The way you interviewed the artisan to share the information to the viewers is excellent. There is absolutely no unnecessary blabbering like the present day anchors do in their shows. Hats off to you for your presentation skills. I also request you to do documentary on Kolkata hand painted sarees.
Hi Pratibha, Thank you so much for the compliments. When I see these encouraging comments, they make me feel that my efforts are payed off. Thank you so much. Really means a lot to me🤗 I will have to travel to Kolkata to create. document on those sarees. Will keep it in my mind and work on it in the future 😊
That is true. They need appreciation and exposure. That's the reason I work hard on creating these documentaries. I'm glad to know that my work in inspirational. There is another documentary on Bagru. You may like to watch that ua-cam.com/video/ydmJaTVi-4c/v-deo.html
I ordered from these artists after seeing this video . They are honest , hardworking and supremely talented ! Thanks for making this video and sharing contact information
A big Thanks to you Arpitha …just loved the video ! A very good initiative for helping such amazingly skilled artisans of our country. We must all do our bit to bring them to the front so that their skill is given due and worthy recognition by all.
The final work came in the frame. And then my heart skipped a beat. Thank you for this video. I have been really looking to buy handpainted Kalamkari and saw many options online (Fabindia has one selling for Rs.2999/-), but had many doubts. This video is not just educational but also makes it so easy to purchase. Also, the fact that the money is going directly to the artist is very gratifying, especially how the ground reality is (explained so succinctly by Chandra ji) Thanks a zillion :)
Devika, thank you so much for such nice words.. I look for this kind of support to work on more such videos. These fabrics are generally expensive than the regular mill made ones as the whole process is such an intricate one.. these brands will definitely add their margins as they have to advertise, maintain a big store and get the customers to buy.. it's just business.. so my main goal through this video was to guide my audience to the artisan directly..I get messages from them saying people are calling them from different parts of India n buying fabric from them. Such a satisfaction it is 😇😇
I'm so happy that you liked my initiative. Please do buy from him. They are really good people. They welcomed me into their home with open arms.. they have lot of skill but very less help. Please do share it with others so it is more helpful for everyone.. thank you so much 😊 it really means a lot to me..🤗🤗
Arpitha Rai it goes without saying that I will most definitely share it with my friends and family. I just am in love with the way you conducted the interview and how professional you were with your questions. Also the way you made Mr Chandra's family comfortable enough to be open about their art and way of living. It was raw and stark and the fact that it didn't have frills to it made the whole thing more compelling and the narration took on a more realistic outlook. I hope you consider doing more documentaries because you have an aptitude for it.
Oh wow!! You have noticed so much in the video and such a good feedback! Thank you so much.. your good words are really encouraging. I'm very happy that you'll share this video.. thanks a lot. I will try to create more documentaries in future. My only worry is, will people like to watch such long videos?
Arpitha Rai If the content is good, then it is a simple yes. Always add on subtitles and by making it interactive i.e, asking viewers opinions and questions as well as perhaps having polls on what to do the next video on will help loads because the audience knows that you are engaging with them and that our thoughts do matter to you. It is a slow process but ultimately a fulfilling one of you enjoy being in front of the camera as well as the back . :)
Thanks for making this video. Thanks Chandra garu for making good Kalamkari sarees. Bought couple of sarees and they’re really good, an awesome surprise for wifey’s birthday!

Nice video Arpitha, need help to know how to get rid of the smell of this kalamkari cloth. I am not able to use my dupatta which I bought from an artisan.
Hey Anupama, that smell comes because of the raw milk n the seed paste which they apply before getting started with the painting. All that mixture helps the colour to stick to the fabric. With washes the smell should go. I have a video explaining how to carefully wash kalamkari : ua-cam.com/video/axpBEgJaxV0/v-deo.html

Nice video Arpitha, need help to know how to get rid of the smell of this kalamkari cloth. I am not able to use my dupatta which I bought from an artisan.
