The main difference between Seema and Samantha that the writers didn't bring out (and that's unfortunate) is that Samantha is a very kind and considerate person. For example, she helped the Nun get a doctor's appointment, offered to babysit for Miranda, and showed true empathy for their loved ones on many occasions. Seema is interesting as a character, but she lacks this empathy that makes Samantha unique. Samantha has had her "rude" moments like lying to Lucy Liu about the Birkin, cheating on Smith and causing multiple public scandals in Abu Dhabi in the second movie.
I just roll my eyes at the whole Carrie’s “two great loves” thing, both of those relationships were super dysfunctional, seema probably could’ve had 100 Bigs and Aidans but just chose not to settle.

Please don't compare "Che"( I hate that nickname too) to Samantha... For a character that is supposed to be a famous stand-up has not told one funny joke... Even once. Samantha was funny on every episode, practically every scene, she would make at least one funny comment❤ The show (AJLT) is not even a comedy like the original SATC.
The new characters feel forced in at this point, like we haven't had any scenes or moments like we did with Sam that made the friendship real and the characters relateable. Like Anthony and Lisa are Charlotte's friends, Che and Seema are Carrie's friends (though Che dated Miranda). I think Sema could have filled that void if they had plugged her more organically and made her friendship with Carrie and then the other girls seem real. Like imagine a Sema who was widowed young and has now been living the single life for a long time now despite how many people push her to tie the knot again. So you could have Carrie bonding with someone who can understand her loss where Miranda and Charlotte can't. And then add scenes where the other two girls meet and bond with Sema too in their own way. It would also make Sema's issue with Carrie moving on with Aiden more understandable because Sema thought that her and Carrie were content with being single and independent. So she is afraid that now Carrie is moving on in a serious relationship she won't want Sema anymore, to remind her of not finding someone or something etc.
I was stunned when Big was killed! His alleged attacks had no physical evidence and were 30+ years ago! After that length of time it is not how can anything be proven? The victim should report a crime. If nothing was done about it at least there is something to establish that it happened. He got a raw deal!
I like Seema, I think she's the closest to Samantha energy-wise, but she's not a copy of her. She has her own interesting struggles, she seems to be conflicted if she wants a relationship or not, and she even has some deeply rooted confidence issues even though she appears very confident on the outside. I'd say she's a pretty well written character and she seems to fit SATC world very well.
You just can’t even replace her. I’m so happy she’s making a appearance next episode and I’ll skip to her few minutes just to see it before anything else!
I’d like to know what happened to the “comedy” in the original series SATC it has some truly classic comedy gold, moments. Just Like That, truly lacks comedy. Even though one of the characters is a comedian!
Che's comedy sets are like watching TedX. When they were watching them back in the recent episode, I was wondering if the show was acknowledging that what they were doing was NOT comedy.
the ones BY the alleged comedian are the worst parts! I was hoping that in the second season, as their character is getting more screen time and becoming deeper, their standup will improve, but that Miranda bit in the last episode is just horrible. I don't think it's relevant in comedy in 2023 to shit over your ex, it's outdated and simply not funny. And then to show it as "being unapologetically themselves" - come on
Is it just me or Che doesnt feel like a non-binary queer character?, from the 1st moment the character came accross more of a macho-lesbian trying too hard that exploited the label for woke points to me. Like a fake persona that doesnt feel real, in fact the whole "progresive woke" theme feels synthetic like the showrunners pulled qualities out of a box of queerness and stomp them on a few characters and called it a day to keep up with todays trend rather than build a character that feels natural. I love Samantha she was the real👸🏼of the show and no matter what you just cant replace a spark that bright
There will never be another Samantha Jones. They tried it with the young Carrie and that actress did her best but still couldn’t beat the original. Big mistake treating Kim the way they did. She literally “Carried” that show.
the storyline was dumb, but yes he should have just filled the void vs 3 different females. i love Lisa, the other two I can't keep straight of which is which.
SATC: Samantha in her 50s navigating her love life AJLT: Women in their 50s navigating their love life We lack 60-70+ women (which would be Samantha in AJLT), and when they appear they are written off as comic-relief grandmas with prothetic teeth who sleep with he same guy because there's no other action left to life anymore. And Carrie is like: no, I don't belong there yet! Where as Samantha would actually be this exact age. So we didn't get a huge part of the story. I guess because no-one has any Idea about women love life in 60-70 because no-one cared to ever ask? Or are they really grandmas sleeping with the same guy? Ok, but I want to see more depth to it!
I loved Seema the moment she told Carrie off to her bitchface. Carrie's 'offhand' and supposedly innocuous comment was so uncalled for and it was SO Carrie. She's always the worst friend in the group. Not as strong as Samantha's "I will not be judged" speech but it was so good, I love that for her.
instead of creating a new Samantha (impossible), creators should spend a bit of time and effort and help the person who writes Che's standup. That is not only mediocre, that's painful to watch
Am I the only one who feels like Seema is incredibly bland and has no real personality, besides being salty? Samantha and Charlotte and their contrasting views were the only thing that made the show watchable for me. I feel like I'm watching a Netflix original version of Sex and the City with the new show.
None of them: Anthony is classless and annoying. Samantha was blunt but she always make an effort to add some kind of elegance & was genuinely funny, it wasn’t just dicks and boobs humour. Che: they’re highly unlike me and absolutely terrible & never there for friends. Plus Samantha wasn’t that PC obsessed. 4:30 Che is universally hated, who’s paying you a cheque? Lisa: totally unlike Samantha, more like a second Charlotte. Seema: probably the closet & I love her but she’s not Samantha. She has a very different way about her. There is a vulnerability there in a way Samantha didn’t have. (She had some but not in same way)
Wouldn't say so, I like Che. I think a great deal of internalized misogyny played a part in hating on Che. Let's face it, if Miranda had been single, people wouldn't have been up in arms about this. But it's because Miranda left Steve for Che, and people want to hate on Miranda for leaving Steve, they blame Che.
@@samf.s.7731omg please stop using woke made up terms. Che was completely narcissistic and entitled, just like your average “non binary” (the new emo/punk/hippie aka a political identity) Che claims that “they” don’t “care about the binary or what people think” then had a very typical entitled female meltdown over the reactions from the test audience to the sitcom! If saying that and wanting Che to be accountable for bad behavior makes me have some sort of “internal misogyny” then I’m a proud misogynist! 😂 🤷♀️ SATC’s audience is extremely open minded, and was before it was cool. Where were all these woke non binary types back when people actually had something to loose for being different. NO WHERE! Do you need a safe space?
@@samf.s.7731 I’d strongly disagree. It’s because Che only cares about Che. They spend more of the turning every conversation into a virtue singling thought piece or an over the top vulgar joke instead of just present with the people around them and being human. Also they treat Miranda horribly. I actually hated Steve because he was loaded with inverted snobbery & self pity. Remember when Samantha dated that women in original SATC, yes she had issues but someone like that could’ve been fun to loosen Miranda up and show her sensuality & acceptance. Che just wanted Miranda to be a dancing monkey. Also, granted it’s a child character but Rok shows how a non-binary person can be normal everyday people. Che is like something your right uncle Jimmy thinks of when they think of a gender-queer person. Someone with nothing to talk about but telling everyone else why they’re terrible & sitting around waiting to chastise people. For Miranda, who before her bumbling fool re-launch on this show was pretty socially aware, if they wanted to go down a NB or trans route, they should picked someone smart & on her league. It’s not Che, at least not for original edition Miranda.
i love seema too and i love that she is vulnerable unlike samantha who tries to hide that. amongst the new characters-I love seema the most but she is just no samantha.
Enjoyed Sarita Choudhary in the '90s in Mississippi Masala with Denzel Washington (dir: Mira Nair) and Kama Sutra with Naveen Andrews (LOST) and Indira Verma (GoT). I think she's been in some British properties since then. Glad to see her second innings stateside as Seema in AJLT, especially as the similar- to- Samantha character.
I love Seema and Anthony and I like all the new additions. I hope Sam Jones will show up once in a while. Seema can just be Seema. She doesn’t need to be Samantha.
I cannot stand Seema, but when they go hard on the Samantha vibes with her it’s painful to watch show some respect, Seema is an ugly character very linear Samantha was is fabulous they should have tried harder to get her back
*Here are my top replacements* : -Margot Robbie -Lesley Jones -Jada Pinkett Smith -Russel Crow -Some drunk, privelaged hedonist who now identifies as a victim.
Please stop replacing her with these "NEW SAMANTHAS". Nobody wants this and only Kim Cattrall can be the ONLY Samantha. It's bad enough that they killed BIG and now Carrie's saying he's a mistake. So, the whole 6 seasons was a big waste of time?! Finding her one true love? Why change the story? What's the point? Why not let Aiden live his happily ever after without Carrie and he found it with another woman? It's like they try to make people come back just to show that they have a relationship with Carrie or the other girls. It's fine if they don't talk anymore.
Lol only episode I will be watching...hopefully it goes so well for everyone Cattrall is willing to come back even if for an episode or two next season.
It took a great deal of effort to bring her back for this one. People at HBO being surprised that she's so popular caught me off guard. Did they watch the same show we watched?
I love Seema, love the actress too. She brought some of the Samantha energy that everyone likes. she doesn’t need to be an exact copy of Samantha. She’s my favorite character in AJLT, I wish they could have given her more screen time. Also, I’m happy that Charlotte is still married and happy unlike Miranda who was absolutely screwed by the screenwriters.
I guess Seema comes the closest. Wonder how the Indians react to her sexual character since it's very frowned upon in that culture. Also i can't believe they'll be making a 3rd season of this tired show. Stick with the reruns of the original shows I'd say! Ps. Killing Mr. Big in the first season was a HUGE mistake!!
Seema was not so likable to me so far. I would like to see her character more in dept with all up and downs. But for now, her character feels very superficial on my side.
Sam is Sam... no one is close to Sam ... I think they try for Seeme to be the closest to Sam, but I just dont see her natural... there is something missing that you know it is not an original charactee but a wanna be copy of Sam
The original 4 are irreplaceable.. the original sex and the city series & the first movie are iconic & their friendship with one another is a beautiful thing that we got to watch play out. They showed us four totally different friends who just seemed to click amazingly no matter how different they were & I also think the fact that the original four were so different was a good thing because they complimented each other and grounded each other. And how dare anyone disrespect The beautiful legendary iconic amazing classy wonderful actress that is named Kim Catrall, she could NEVER EVER BE REPLACED .. there is only one Samantha Jones & that is the one and only Kim Catrall. She carried that show! And I don’t think that it should keep being drug out , let a good thing go down in history as legendary and not ruin it with these spin offs. Sex and the city will always be one of the greatest shows of all time. Beautifully written, beautiful acting and a mixture of comedy, along with sadness, and friendship & loyalty to one another. I love love love sex and the city original series and the first movie was amazing a lot of people didn’t like the second movie and I thought it was alright and if you thought the second movie was bad and you disliked it - remember that we atleast got to see Kim Catrall carry out her legendary role as Samantha one last iconic time.
Kim said the phone call was if for her and she’s basically show with the franchise after that, so I do not think your prediction that she’ll be featured more in future will hold
I totally relate to Seema. As many women nowadays, I wan´t a partner, but I don´t need a partner. We have standards (and we try to meet standards) and it´s ok.
i love Seema, is one of my favorite now we lost MIRANDA! yeah, of course Sam is missing but the worst part of this reboot is turn on my tv and see what's left of the best character ever writed.
It's interesting rhat Che is not a fully formed character both on the show and their show within the show. I hope they develop Che's character more. Seema is okay, I just don't care for Lisa (is that her name?😂)
Loved to see Samantha on this show. Samantha still very beautiful and sazzy. It is hard to get used to the new characters. Hope they get more interesting. Aidan, won't stay, he is too busy for this show. That's too bad. Love Steve charather, but wish he had a more interesting role.
Not my Seema - there’s only one Seema I’ll ever cherish, Seema from Mumbai 🤣 Jk, I like this Seema waaaay better than Seema from Mumbai. Seema from Mumbai might pass out seeing her 😜
The new characters are completely forgettable. I still sometimes think Nya and Lisa are the same person. Seema acts 20, not sure why, and Che is just disgusting.
Seema is no Sam, Seema is boring and uninteresting! They need to get back to the core four and drop these dead weight Samantha fillers and third tear second stringers.
In most cultures if you are penetrated you are no longer viewed as a man socially. Man is a social category that has expectations. (Away group) You are a “non man” and stay with the women and children. (Home group) Post gay movement homosexuals want us to believe that gay men are just like any other man but that’s absolutely not how society views them. Why do you think women love to call men gay as an insult or why me and my female coworkers breathe a sigh of relief when we find out that a new employee is gay. Because we view him differently then a real man. The gay community can deny this but look at the obsession they have with masculinity. “no fems” etc “masc only” “straight acting” aka most gay men want someone who pretends to be like a real man behavior wise.
Here's my pitch. Murray Bartlett played a gay friend of Carrie's in the original series (All That Glitters). Bring him back, getting in the friend group. Mario Cantone is a funny comedian, but not an actor that is good at portraying depth. Bartlett could be a natural replacement for Samantha, as he is able to be funny and bring pathos at the same time.
In my opinion, more characters now openly express their own s*xuality better than it was depicted with Samantha. During those times, portraying free sexuality was controversial, but today, it's much more interesting to see different couples and how they express their s*xuality. I can't imagine how to incorporate such a variety of relationships as seen in 'And just Like That' into a single character.
I miss even when they wearing expensive fashion, they still go to regular restaurant with noisy crowd or crapy menu. now is all high fashion place, completely off the ground it seem.

The foursome is not replaceable! Loved that show!
SATC had smart humor. AJLT is toilet humor.
And the “comedian” is by far the least funny character 🙄
@@TrulyMademoizelle Agree. The stand up performances by Che are so dirty and vulgar
And then to show it as "being unapologetically themselves" - come on
Che STILL isn’t loved and is nothing like Samantha. She’s mean and narcissistic, which Samantha was not.
I would say Seema is the one who can bring the Samantha touch back to the show .. !! I like her on the show ..
The only person needed replacement is Carrie 😜
Che is toxic AF!
There will never be another Samantha Jones. They tried it with the young Carrie and that actress did her best but still couldn’t beat the original. Big mistake treating Kim the way they did. She literally “Carried” that show.
I'm happy that Anthony got more time on the series as well as his own storyline.
the storyline was dumb, but yes he should have just filled the void vs 3 different females. i love Lisa, the other two I can't keep straight of which is which.
I love the storyline!
SATC: Samantha in her 50s navigating her love life
AJLT: Women in their 50s navigating their love life
We lack 60-70+ women (which would be Samantha in AJLT), and when they appear they are written off as comic-relief grandmas with prothetic teeth who sleep with he same guy because there's no other action left to life anymore.
Che replacing Samantha is so ridiculous it’s not even funny
no one can replace Samantha!
I miss how this channel used to be
Same
It’s gone WOKE AF 😂
Time for a Samantha Jones spin off:
yes!
Because some one in particular Is upset the star of the show may not have been them as they thought...
Excellent video as always but one correction: Samantha did "settle down" but didn't marry Smith.
I'm glad people are pointing this out. I was like, "How did I miss that they got married??"
I finally liked the last two episodes :), and Seema is my favorite of the new characters.
“Fill a Samantha sized hole”…… 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
“Unlike Samantha, Che wasn’t initially loved by fans”, have they been yet!?
Am I the only one who feels like Seema is incredibly bland and has no real personality, besides being salty?
Samantha and Charlotte and their contrasting views were the only thing that made the show watchable for me.
I feel like I'm watching a Netflix original version of Sex and the City with the new show.
Seema seems very uptight and prissy
None of them:
Anthony is classless and annoying.
@@samf.s.7731You love toxic bitches? wtf
Samantha never got married… She and Smith were just in a long term relationship
Enjoyed Sarita Choudhary in the '90s in Mississippi Masala with Denzel Washington (dir: Mira Nair) and Kama Sutra with Naveen Andrews (LOST) and Indira Verma (GoT). I think she's been in some British properties since then. Glad to see her second innings stateside as Seema in AJLT, especially as the similar- to- Samantha character.
Oh, wow! I didn't realize that was her. We watched that for our Asian film class.
Same
She also made a brief appearance as Carrie's friend in "Divorce'.
She was also in 'Homeland'.
Samantha is coming back for a single scene? Sounds like something Samantha would do
NO ONE can replace Samantha
Seema is so gauche and doesn't fit in, what they are doing is promoting rich parasites characters with no depth
I love Seema and Anthony and I like all the new additions. I hope Sam Jones will show up once in a while. Seema can just be Seema. She doesn’t need to be Samantha.
Nobody can replace Samantha
I cannot stand Seema, but when they go hard on the Samantha vibes with her it’s painful to watch show some respect, Seema is an ugly character very linear Samantha was is fabulous they should have tried harder to get her back
*Here are my top replacements* :
-Margot Robbie
-Lesley Jones
-Jada Pinkett Smith
-Russel Crow
-Some drunk, privelaged hedonist who now identifies as a victim.
We already have some drunk hedonist who identifies as a victim. Che! 😂
Yeah, like your mom
Please stop replacing her with these "NEW SAMANTHAS". Nobody wants this and only Kim Cattrall can be the ONLY Samantha. It's bad enough that they killed BIG and now Carrie's saying he's a mistake. So, the whole 6 seasons was a big waste of time?! Finding her one true love? Why change the story? What's the point? Why not let Aiden live his happily ever after without Carrie and he found it with another woman? It's like they try to make people come back just to show that they have a relationship with Carrie or the other girls. It's fine if they don't talk anymore.
I realize Seema played the Princess in the 90s film Kama Sutra along with Indira Varma who played in GOT a kinky character Ilaria Sand
Carrie 's not romantic. Maybe Charlotte could be described as such. Carrie was immature, insecure and acted like an eternal 15 y.o.
Isn't it sad that the only thing a show has going on for is a cameo? This never should have been made
The title of this video it’s offensive, there’s NO new Samantha, Samantha it’s irreplaceable
Seema is easily the new "Samantha".
Seema was not so likable to me so far. I would like to see her character more in dept with all up and downs. But for now, her character feels very superficial on my side.
Che is still a horrible character and doesn’t hold a candle to the force of nature that is Samantha!
Seema’s stunning beauty, the only positive of this appalling show
I had the feeling, that Seema was only added, so that Carrie wasn't the most annoying one on the show anymore 🤷♀️
Sam is Sam... no one is close to Sam ... I think they try for Seeme to be the closest to Sam, but I just dont see her natural... there is something missing that you know it is not an original charactee but a wanna be copy of Sam
Seema is Seema, Sam is Sam, enjoy both!
I love Seema ❤️ she is my favorite new caracter in just like that ❤️
The original 4 are irreplaceable.. the original sex and the city series & the first movie are iconic & their friendship with one another is a beautiful thing that we got to watch play out.
Actually one of the things I like about the show is that there’s no new Samantha. They knew it was impossible to replace so they didn’t tried.
What planet are you on??
Kim said the phone call was if for her and she’s basically show with the franchise after that, so I do not think your prediction that she’ll be featured more in future will hold
The only person to come close to replacing her was Anthony, and that's because is one liners r hilarious
Really? I find him so annoying
None can compare. 💅
Just try to bring back Samantha!!!!
I totally relate to Seema. As many women nowadays, I wan´t a partner, but I don´t need a partner. We have standards (and we try to meet standards) and it´s ok.
No one is the New Samantha! No one could ever be another Samantha. This show needs her desperately.
No character can fill up the void of Samantha...
Soooo 5 people cannot fill Kim’s shoes. I miss Samantha.
i love Seema, is one of my favorite now we lost MIRANDA! yeah, of course Sam is missing but the worst part of this reboot is turn on my tv and see what's left of the best character ever writed.
It's interesting rhat Che is not a fully formed character both on the show and their show within the show. I hope they develop Che's character more. Seema is okay, I just don't care for Lisa (is that her name?😂)
Samantha was never married! She was just with Smith for 5 years.
I would actually enjoy a series featuring Seema and Samantha being friends just them two
Loved to see Samantha on this show. Samantha still very beautiful and sazzy. It is hard to get used to the new characters. Hope they get more interesting. Aidan, won't stay, he is too busy for this show. That's too bad. Love Steve charather, but wish he had a more interesting role.
Not my Seema - there’s only one Seema I’ll ever cherish, Seema from Mumbai 🤣
Jk, I like this Seema waaaay better than Seema from Mumbai. Seema from Mumbai might pass out seeing her 😜
I really can't stand Seema and Che. They are nothing compared to Sam ❤
The new characters are completely forgettable. I still sometimes think Nya and Lisa are the same person. Seema acts 20, not sure why, and Che is just disgusting.
There is NO NEW Samantha. The reboot series is just awful. Acting is terrible, story lines are lame- yuck!
Seema is no Sam, Seema is boring and uninteresting! They need to get back to the core four and drop these dead weight Samantha fillers and third tear second stringers.
There is only one Samantha Jones!
However, it's very obvious the show tries to make Seema her replacement.
No one can replace the one and only Samantha Jones but I do love Seema as the new character on the show.
Anthony as Samantha replacement? I’m sorry what? He doesn’t wanna bottom because he is not the “woman”?? 1965 called and wants his gay man back
In most cultures if you are penetrated you are no longer viewed as a man socially.
Sadly NONE of them come even close to Samantha Jones!
Whenever Samantha is on, I want to keep watching but I cannot say the same for Seema.
Don't even try to make Che the new woke Samantha. Not going to happen
The nudity carried by Sam cannot be topped. She had a wonderful physique
I miss even when they wearing expensive fashion, they still go to regular restaurant with noisy crowd or crapy menu.
now is all high fashion place, completely off the ground it seem.
She was never asked to return for the reboot. So she never turned it down.
