Roy you are the man, you signed my brothers copy at gencon. It was THE game we stood in line to get Day 1. Thanks for making a game that the whole family can play, AND ITS A 4X game which is wild!
Last week at Dice Tower West this game was everywhere, I think I saw more copies of Last Light being played than any other game. Great Video, hoping to get this to the table with a new group this weekend.😊
It is cool to see the designer do a learn to play and know how it was meant to play but I still love watching Rodney. Also know to know we have been playing it correctly.
Yeah Rodney is awesome! I was working for a wile to have him make one but had to pull the trigger on making it myself after so many people were requesting a how to play to be made! hopefully it helps people get Last Light to their tables even easier! - Roy
@@thedicetower after watching this I played it again with some new people and one of them back the current project on GF all in…So I would say this video helped get it to the table and people are having fun while playing for sure! Great Game Roy!
Just played this yesterday for the first time and really loved it. My biggest feedback for the rule book and this video is that the language isn't very precise in some places. I am always amazed when rulebooks don't use precise language when there are so many excellent examples of that. Just take MtG for example. With that said, it would be great to see "May" or "Must" for all actions and side effects, like research, build, move, etc. (especially move). Also, am I missing something because I couldn't find anything actually stating how many hits it takes to destroy an extractor. I would assume 1, but it still requires that I scour the whole manual just to confirm a different rule isn't mentioned elsewhere. Overall, though, it is a good manual.
Just had an epic session of Last Light and it was a total blast! My son even prefers it over Xia :) The tech card combos are incredibly fun to pull off. I really like the simultaneous action card play and how streamlined the game is. The great plastic mini ships are a nice topping on the cake. As a huge fan of intense, head-to-head battling games like Blood Rage and 4X games such as TI4 and Eclipse, this is right up my alley!
Fun story I asked Tom if I could record the how to play in the studio because so many people had asked so I came in my my day off to record the whole thing and after he let me put it on the channel!! Im super grateful cuz it will get way more eyes here! I hope it helps people get Last Light to their table even faster! 🚀
Can more than one player have an extractor on a planet? If you can who owns the planet? Got the retail version this week and just printed off some minis. Can't wait to give it a go!
Thanks can't wait to try, however one minor theme gripe. Why on earth (or in space ) would you need light before hdotu? Why would you need anything really ?
white dwarf stars last for billions of years even with only one star left you could save your species for a multitude of generations. don't be so nihilistic :P - Roy
The retail version components (I don't know about other versions) is pure trash, really the worst quality board game I ever bought, we played ONCE before sleeving the cards and some already had white spots on the back :( We really love the game tho, very pleasant to play. So sad they really cheaped out.
You can teach the game WAY faster than this but I wanted to give you guys a thorough breakdown! Thanks everyone! - Roy
Great tutorial, Roy! Thanks for a great game! :-D
You did it Roy, finally! Well done!
I mean id 100% rather watch a how-to from the creators direct.
I would love to see you do a quick 3 minute video on each Alien Species' powers and how they exactly function. Great video btw!

Hey Roy! Finally got my hands on this one despite wanting it since seeing it last year in the Dune tournament (IYKUK). Very excited to play :)

No, that's Mark Streed's gig.
Pure fun!!!!
Remember me of statcraft , 4x you know it’s gonna end with combat lol
Hey Hey, thanks Roy! Game is fun 😊
Thanks! It looks interesting.
Oh good, it seems I'm playing it right!
Thanks so much! Putting on my wish list :)
I really want this game but I’d want it even more with a solo mode! My partner has absolutely no interest in space games 😪
Excellent instruction and we're about to try your game! Paint your nails (lol)
Hello,
What resolves first/in what order when people have played command but all refresh cards are out? Regards to board and ship movement?
Thanks.

Only one per planet

Can you mine from a planet if other player ships are there?
Yes. They are only blockaded from scoring light from the refresh card, but they still mine.
Damn, i would love to back this but only in a german version.
