    Tip: if your tank is good and doesn't leak you can access the plastic nut with a long extension through the top to remove pump and replace. On my 1980 the socket size was 7/8( edit) not 11/16. Must have used diffeernt sizes for various years.Good vid!

    To be fair, Ben, if the armchair quarterbacks had a better idea, they would have posted a UA-cam video about it. If not, they've got no business complaining about someone who did (you). You're good. This is the best video I have seen yet on getting to this PITA washer tank and pump.

    You should see an old VW Beetle screen washer it used the air in the spare tyre to push the water out. So you could clean the screen or have a reliable spare 🤷‍♂🤣🤣

    What an over complicated system!
    I spent much time getting the washer to work on my old truck.
    The motor was fine. Needed to flush the tank and the hoses. Also needed a prime in the hoses.

    Have a 2013 Ford Falcon. The washer reservoir is buried in front of the inner fender. On the reservoir, the plastic has dried out and gone brittle, so a large hole and numerous cracks occured in the reservoir. The plastic going brittle is strange, given that reservoir is out of the sunlight, and away from engine heat. It doesn't seem to be made from any higher quality plastic, than the milk jugs you buy at the supermarket.

    • @TheCorvetteBen
      @TheCorvetteBen  Рік тому +1

      Was the car in the video a 1980-1982? Because the size of the tank in 80-82 double the previous years. Also the cruise etc. is riveted into the fender, which I didn't want to have to drill out.

    in 30 years replaced it once, never again, just wax the windshield, not worth the aggravation. the heat will destroy it again and again.
