I'm thinking about purchasing one as my daily driver. You looked like you had a lot of fun driving it, and that's the impression I get from all the review videos I see about the 2.0L.
I’m only 16 rn but in the future Im thinking about buying the 4 cylinder camero as a daily driver it has good gas mileage and and 4 cylinder are easier to maintain I even though it’s not as fast it’s ok you have to sacrifice some things💯
I will say this Joe. 2 weeks ago I went around the track with 3 different race car drivers. One was a v6 rs and the other the 4cy. The difference is noticeable but both handle great and the 0-60 times were pretty much equal. The main difference was the options and sounds. But they drive real good. And I am a mustang owner
I just bought a Riverside Blue Metallic 2019 1LS with a 6-spd manual last month and I couldn’t be happier. Drove it up from New Jersey dealership where I bought it to Massachusetts (a little over 300 miles) and managed to get 28 mpg. The V6 may have more horsepower but the turbo 4 has more torque, plus the added benefit of less weight in the front end, with the car weighing in at around 3300 pounds and some change. The 6-spd works excellent thru the torque bands and is precise for what it is. I looked at EcoBoost Mustangs and Hemi Challengers but the insurance surcharges plus the excise taxes where I live would’ve killed my budget, plus neither of those cars in my area had the colors or transmission I wanted and/or exceeded my budget (dealers in the Northeast typically don’t discount new or used). Regardless of how other people feel about it to me this is fun to drive-I think of it as an Americanized Nissan 240 SX/Silvia-one Nissan should’ve sent stateside but didn’t.
The mistake is how the car looks, fugly! Also, the drivetrain isn't even promoted, how many people know you can even get the 1LE option on ALL versions🙄 Btw, just ZONK the entire car, terrible!
Yes it doesn’t have the big HP numbers. However about 10-15 years ago that was V8 power. Just crazy how much power is coming from the small motors these days
It is crazy how much power these little guys put out that’s why after 10 years I’m really disappointed gm hasn’t given them any more power these engines are plenty capable of more
@@dantheman9395 if they wanted to be more economical these 4 cylinders can handle the v8 level of power and save gas they’re just making their cars “cheaper” as the cobalt ss launched at the similar price with the same power
The new look is nice, but the 16-18 is still my favorite with how aggressive the front looks and the taillights on this one are nicer. I'm a Chevy guy and I love Camaros, but to me a V6 is the way to go. Just as Joe said it depends on the opinion of the owner, either way I can agree it's a fun ride.
I just purchased a 2022 Camaro RS 2.0 Turbo with 6speed manual, and it's great. We need to keep this in perspective... I purchased a V6 Firebird/Camaro off the showroom floor in 2002, and that engine had 200 HP and 225 pounds of torque... This 2.0 has 275 HP, and 295 pounds of torque. I have all the power I need as a Dad getting away from the kids for a bit.
Nice video! Here in Belgium, Europe emission taxes are crazy, a V8 would cost you 5k a year on taxes alone, 10K to register. That is why I own a '16 2.0. You get the looks, decent performance and affordable for the working class. Good job Chevy
Designed for people who only want it for the name or looks. 4 banger tends to have a nice amount of torque though. Something really disturbing about those daytime running led lamps?!?!?
Hi guys, I think the 4 cylinders Camaro (and mustang as well) are designed for the European market, where roads are very very much narrower and corners are really sharp. Also, consider fuel pricing and ownership taxes... in Italy a 450 hp car costs about 7000 euros per year in ownership taxes! Yes, I know, it sounds incredible, but so it is... So in Italy for example we are really happy in having a chance of getting a Camaro that is lighter and less powerful, because it better fits our reality. Just for you to make your considerations, the 275hp Camaro costs 1000 euros per year in taxes. As you can see there is a huge difference compared to the V8!
Camaro has always been my dream car. But I have a 16 Mustang. Yesterday when I put my 50 inch tv in my trunk was the only time I was ever thankful I got the Mustang instead lol. I still want a Camaro some day though.
Not everyone wants or needs the power of the 455 HP LT1 SS or the track burning gut wretching crap in your pants scary power of the 650 HP ZL1-1LE. So yes the 275 HP turbo is a good choice at a reasonable price point for those that want a more civilized sports car while still experiencing extremely good ride and handling. And for 2019 for the first time ever you can equip the turbo 4 with the 1LE track package which means you get many of the track ready goodies that come with big brother ZL1-1LE giving it far more bite and character than the standard package. And with a 0 to 60 mph time of 5.4 seconds it's nothing to sneeze at. So bottom line is you get a lot of fun and bang for the buck with Junior while also saving some money at the pump as a daily commuter.
Michael Manjin thats what I dont understand there acting like this isn’t fast I have the same motor in my ATS and it’s fast I even beat my friends v6 mustang it’s almost 300 feet of torque and I dont want to pay insurance on a V8
As a diehard Mustang fan, and owner of a 17 5.0 and 13 3.7, I wish nothing but the best for the Camaro. I hope this helps boost their sales, with the recent news of potential discontinuation in 2023 I’m concerned for the future of Mustangs legendary direct competitor, an American icon.
I just leased the 2020 Camaro 1LT. While I wanted the ZL1, my dad (GM Car Sales manager) talked me into the 1LT. I definitely will be buying the ZL1 at the end of my 4 year lease but for being 25 and saving for a wedding and house this was the much more affordable option and has plenty of power for city dwellers.
The 2.0 turbo was introduced in 2016 when the 6th gen was introduced. And the LS3 has not been an option since the 5th gen from 2010-2015. And there is no “LS1” trim. There is an LS, 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, 1SS, 2SS, and ZL1
Raiti's Rides I really appreciate you taking the time to respond to every comment, positive or negative. It really sets you apart from every other car reviewer I watch. It’s great to see, and by the way if you could get a Mustang VS Camaro episode that would be fantastic. Either SS V GT or V6 V Ecoboost
So would I. But it's because I like the style of the Mustang better. But I also like the style of this car. If they gave me a great deal. I would buy it.
Hi James, this 6th gen Camaro on the Cadillac platform is less than 3400lbs with the I4 turbo. It can hit low 5sec 0-60 times and decent 1320 et’s. This is the best platform Camaro has ever stuck its badge. With a few mods the LTG engine is hitting over 300hp and even more torque. I realize the 4 cylinder turbo makes some folks cringe. Believe me I was there. But a Camaro with near 50/50 weight distribution and less than 3400lbs makes for a great combination.
Another mistake that they should have done is increase all the sides, from the doors and front/rear fenders to be HIGHER so that it will be in a class of its own. If they do that, then I will buy it definitely. Thanks for the video.
Is this something that the customers, via some kind of survey, said they were maybe interested in or is this one a those --throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks??? one of my neighbor drives a Camaro, or so i assume. ive never heard an engine note from that car. prolly a tesla in a camaro shell, its hella quiet, lol. It should be a crime to do this to the Camaro line lol. Thank you for taking to time to bring this one to us, @Raiti's Rides!!!!
Joe, is there a way to search your videos? I'm also wondering if you've done a review of the new Honda Accord Sport 2.0 with the manual transmission? Thanks.
Perspective from the Australian market: Camaros are sold here, converted to RHD here in Oz. However, only V8 models are offered. When the 2015 Mustangs were sold as factory RHD in Oz, Ford Australia's initial order was for 2000 Ecoboosts and 2000 GT's. They quickly found that Oz buyers weren't interested in the T4, and waiting lists ballooned for the GT while T4's remained unsold. I don't know about the USA market, but here in Oz, muscle cars have to have a V8 to have any chance of selling in decent numbers.
The mistake, they should have made it an inline six turbo charged or, put an ats-v twin turbo engine mated instead. Those n/a v8 guys will catch hell trying to keep up.
I honestly like that idea. The problem is that people cry when Cadillac can't differentiate their cars from Chevy. I mean it would be awesome if Chevy put the 3.0tt and 3.6tt into the Camaro. Ford and Lincoln for some reason don't seem to get complaints about sharing engines. But when Chevy and Cadillac do, it's almost blasphemy for doing such a damning thing.
@@kcmartin22 I would too. That seems to be the trend now, they need to stop focusing on the older demographic. If they focused on the younger generation, they could possibly bring in more buyers. That and do some updates to make the car more appealing and allow better sightlines. I know after awhile you get used to it, but most only test drive it for an hour or so. Because more than likely the consumer can't adjust to the sightlines quick enough to be comfortable after an hour.
Times have changed, and with that goes the demand for different more efficient Engines.A fourbanger is absolutely alright today. But the V8 never goes out of style. Thanks for the vid from Sweden.
I live in germany and GM sells only 2.0 Turbo and v8 camaros over here and right now i decided to go with a turbo camaro and so far i can tell you its an amazing ride. Would i prefer the v8 over a turbo? Well honestly sure but it costs alot more for 'just' the sound since you (or i) can very rarely use the power the v8 can provide. As a daily driver owning the full spec camaro i can tell you its a blessing. No car in germany can compare to what you get for the money. Most of them lose by just looks. I would not want to own a camaro with a base trim however. Im pretty glad that, unless you count the grey imports that where crashed in usa once, GM only sells the full package camaro as both 2.0 Turbo and v8.
This would have worked really well in the late 2000's during the gas crisis. I don't see anything wrong with it besides it not being a true V8 muscle car. I'm sure die hard American muscle fans are gonna hate it. Would be a really good track Camaro.
Fun daily commute, good fuel economy, with a large aftermarket to test and tune. 2019 is not the first year of the 2.0 turbo. I park the V8 during the work week and drive the 4 banger to work daily, 38k miles with zero mechanical issues and it the 2.0 turbo is a suprisingly fun daily driver. Cost per mile of commute is where the 2.0t shines.
As European, I have only two options - this turbo or 6.2, 3.6 is not available and as 6.2 is out of my budget, I went for 2.0 Turbo. The pickup date should be this Tuesday, so looking forward to it. I think 2.0 Camaro has its place on the market, especially in Europe.
No Camaro should have a 4 cylinder. I think they do that just to sell more to those who can’t afford the higher priced models. Not a fan of any Camaro today. You still get 👍🏻👍🏻though. 😎🇺🇸
The Camaro could've been so much better. Whoever is running Chevrolet needs to get with it. GM is definitely not the company they once were. That's why Mazda's getting my business these days.😉
@@gregholman2930 Exactly. It's really sad. America can't keep up with the imports. I've got real leather on my Mazda for $2000.00 less than this Camaro! Now that I've had leather, I'll never go back.
Another amazing video from my guy Joe! I've never been a fan of the front fascia of the Camaro but it looks simply beautiful on this trim. The interior in my opinion is in the top 5 best looking designs for a sports car. I do not like the location of the vents nor do I favor the lack of visibility of windshield but I like this interior over the mustang. The price seems strange for a car with horse power no where near 300. I guess it's worth it but it seems like people are paying more for the name than anything else. Any who love the design but I would only get it if it was cheaper.
That engine has more real power than the majority of the V8s in the 60's Camaros. All those numbers were gross HP/Torque now it is net numbers. Still can't beat a V8.
You can definitely tell that you are not a fan of Camaros lol But the more I see the v6s in person, the more I get a Pontiac feel from them. Aaaaaand that's not bad!
Have always liked the Camaro..had a 81 and loved it...it had a V8. I like the new ones and agree the wheels on this one are boring...would like either a darker gun metal look or chrome. The only thing I don't like is the interiors but I do have to say they have improved them from the last generation. As always great job!
When I think of any engine being turbo charged and super charged means more money to pay when it starts having problems 😤 I still feel the Challenger is the most muscle looking muscle car even tho it’s been unchanged for years
I love my RT Challenger. But the problem Dodge has is that it looks like a 70s era muscle car. If you change it, you will no longer have that old school look.
@@TheAow4321, perhaps, but the weight is a problem. I have a Camaro SS now, but before I bought I rented both a V6 Challenger and V6 Camaro, both base model obviously. The Camaro surprised me at how comfortable it was on a twisty road. The Challenger just felt like a heavy car that would prefer going in straight lines, so I couldn't consider it. I don't doubt better suspension helps, but it will always carry those extra pounds.
1:32 - Q: is Chevrolet watering it down too much by offering an engine that puts out 275 hp? A: nope, we forget that's roughly 100 hp MORE than what the V8 in the Iroc Z made in the late 80's, and everybody and they're nana was crazy about that particular Camaro.
I read today that Chevrolet only has plans to keep this 7th gen Camaro through 2023 , and then will cancel the platform entirely. So get the ZL1 soon, unless you would rather have the Cobra 500. Or even the 350. Lots of other great choices to be had.
@@RaitisRides if you could just see out of the Camaro, and maybe put luggage or groceries in the trunk, and maybe fit passengers in the rear seat? Something small yet fast to go up against the Demons and Shelby's. Chevy just can't seem to get it right.
i have the choice between this spec Camaro brand new and a used nicer spec Ecoboost mustang or challenger sxt. any recommendation on which I should get?
At Denver altitude combined with weight difference, lbs/hp is nearly a wash between the 2.0 and 3.6L V6. That's why I considered the 2.0T given the price difference and the slightly better gas mileage and future tuning options. Both engines have to be revved to get horsepower out of them. I wonder if they'll try a 2.7L variant from the truck line. Right now it appears the 2.0L is dead for the 2024 model year.
I think that a significant production of v12 engines can reduce the cost of production of engines in general based on the principle of redistribution of work mentioned by Adam Smith, it also increses the job offer
Chevrolet's offered a 4-cylinder in the first year or 2 of the 3rd gen Camaro. Funny thing is this 4-cylinder has more power than the z28 did in the first 3 generation and almost as much as the 4th
Was hoping GM would have made a Cruze based coupe where the 2.0 turbo would have been a great addition. But GM in my opinion, made a mistake in trying to make the Camaro an all in one sports coupe when its really not.
This would be my choice if I were to get the Camaro. Combine economic gas mileage and weight distribution but get that muscle car look. I used to own a '96ss but this has plenty power for regular street use. Don't see the need for 455 hp unless you plan to go track days regularly. May look into 1le package for some extra handling goodies and nicer rims.
Raiti's Rides no prob Joe. While stuck at home I’ve discovered all these cool channels. Particularly like the sports and muscle car reviews. Keep it up and stay safe!
I'm sorry Chevy should have stayed with the V6. The only ones I can see owning a 4 cylinder Camaro are New drivers who want the look of a sports car without the horse power.
Just bought a 'brilliant' red. I love it! More than enough power for daily use. 30+ mpgs is awesome for the amount of fun the 2019 brings.

Raiti's Rides lol probably, I just don’t think the difference is significant if you’re trying to choose one over the other. Love both cars though
I'm thinking about purchasing one as my daily driver. You looked like you had a lot of fun driving it, and that's the impression I get from all the review videos I see about the 2.0L.
It was fun!
Thanks for sharing that great insight from your experience! I really appreciate it!
Good comment where you at in Ma ? Northshore here.
Marques Dean Thanks for your experience with the 4 cyl. Does it take regular or premium fuel?
The mistake is how the car looks, fugly! Also, the drivetrain isn't even promoted, how many people know you can even get the 1LE option on ALL versions🙄 Btw, just ZONK the entire car, terrible!

It looks like a honda in the front and the body is so bulky i miss the 1969 camero. Way more stylish.
Yes it doesn’t have the big HP numbers. However about 10-15 years ago that was V8 power. Just crazy how much power is coming from the small motors these days
That is so very true Dan! Great input!
It is crazy how much power these little guys put out that’s why after 10 years I’m really disappointed gm hasn’t given them any more power these engines are plenty capable of more
@@xxxmasenxxx5564 definitely. Sadly they are trying to be more economical. Some people just want a V8 brute ✌️😎👍
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this one!
18:59 “Its not what’s under the hood, what matters is who’s behind the wheel.” It’s what Toretto said in the fast and furious movie.
Hello, how reliable is this engine?
Nice video! Here in Belgium, Europe emission taxes are crazy, a V8 would cost you 5k a year on taxes alone, 10K to register. That is why I own a '16 2.0. You get the looks, decent performance and affordable for the working class. Good job Chevy
Thanks for sharing that great info and for the compliment!
The back looks better but I really dont like the front. Theyre trying too hard.
Designed for people who only want it for the name or looks. 4 banger tends to have a nice amount of torque though. Something really disturbing about those daytime running led lamps?!?!?

Yes they did. They should make the roof profile to be even lower so that there will be less visibility. Thanks for the video.

Too funny
Thank you for sharing your input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
Camaro has always been my dream car. But I have a 16 Mustang. Yesterday when I put my 50 inch tv in my trunk was the only time I was ever thankful I got the Mustang instead lol. I still want a Camaro some day though.

@@Ray_Stark That is so very awesome of you to say!
I put a 50in in my old 5th gen with no problem. The seats do go down in the back and the trunck is deep.
I just figured since they had the V6 this doesn't make sense.

LS3 was retired for 2016 and replaced with the LT1. Also, the turbo 4 has been around since 2016.

It doesn't matter. GM is supposedly killing off the Camaro (again) by 2023. Camaro sales have completely tanked.
That is so very true!
It is terrible how the Camaro has dropped like a lead ballon!
I have this car. Mine is a manual though. I love it! The back seats actually fold down and make the trunk bigger.
That is awesone!
They made a mistake my redesigning it at all. The previous looked So much better. Especially the RS trim on up.

Just don't beat up on it take care of it and it last forever. That's for all 4 cylinder engines.

Raiti's Rides I mean how does a redesign like that go through all the higher ups at Chevrolet without anyone saying “that’s absolutely hideous”?
That front end is looking like that hideous 5th gen 10-13

A four-cylinder engine in a car that heavy is absolutely a mistake, they should keep four cylinders in lighter weight cars only.
I appreciate you sharing your input and perspective! Thank you for watching!
I think it's an attractive and impressive coupe for that price point and weight.
Thank you for sharing your input and perspective! I appreciate you watching!
Another mistake that they should have done is increase all the sides, from the doors and front/rear fenders to be HIGHER so that it will be in a class of its own. If they do that, then I will buy it definitely. Thanks for the video.

That is very intersting! Thank you for sharing that!
The mistake, they should have made it an inline six turbo charged or, put an ats-v twin turbo engine mated instead. Those n/a v8 guys will catch hell trying to keep up.
Thanks for sharing your input and perspective! I really appreciate you watching!
@@RaitisRides I really appreciate the detailed updates with your perspective. 😁
I would buy a twin turbo for sure! That's a dope idea
@@kcmartin22
I would too.

You hit the nail on the head!
Any updates on the new car ?
I am still thinking it over! To be honest I've been so busy with the channel I haven't even had time to think about it!
All I can say is that Chevy kinda messed up the front end but otherwise, the car is good
I totally agree with you!
Raiti's Rides bra sir, your almost there, 100k subs
Are those really the same wheels on the 2015 camaro
Yes they are.
This would have worked really well in the late 2000's during the gas crisis. I don't see anything wrong with it besides it not being a true V8 muscle car. I'm sure die hard American muscle fans are gonna hate it. Would be a really good track Camaro.
I totally agree with you!
After changing the body and coming out with the 6th gen, Camaro wasn't the same. That 5th gen body was more aggressive looking!
Very true!
I have those wheels on my 2015 v6 camaro. Why would they put those 4 year old wheels on it?
That is a really good question!
Why are the front lights different from other 2019 turbo camaros?
It's a base!
My dream muscle car! Awesome job Joe.
That makes sense! I appreciate you sharing that!
