I'm an Australian in Victoria where most of the covid and lockdown drama seems to be taking place. What concerns me more than anything else atm is seeing how many people WANT the government to have this much control over our lives (those who post 'I Stand with Dan') as well as people's reactions to the vaccine. We don't know at this point in time whether there are any long-term risks associated with the vaccine but if you dare question it then you're far-right, anti-vaccines and a conspiracy theorist.

Here in Australia they still don't really recognise natural immunity for those who have had it. They still loose their jobs if not vaccinated. In the state of Queensland our state government have said every eligible child must be vaccinated before they will open up our boarders for Christmas! Good luck trying to get a valid medical exemption, they hardly exist. My sister has just finished chemotherapy and radiation which they had to stop the chemo early due to her immune system levels dropping too dangerously low, she is recovering from a blood clot in the lung and yet her doctors tell her to get vaccinated. She is a nurse and has lost one of her casual nursing jobs because she is not vaccinated and about to loose her second because no-one here is willing to give her a short term exemption until she is well enough to be vaccinated. She has been living in isolation for many months now and her family that live with her are all vaccinated. All the doctors live in fear. No-one is allowed to think or use their knowledge. Its so over controlled and our government leaders and state leaders are using this virus for their own political agendas. Unfortunately medicine here is now political. They flip flop with messaging. One minute they tell us don't take astra zenica, next it doesn't matter, then hey just mix up the brands take whatever you can access. Its crazy. In Queensland we don't have any community cases and yet we are still sending our kids to school in masks everyday. We still wear masks in public!

I am a pharmacist in Sydney and recently got banned from an online medical journal because my comments apparently breached their house rules. I have asked them to please explain. I didn’t say people shouldn’t get vaccinated or personally attack anyone or talk about alternative treatments. I did however ask questions and refer to studies that were concerning to me. I didn’t ever imagine I was important enough or controversial enough to be silenced.

I "live" in permanent lock down in Melbourne. My observation is that the human characteristic of being a "Psychopath", (a person suffering from chronic mental disorder with abnormal or violent social behaviour) is very common in any leadership positions - especially in politics where you don't need to be very smart or have good business acumen to get there. Take a look at the current government leaders and even their chief medical officers, they’re all psychopaths - there’s nothing normal about them.
It’s pretty much the same in the U.K. Just look at the faces, the rhetoric and who is benefiting! I’m 80 years old and have never experienced any thing like this! My wife is a RN in an emergency dept. and like hundreds in the hospital (big QLD city) she will be doing her last shift on Sunday due to the mandate. This will be a huge financial hit for us but I support her freedom of choice, and very sad for patients losing valuable skill and experience. The nurse community is full of anxiety and stress and the legal battles have begun.

@Tan S there are many more than we originally thought. It's a significant proportion of the hospital, and not just nurses, but wardies, admin, even the folks cleaning the linen. Many of the nurses that have taken the vax against their wish support us and regret having been coerced into taking it. It's going to be an interesting couple of weeks of uncertainty, but for us the battle lines have been drawn.
PS for anyone interested: The NPAQ union has been really helpful and many are following their advice. There are regulatory processes that needed to have been taken before they could issue the mandate that were not done. I won't go into the details as it may affect the legal case, but the fight is on. The movement is also growing. I understand that NPAQ membership is growing in a big way. Just as the construction workers in Melbourne have found out that their union is not willing to represent their members' concerns, many nurses have learned that their politically affiliated union won't stand for them, and so they are jumping ship. There was an online Q&A for all nurses last week in which one question in particular quoted data from VAERS. Management said they were not aware of these figures. It was an incredible shock that the people mandating this thing are not aware of the risk data (or even worse, knowingly claiming so), and were not willing to discuss it other than to make a "call to authority" and say that the TGA says it's safe. It is very disturbing when there are clear concerns and that these are not to be discussed.

Even the American CDC, which I have zero respect for, has come to their senses and will phase out the PCR test. Really, the solution is the Swedish approach. Protect the vulnerable, open everything up, then just let the virus rip through the population. Use ivermectin as early treatment. Stop treating us like babies. If you’re scared, stay home. I’m not willing to trade liberty for safety. If we trust the politicians, then It is over. I sincerely believe there is no intention in ever ending this.
@@lukek1949 Hi Luke, we use PCR testing here and run the cycle at 40x, which would definitely create a lot of false positives. This will no doubt be reduced in the future because of the vaccination levels. Governments will not want high positives amongst vaccinated people, so they are likely to follow the CDC and reduce the cycles to around 25. It is all very political.

Do you take a cancer curing drug that is experimental? Do you take the latest drug for a heart condition when there is no alternative? Risk analysis requires you to consider likelihood and consequences. If you can reduce the likelihood of infection you are reducing risk. The consequence of dying from the virus are reduced by vaccination. The risk of being vaccinated with mRNA are unknown, I agree. The risk from combined pharmaceuticals is unknown as the combination is not tested long term. The average American over 60 takes 17 pharmaceuticals per day. We live with risk every day. Do the numbers and make your choice. It’s YOUR choice and not for you to impose it on others.

You say outdoors activity is one reason Australia has less cases. However, we are only allowed to leave our home in Melbourne for 2 hours a day (about 230 days of that so far) and household spread is the major reason our virus numbers are rising according to the state govenmment. Too bad politics controls our responses to this pandemic.
Wow, that is appalling. I live in the midwest USA and we probably have far more cases of COVID than you. But since vaccination the cases of severe COVID and deaths are way down-and only among those who don't get vaccinated. We had lockdown for about 6 weeks in Spring of 2020, but have opened up for the most part since then. Restaurants are allowed 50% capacity and stores are open. We still do the facemask and social separation thing, but otherwise get around. I can't imagine 2 hours/day for 230 days! FWIW, in my opinion getting vaxxed is a personal decision, but I have gotten vaccinated and just received my third dose of Pfizer yesterday-today a low grade fever and upset tummy, that's the only side effects. I got vaccinated because I'm over 60 and in an at-risk group. Take care.

I wish that were my experience. I am the only person i know who is not yet vaccinated and who is seriously concerned about this major unknown. Thank you on excellent video concerning the Covid 19 situation in Australia. I believe our fellow aussies need a abit of cheering up. I'm from NZ and we are currently experiencing a Level 3 lockdown in Auckland with all the restrictions and hardship that goes with it. It's good to hear from someone saying that eliminating the virus with zero cases is a pipe dream. Our government is still pursuing the policy of elimination despite the fact that we are getting low cases numbers and the majority if the cases have been epidemioloically linked to existing clusters. I personally believe there is no such thing as elimination when it comes to this pandemic only mitigation . I wish our government would wake up to that fact.

I live in Melbourne and it saddens me to say this but Australia, but specifically Melbourne is now in the grip of full blown tyranny. In Australasia, we are all rushing out to get vaccinated just as we are heading into summer. Other countries have shown the virus dying down in summer. Just as we hit winter next year, our vaccine coverage will be waning. Would we have been better to wait? Does anyone have thoughts on this?
Vaccinating during a pandemic only gives rise to variants which bypass the vaccine. Given that vax side effects go up (double, I think) with every booster and boosters are coming, eventually vaccines will be too costly in terms of deaths and illness. You'll end up with a new variant you can no longer vaccinate for... and a ton of people that will be either chronically ill for life or dead from the VX and boosters.
I live in the Philippines, we have hot weather all year round, it does not stop the spread, but since the vaccine has been rolled out we have been seeing record high cases, just coincidence..?
Because it actually works, with little side effects and even those don't compare to the mRNA version. Plus then they'd fear the people would know the current program is a shitshow because it's not working like they say it does.

What concerns me more than anything else atm is seeing how many people WANT the government to have this much control over our lives (those who post 'I Stand with Dan') as well as people's reactions to the vaccine. We don't know at this point in time whether there are any long-term risks associated with the vaccine but if you dare question it then you're far-right, anti-vaccines and a conspiracy theorist.

Here in Australia they still don't really recognise natural immunity for those who have had it. They still loose their jobs if not vaccinated. In the state of Queensland our state government have said every eligible child must be vaccinated before they will open up our boarders for Christmas! My sister has just finished chemotherapy and radiation which they had to stop the chemo early due to her immune system levels dropping too dangerously low, she is recovering from a blood clot in the lung and yet her doctors tell her to get vaccinated. She is a nurse and has lost one of her casual nursing jobs because she is not vaccinated and about to loose her second because no-one here is willing to give her a short term exemption until she is well enough to be vaccinated. She has been living in isolation for many months now and her family that live with her are all vaccinated. All the doctors live in fear. No-one is allowed to think or use their knowledge. Its so over controlled and our government leaders and state leaders are using this virus for their own political agendas. Unfortunately medicine here is now political. They flip flop with messaging. One minute they tell us don't take astra zenica, next it doesn't matter, then hey just mix up the brands take whatever you can access. Its crazy. In Queensland we don't have any community cases and yet we are still sending our kids to school in masks everyday. We still wear masks in public!

I didn’t say people shouldn’t get vaccinated or personally attack anyone or talk about alternative treatments. I did however ask questions and refer to studies that were concerning to me.

I "live" in permanent lock down in Melbourne. My observation is that the human characteristic of being a "Psychopath", (a person suffering from chronic mental disorder with abnormal or violent social behaviour) is very common in any leadership positions - especially in politics where you don't need to be very smart or have good business acumen to get there. Take a look at the current government leaders and even their chief medical officers, they’re all psychopaths - there’s nothing normal about them.

My wife is a RN in an emergency dept. and like hundreds in the hospital (big QLD city) she will be doing her last shift on Sunday due to the mandate. This will be a huge financial hit for us but I support her freedom of choice, and very sad for patients losing valuable skill and experience. The nurse community is full of anxiety and stress and the legal battles have begun.

@Tan S there are many more than we originally thought. It's a significant proportion of the hospital, and not just nurses, but wardies, admin, even the folks cleaning the linen. Many of the nurses that have taken the vax against their wish support us and regret having been coerced into taking it. It's going to be an interesting couple of weeks of uncertainty, but for us the battle lines have been drawn.
PS for anyone interested:
The NPAQ union has been really helpful and many are following their advice. There are regulatory processes that needed to have been taken before they could issue the mandate that were not done. I won't go into the details as it may affect the legal case, but the fight is on.
The movement is also growing. I understand that NPAQ membership is growing in a big way. Just as the construction workers in Melbourne have found out that their union is not willing to represent their members' concerns, many nurses have learned that their politically affiliated union won't stand for them, and so they are jumping ship.
There was an online Q&A for all nurses last week in which one question in particular quoted data from VAERS. Management said they were not aware of these figures. It was an incredible shock that the people mandating this thing are not aware of the risk data (or even worse, knowingly claiming so), and were not willing to discuss it other than to make a "call to authority" and say that the TGA says it's safe. It is very disturbing when there are clear concerns and that these are not to be discussed.

Extreme lockdowns, fear mongering, politicians de-humanising and demonising citizens, nobody looking at studies and instead perpetuating falsehoods, and have to wear masks outside even when around nobody. Even the American CDC, which I have zero respect for, has come to their senses and will phase out the PCR test. Really, the solution is the Swedish approach. Protect the vulnerable, open everything up, then just let the virus rip through the population. Use ivermectin as early treatment. Stop treating us like babies. If you’re scared, stay home. I’m not willing to trade liberty for safety. If we trust the politicians, then It is over. I sincerely believe there is no intention in ever ending this.
@@lukek1949 Hi Luke, we use PCR testing here and run the cycle at 40x, which would definitely create a lot of false positives. This will no doubt be reduced in the future because of the vaccination levels. Governments will not want high positives amongst vaccinated people, so they are likely to follow the CDC and reduce the cycles to around 25. It is all very political.

I Read about a rubber bullet blinding someone...hitting him in the eye. He was about 19 years old and just going about his business, in the U.S when riots were occurring in cities a while back. It was so sad..all he was going through. Serious injuries happen frequently.

If you choose to wait 5-10 years for a technology to be proven do you use the latest mobile phone where radiation damaging cellular tissue is unproven? Do you use a driverless car? Do you take a cancer curing drug that is experimental? Do you take the latest drug for a heart condition when there is no alternative?
Risk analysis requires you to consider likelihood and consequences. If you can reduce the likelihood of infection you are reducing risk. The consequence of dying from the virus are reduced by vaccination. The risk of being vaccinated with mRNA are unknown, I agree. The risk from combined pharmaceuticals is unknown as the combination is not tested long term. The average American over 60 takes 17 pharmaceuticals per day.
We live with risk every day. Do the numbers and make your choice. It’s YOUR choice and not for you to impose it on others.

You say outdoors activity is one reason Australia has less cases. However, we are only allowed to leave our home in Melbourne for 2 hours a day (about 230 days of that so far) and household spread is the major reason our virus numbers are rising according to the state govenmment. Too bad politics controls our responses to this pandemic.
Wow, that is appalling. I live in the midwest USA and we probably have far more cases of COVID than you. But since vaccination the cases of severe COVID and deaths are way down-and only among those who don't get vaccinated. We had lockdown for about 6 weeks in Spring of 2020, but have opened up for the most part since then. Restaurants are allowed 50% capacity and stores are open. We still do the facemask and social separation thing, but otherwise get around. I can't imagine 2 hours/day for 230 days! FWIW, in my opinion getting vaxxed is a personal decision, but I have gotten vaccinated and just received my third dose of Pfizer yesterday-today a low grade fever and upset tummy, that's the only side effects. I got vaccinated because I'm over 60 and in an at-risk group. Take care.

Thank you on excellent video concerning the Covid 19 situation in Australia. I believe our fellow aussies need a abit of cheering up. I'm from NZ and we are currently experiencing a Level 3 lockdown in Auckland with all the restrictions and hardship that goes with it. It's good to hear from someone saying that eliminating the virus with zero cases is a pipe dream. Our government is still pursuing the policy of elimination despite the fact that we are getting low cases numbers and the majority if the cases have been epidemioloically linked to existing clusters. I personally believe there is no such thing as elimination when it comes to this pandemic only mitigation . I wish our government would wake up to that fact.

Dr. DhandI really appreciate all the information you present. I understand you are looking at this from the point of view of Covid and how Australia will deal with it and emerge. I live in Melbourne and it saddens me to say this but Australia, but specifically Melbourne is now in the grip of full blown tyranny. Covid is the least of our problems, the violence directed at the citizens is verging on civil war. Regardless of how and when Covid is managed, my once beautiful country has fallen.
In Australasia, we are all rushing out to get vaccinated just as we are heading into summer. Other countries have shown the virus dying down in summer. Just as we hit winter next year, our vaccine coverage will be waning. Would we have been better to wait? Does anyone have thoughts on this?
People are dying now, waiting proves nothing.
Vaccinating during a pandemic only gives rise to variants which bypass the vaccine. Given that vax side effects go up (double, I think) with every booster and boosters are coming, eventually vaccines will be too costly in terms of deaths and illness. You'll end up with a new variant you can no longer vaccinate for... and a ton of people that will be either chronically ill for life or dead from the VX and boosters.
