! I like essential oils, for the smell, and not for any other strange “topical healing” properties. I got home from the trip and wanted to order some of the soap, and just…wasn’t able to. Wasn’t able to just order it from the website. The website kept doing weird things like asking me to bundle it and sign up for something and a subscription and all this stuff. It WOULD not let me check out just the soap. I was like “I literally just wanted to order some soap… this feeels so weird” That’s when the alarm bells went off for me and I found your content around the same time. thank god my gut was correct lol.
I love your videos Hannah, and I've watched so many now. I thought I'd heard it all, but this video had my jaw on the floor. I can't say which one angered me the most, they were all so appalling! Thanks for sharing these stories, and thanks to the people who sent them in.
If I was the one with the crochet girl, I would have screenshotted her words and sent the story to the MLM to let them know what their rep was up to. Told them it was either they take action about what was done in their name or I am sure the internet would help me spread the story as a warning not to touch the MLM in question as their reps could burn you and they refused to take action after being informed. The first time I would have impacted her paycheck, it would have been unintentional. The second time, after her stunt? Wholly intentional.
24:40 👁️👄👁️ me hearing the trigger warning as I dip my chicken nuggets in the sauce slowly wondering if I should continue or listen to the warning lmao 😂
And saying "they seem happy!" about him and the woman he proposed to in his late 20's while she was in HIGH SCHOOL?? I feel like that was so glossed over 😭😭
I remember being at church, and this one woman who I rarely talked to, but seen a lot at church at events and volunteering, came up to me and invited me to her home. I was confused, because we've spend a lot of time together in the same space, but we never really talked. I was like, "Oh, why do you want to invite me to your house?" She said that other girls will be there that are invited for a Monat product try out. She seemed like she believed in the Monat products because she said I can shop around, and if I spend money on some products and decide to be a Monat representative too, she will get a $600 bonus and so will I lol. I just said, "No thanks, I already have the hair products I like." Meanwhile, another girl from church decided to go, and she started selling Monat with the group of women from church and they became a group. They were friendly and good spiritual leaders, but I didn't want any part in their MLM. It's unfortunate because they seemed to believe they were their own business owners and wanted to share that with other people.
MLMs make me think of the magazines I used to get in elementary school to see who could sell the most items for "fund raising", and in turn you would be rewarded with free erasers and the top prize would be a pizza party. It's like they try to instill it into your minds in the youngest ages.
You really are the most precious human ever Hannah because despite that custodian committing a crime, you were still so kind & understanding towards him. I probably couldn't be as kind as you and that's on me 😅 never change xx

@@kadzo6614lol, just look at the channels. This is Hannah who mostly does anti MLM videos but sometimes does influencer insanity commentary style videos. Kiki Chanel does commentary style videos too, really entertaining.
That woman in the funeral home must have thought she was a freaking revolutionary genius for discovering this entirely untapped market. I can think of a handful of funeral huns scattered across your previous 93 videos-but i don't think any of them were thinking big picture like that 😂
Hi Hannah. I really enjoy your videos. As a Christian, I am annoyed by the story where the mother says that if oils were good enough for Jesus, then they're good enough for anyone. I'm not a theologian, and it's possible I've missed something when I've read my Bible from Genesis to Revelations twice, but I've never seen a Scripture where someone injested an oil or used it for healing. I've seen them use it to clean dirty feet, and if I remember correctly, and I could be wrong here, it was used in the hair or as perfume. It was also explained to me that the oils that were given to Jesus's parents, after his birth, were expensive and most likely helped them survive financially when they were in Egypt as they could use them to barter for other items. I went to an essential oils party once, I don't remember the name, and this was before I knew about MLMs. But the woman who hosted the party talked about how she put specific oils into capsules so she could injest them and how they were helping her go off her medications because she was getting better from her serious illness, it may have been issues related to her cancer treatment. She was in remission, not from essential oils, but she did have leftover medical problems due to the chemotherapy used to treat her cancer. But the whole pitch seemed very much like a snake oil salesman. I couldn't believe that the other women were really interested in this. I'm not the most intelligent person, but I knew it couldn't be healthy injesting these oils and that I didn't remember anyone in the Bible injesting them. So, that's just my two cents.
OMG. They must train Mary Kay to do that because just about the exact same thing happened to my daughter, who works at a funeral home. We always joke about it now, about how the clientele are 'older' women.
Monday morning and I knew I had to check for a new Hannah video! I’m back at work after a 3 week break so it’s a great way to start my day on my prep period
24:40 That's how I ended up here as well, I've never sought out anti-MLM content but I watch a lot of anti-scam content and the algorithm blessed me with this channel
17:53 I’m wondering if Brenda actually realized after the second time that what she did wasn’t okay or did she just decide that trying again to get the sale wasn’t worth getting arrested…😳 When someone is the kind of person who would try to shill MLM makeup at a funeral home, it seems unlikely that they have the self awareness and basic human decency to understand that they did something wrong.
Hey Hannah! I'm glad to catch a video so early, cause I wanna share the impact your channel had on my personal life! I'm brazillian, currently doing my masters on Marketing and Consumer Culture. Your "Influencer Insanity" series helped me IMENSELY on my "Consumerism in the Digital Era" course. I brought up and showed your videos aaaaall the time 😂 but I got an A and everything! Thank you for everything you do
It is so wild to me that I’m nearly 46 years old and I’ve NEVER ONCE been approached by an MLM person in my life. All of your videos make me extra thankful for that fact. Love your channel and I think you’re doing sky daddy’s work 😂🖤
i really didn't think these could shock me any more but the funeral and military vet pitches had my jaw on the floor. absolutely soulless behavior. thank you for sharing these stories to help inform people on how predatory and dangerous these companies are.
I don't work at a funeral home either, but I know someone who studied cosmetology to work in funeral homes, and they use this very thick makeup that is specifically created for mortitian work. They describe it as being similar to theater makeup, which is also very thick.
I had completely forgotten about MonaVe until today. What a weird feeling to have something so obscure pulled to the forefront of my brain. I think my parents and I tried this before when I was a kid. I don’t think they disliked it, but it wasn’t special enough to keep buying after the first bottle. Now I wonder how many other run-ins we’ve had with MLMs that are just waiting in the crevices of my mind to be remembered.
28:56 it’s so funny Hannah mentioned that story cause I just watched that episode this morning about the oozing ear and I immediately thought of that story before she mentioned it. It was like #85 or #86. I don’t remember
Eczema is no trivial ailment. It’s an allergy precursor. It’s often the first stop on the way to severe allergies, especially as the broken skin allows the allergens to reach the inside of your body and come in contact with your immune system. This whole process is called sensitization: at a certain threshold an allergic reaction occurs. It could be hives (awful, ask me how I know) or even anaphylaxis (potentially deadly).
Brenda SERIOUSLY?!?!?! I was mid Swedish lesson when I heard "Asking if she can use her Mary Kay products on the dearly departed!" I literally FROZE!!! My brain was like"Does not compute!!" Wow... just...
I switched to Typology after watching your videos! I am hooked. It takes me five minutes to look put together… which is perfect for my early report time to school each day. Worth the investment!!
3:45 Worse $600 was gone and the account went into overdraft. I've screwed up in the past and done that to myself. The bank takes fees for every day it's overdrawn, so it gets really bad, really quickly. I removed overdraft "protection" from my account to stop it happening again.
Story 4 is so horrible. I was so impressed to hear how the vets are so open and honest and supportive of each other and how that terrible person took advantage of them honestly broke my heart. I really hope these guys don't stop doing what they're doing because of one crappy person.
I do make my own body wash and lotion. I use essential oils for fragrance, but just a few drops, and I not only use carrier oils with them but I also use oils that are already blended with carrier oils just to make sure. I would NEVER ingest them or even come close to putting drops of oil on any sort of open wound or injury. I don't get the mind set of some people.
My Grandfather was a mortician and I’ve heard from people that he was especially skilled at using makeup to make people look as they did in life. (there were several instances where it was assumed to be closed casket but my Grandfather was talented enough to allow for open casket) Makeup used on the departed is completely different from makeup used on the living. It has to be much stronger in pigment and texture to stay on the skin. That woman from the second story was not only insensitive and rude, but also completely ignorant. Anyone in the funeral business would know this lady is an idiot.
This is the first video of Hanna’s I’ve heard mention Stapin’ up! That company makes my work life a living hell, so much of their products get donated, down to the plastic boxes the stamps come in 😭
That crochet hat story really got me fired up, too! I crochet and know how much time and effort goes into making one hat, let alone multiple. That woman was beyond emotionally immature/petty for tricking her. She was psychotic. smh
That first story, while I've never had that kind of encounter for money (I also don't leave my checkbook anywhere), I have had people steal from my desk. I was the one that would have a sealed bin of candy and there was a rat issue once that resulted in me leaving my sealed container of candy in the unlockable overhead bin instead of my drawers that I could lock. I worked in accounting, so all my drawers locked to ensure security. The third-party cleaning crew that were hired were literally stealing the candy meant for my co-workers or letting the kids they allowed to come to take it and also play with anything that looked like a toy on everyone's desks.
Something you said here (at 30:57) really struck me. The reliance on the MLM and their products requires "faith." So they overlook the obvious relying on their "faith." It's really so deranged but so many people are duped. 😢
As a therapist who works with ex MLM/ cults recovery clients, having a platform where people can share their story is so healing. Thank you for your content Hannah ❤
The 4th story of the hun preying on single vets trying to get to their struggling friends is absolutely vile, hope the few hundred bucks were worth her dignity and humanity.
I don't usually comment, but I need to hop on here to say that I really appreciate these videos. So important to have a platform like this where people can share their stories. I just love Hannah's channel overall ❤ I've been binging Hannah's older videos too lately, so comforting and informative
If I ever run into an amway hun I have an absurd list of products I want them to show me for cheaper than I can buy from niche hobby and gardening stores.
The Mary Kay hun “Brenda” is something else. Read the room! Why would you think it was okay to burst in and interrupt anything at a funeral home for any reason?
I was, unfortunately, in MonaVe. It was $165 plus tax and shipping for a box of four bottles, which they claimed was a month’s worth, yet also claimed one bottle lasted exactly one week, so that math doesn’t quite math for most months. That price was for the original and two other options, but the “heart health” one was $20 more expensive. They also ended up coming out with health powder packs and energy drinks, all of which tasted disgusting. They also signed you up for auto ship, when you made your initial purchase. Looking back, was such a nasty cult!! I’m glad I made it out relatively unscathed (despite spending several hundred dollars a month on worthless products for 3.5 years, while barely able to afford rent and food).
Literally just opened UA-cam specifically to check for new Hannah videos and this is the first thumbnail I see. Thank you, universe. Sometimes you just get it right
Wow that mary kay rep couldn't read the room if there was a neon sign with the mood on it. There is also a special type of makeup formulated specifically for the deceased because the skin behaves differently and requires different things so her garbage more than likely wouldn't have been helpful anyways.
When i was a teen, my dad dabbled in an MLM that sold various Aloe Vera products, so for a while everything in our house was with Aloe: deodorants, shower gels, cremes, makeup, heck even ceratin beverages. For weeks I had these red areas under my armpits, and oh well, turns out I'm allergic to Aloe lol
I'm clearly in too bad of a mood to even enjoy this newest upload because I want to rage at so many of these people.... I'll come back when I'm feeling better 😅
wth was the essential oils in Tampon situation!! Absolutely mind-boggling that these kinds of people exist. Also, the makeup in a WAKE of all places was nuts. How?!! Thanks for bringing these stories to light.
Dude in the first story is a straight up predator. I strongly dislike people like that and would just love to have (what we from my little southern town call) a word of prayer with all of them that do this.
After taking a body intolerance test, I was finally motivated to try typology. Not everything they recommended, but a few things including the tinted serum. It may actually save me some money in the long run combining many products in one. It will simplify my routine and hopefully get my skin back to what it used to be before it became SO sensitive. I am hopeful now that I know what's causing my issues and what to avoid. I would have never heard of them if not for you! Thank you!

That’s exactly what I said!! 😆
It was the first thing I saw when I opened the app and I was like, welllp my ears are booked for the next 2 hours!
I have watched every single episode of MLM horror stories and I've got the say, this one wins the audible gasp award.
I was like “I literally just wanted to order some soap… this feeels so weird”
That’s when the alarm bells went off for me and I found your content around the same time. thank god my gut was correct lol.
I love how you’re thoughtful and not snarky and angry. Thanks for these videos, Hannah!
Omg what? That first story, a 22 year old asking a 16 year old out? That’s insane
Right?! Predator
I was like, "Oh, why do you want to invite me to your house?"
She said that other girls will be there that are invited for a Monat product try out. She seemed like she believed in the Monat products because she said I can shop around, and if I spend money on some products and decide to be a Monat representative too, she will get a $600 bonus and so will I lol. I just said, "No thanks, I already have the hair products I like."
Meanwhile, another girl from church decided to go, and she started selling Monat with the group of women from church and they became a group.
It's like they try to instill it into your minds in the youngest ages.
ur so nice to listen to, thank you for bringing logic back to the internet!
Had someone barged in on my family during that horrific grief to sell make up, I think they'd have to make room in the fridge for Brenda 😵💫😵💫
🤣🤣🤣😅
You really are the most precious human ever Hannah because despite that custodian committing a crime, you were still so kind & understanding towards him. I probably couldn't be as kind as you and that's on me 😅 never change xx
24:14 I’m only at this point of the video, but I can’t tell which is worse. The funeral home story or the veteran story. Both equally disgusting 😩
Story 4 made me cry. As a yoga teacher, MLMs love to infiltrate our world as we cater to the very vulnerable. It's absolutely infuriating.
You and Kiki always come out with a video at the same time and I never know who to watch first! Usually end up watching you first haha. Love you both! xo
Who is this and who is Kiki? UA-cam recommended this, I have no idea why
17:53 I’m wondering if Brenda actually realized after the second time that what she did wasn’t okay or did she just decide that trying again to get the sale wasn’t worth getting arrested…😳
When someone is the kind of person who would try to shill MLM makeup at a funeral home, it seems unlikely that they have the self awareness and basic human decency to understand that they did something wrong.
Dotera sounds like datura which is a very strong deliriant that gives people nightmare trips. Ive had MRSA and its extremely painful.
Thank you for everything you do
"Some people just suck." Well said, Hannah!
Utterly horrifying
So glad I opened UA-cam when I did. I needed something good to listen to while cleaning
Story 3: I've never worked in a funeral home, but I'd be surprised if they used makeup designed for everyday wear.
I don't work at a funeral home either, but I know someone who studied cosmetology to work in funeral homes, and they use this very thick makeup that is specifically created for mortitian work. They describe it as being similar to theater makeup, which is also very thick.
@@ZimVader-0017It's usually water activated cake makeup in my country.
Your voice is so calming to me
I had completely forgotten about MonaVe until today.
For anyone wondering, the other story about the girl with the staf infection on the ear is in horror stories 83.
Everybody say, I LOVE YOU HANNAH!!!
Hannah really knows when to post. I’ve been groggy all weekend and a new video is gonna set my day right 🙏🙏
Eczema is no trivial ailment.
My brain was like"Does not compute!!"
Wow... just...
I switched to Typology after watching your videos! I am hooked. It takes me five minutes to look put together… which is perfect for my early report time to school each day. Worth the investment!!
Helpful tip for those changing names that may not know. Control+H then search name you want to swap and then type what you want it swiped with.
The story at the funeral home is infuriating! That woman clearly could not read a room.
I was pitched an MLM while waiting during jury duty……it’s not like you can leave😂😂 it was so wrong
3:45 Worse $600 was gone and the account went into overdraft.
I've screwed up in the past and done that to myself. The bank takes fees for every day it's overdrawn, so it gets really bad, really quickly.
I removed overdraft "protection" from my account to stop it happening again.
Thank you Hannah's Dad for once again picking some absolute banger stories.
That company makes my work life a living hell, so much of their products get donated, down to the plastic boxes the stamps come in 😭
just saw you and kiki chanel uploaded at the same time.. keeping us well fed!
I’ve watched many many of these horror videos but each time I am shocked at the disgusting steps these Huns take. Wow just wow.
Me - Making food in the other room
Hannah - WARNING GROSS THINGS ENSUE hahaha
what perfect timing
i had JUST finished eating dinner when i got to that part 😆
Something you said here (at 30:57) really struck me. The reliance on the MLM and their products requires "faith." So they overlook the obvious relying on their "faith." It's really so deranged but so many people are duped. 😢
Yay! I missed these so much! The last one was like 2 months ago and the one before that like 5 months ago. I'm so happy! Happy Monday 💙
As a therapist who works with ex MLM/ cults recovery clients, having a platform where people can share their story is so healing. Thank you for your content Hannah ❤
I love these horror stories videos! I appreciate those brave enough to share them. ❤❤❤
The way I gasped at the Younique story!
I got a random hey hun text from an MK rep i haven't dealt with in 10 years today... 10 minutes later a Hannah video drops. Perfect timing. Hahaha 😂
Yay, I love this series so much!! I love listening to you talk like a podcast while I do chores or settle down to sleep 🥰
I love that you're back! I love listening to you while I'm working !
Forever Living I think? Does it have an eagle at the logo?
HANNAH!! Your new photo is so beautiful! It’s giving QUEEN!!
I couldn’t click fast enough! ❤ you Hannah!
Same hahahahaha
I'm clearly in too bad of a mood to even enjoy this newest upload because I want to rage at so many of these people.... I'll come back when I'm feeling better 😅
wth was the essential oils in Tampon situation!! Absolutely mind-boggling that these kinds of people exist. Also, the makeup in a WAKE of all places was nuts. How?!! Thanks for bringing these stories to light.
The second story- SHE DIDN'T EVEN SIGN UP TO BE A PART OF HER DOWNLINE! Her friend fraudulently signed her up!
Dude in the first story is a straight up predator. I strongly dislike people like that and would just love to have (what we from my little southern town call) a word of prayer with all of them that do this.
This is one of the more enraging videos you’ve done. I kept having to pick my jaw off of the floor. The audacity of these huns!
Thanks for another shocking, crazy story video by your viewers.
The ones about open woulds & internal insertion are downright horrifying.
Thank you!
Ahhh new videos from Hannah AND Kiki today, wooo! 🎉❤
Biggest fan of your Influencer Insanity series, it’s how I discovered you !! I like these MLM ones too, I’m 24 and I’ve never had the displeasure of experiencing any of these MLM’s but I feel prepared to identify and handle the situation if it does occur. Thanks for informing and spreading awareness!
